Hôtel Rollan de By

Our stay at the Hotel Rollan de By couldn't have been better. The small boutique hotel is beautiful, with large comfortable beds and clean, well-appointed rooms. The location is perfect for exploring the Medoc countryside and is within a short, picturesque drive to some of Bordeaux's most famous wine chateaux as well as to the sprawling beaches on the Atlantic coast. The free wifi is fast and reliable and breakfast on the terrace was fresh and delicious. Would certainly recommend for a relaxing, romantic holiday.

If you are looking to get away from it all, this is a great hotel. This hotel is located very northern part of the Medoc. The rooms are spacious and very nice. The staff is lovely - managed by a husband and wife team. Wine tasting and tour of Rolland de By and their other family of wines was wonderful. Rolland de By happens to be one of my personal favorites so this was a treat for me. ||||I highly recommend this place.

The hotel is on the grounds of a wine estate. The rooms are all very comfortable and well appointed. Whilst there is no air conditioning, fans are provided to cool the rooms. The hotel does not do evening meals, but there are pleasant village restaurants within a few miles- though no local taxis. Breakfasts are good.||||Where the hotel really scores is in the quality of the hosts- Benjamin and his wife. They were helpful in the advance booking, but really came into their own where our travel plans were being scuppered by striking French rail workers etc. All arrangements were made for us. It wasn't a question of going the extra mile; they went an extra marathon! This included making all arrangements for eating, and for pre arranging tastings at our designated wineries. As if that wasn't enough, it was Benjamin who conducted the tasting into the interesting wines of Rolland de By, and its sister chateaux. All in all, a model in how to provide a true welcome.

We had an amazing time here. It's boutique hotel standard and the managers couldn't be more helpful. They set us up with tableware to have picnics in the garden, got our bikes out ready for us every morning and when I left my sunglasses behind, drove out to find us and return them! So so kind. The breakfast was amazing and the whole stay thoroughly enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful. I can't speak highly enough of this place. Thank you!

We stayed for 3 days . What an amazing find! The rooms are spacious, well appointed and beautifully decorated . The comfortable 4 poster bed is to die for . Above all, Benjamin and Deborah are the perfect hosts. Charming, friendly and helpful . They go the extra mile, nothing is too much trouble for them and they seemed to effortlessly anticipate our every need . Their hospitality is second to none and I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to spend time in Medoc .

We stayed here one night while biking down the coast. Lovely, smart, peaceful B and B. Spacious rooms, well appointed and great fresh breakfast. We went into Begadan to pick up a picnic and Caroline laid out a table with crockery, cutlery and glasses to which we added their wine for a delicious evening.

Such a great experience at Rollan De By. We wanted a secluded Chateau experience and were not disappointed. The building has character but inside rooms are very modern.||As a small hotel (6 rooms) with more of a B&B experience we had a virtually 1:1 service from Benjamin and Deborah who both spoke perfect English.||From the location there’s lots to explore and we’d definitely return. ||Thanks!

On a cycling holiday with a group of friends, this was an ideal place to stay - a quiet and scenic location, beautiful rooms, charming hosts and a wonderful breakfast in the garden each morning. And we had excellent recommendations for dinners nearby.
