Hotel Römischer Kaiser

Fantastic location next to Porto Nigra. Friendly and very welcoming staff. Breakfast is great but paid separately for at euro 14.50. Rooms were clean but very small. TV needs replaced with a modern TV. Floors need renovation.

Great place just next to Porta Nigra. Very close to the heart of the city. The atmosphere of the hotel is just like Trier. Feel the city!! Also, the staff is so friendly and kind.

The bed is probably the worst bed I've slept on in decades (and the mattress felt like it was at least that old). Squeaky coil springs, a few inches thick at best and very low to the ground. No box spring or other support. Rooms are overly hot, hallways are freezing cold. Currently sitting in the breakfast area and you need a jacket in here to be comfortable. We will be cancelling our additional nights and looking for a new hotel.

The front desk staff is extremely friendly, polite and helpful. They allowed me to check in early, provided free drinks and were all around just nice! The location is absolutely perfect to visit the city. Would recommend to anyone visiting Trier.

Although it has a good location, this hotel offers very few for the money you spend there. Some basic amenities are missing. For instance, in my case, the room had no fridge, and the hotel doesn’t have an ice machine. Wifi is very poor and the TV’s remote control didn’t work properly. I’ll never go back to this place and I don’t recommend it.

Kind staff, with a great location. Free parking slightly away from the hotel. The building is a little bit dated inside of the rooms, however it was clean and the bathroom and shower were fine. 15€ per dog.

Great staff. Welcoming. Nice big room. Comfy bed. Clean. Room was a little dated but that was ok. One thing to note, rooms have no air conditioning - was very warm. Also with window open (my room faced the main road), it was very noisy.

Charming period building, very friendly and competent staff, room tiny but ok. Location hardly beatable, as it is next door to Porta Nigra. However the hotel is in bad need of renovation, or at least air conditioning. Breakfast buffet pretty good. Excellent quality/price ratio.

Absolutely did NOT like my stay here The room was not nice looking, the wifi was not very good and the breakfast was a disaster. I had to wait 30 minutes for them to get some more bread..the ladies that were working that morning at the hotel's reataurant were incredibly unpleasant towards me and my friend. Although the location is good, it's 2 minutes away on foot from the center and it's not too far from the train station. There is a bus stop a couple of meters away, so the placement is convenient. That would be the only good thing about this hotel. Other than that, an overall bad experience, and would not recommend this hotel to anyone - there are plenty of great hotels in Trier but this is NOT one of them.

Ok place to stay for a few days. Service is ok and so are the prices. Breakfast is very good
