There was a lot of confusion between this Hotel Ronda (1 star) and another Hotel Ronda Nuevo (4 star). It was my mistake to book this hotel and expect 4 star standard!! There was no reception and you have to call or use WhatsApp to contact a reception. I think there was something wrong during my stay. My room was cold (although a heater was on) and there was no hot water. I could not take a shower at all. I just managed one night. However, the location was the best, just a few minutes from the bridge, and the stay was very cost effective.

Loved this little simple hotel. Had room number 1 which suited us as in our 60’s so no stairs. Comfy bed, light and airy room with shutters. You can hear chatter from tourists walking by, but that was for a short time, before all the bus parties have left.||Room was clean, had tea making facilities, and bathroom had a powerful hot shower.||We thought it excellent value for money, and location in Ronda was close to everything. Reception greeted us warmly and room was ready on our arrival at 12 noon.||Would definitely stop here again.

The only reason I didn't give this hotel a 5 is because it is not what one expects in a hotel. It's more like a friendly intimate hostel for adults. It's bare bones, but everything clean as a whistle. The owner is a lovely soul, and will give you an outer door key as well as a modern card key for your room. It's a small house with fully equipped rooms and bathrooms. The owner does not live on the premises but is minutes away. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the owner, who is a British ex pat. It's in the old town section, very close to the bridge and gorges. Easy to walk to all the sights, bars, and restaurants.

Despite the name, this is not a hotel. It looks like it was a hotel at one stage but now it's operated as an airbnb style accommodation and it looks like it is associated with the Hotel Ronda. There is no reception, you have to call a number and someone turns up in a car to give you the key card. The only positives are that the room is big and clean. The negatives are that the air con is very poor, the TV didn't work and the jacuzzi bath didn't work. If you want a cheap room with basic services and bad air conditioning then stay here. If you are expecting a four star hotel as advertised on Booking.com then avoid and stay somewhere else.

This property is nowhere near a 4 star. The only positive is the location. It is in desperate need of renovations. When I checked in, I was given a room with 3 single beds squeezed in. The beds were hard, the linen is old and the pillows lumpy. The bathroom is small but clean. Perhaps suitable for younger travellers (pension/ hostel style)

Looking at some of the past reviews, I think the Ronda has changed hands. There is no breakfast, no free parking and no concierge. That said, it is still a great hotel. Paid parking, about 10 euros a day, is five minutes away and you can load and unload your luggage at the hotel. The room was large and comfortable, and the wifi was fast. As in the title, it is probably less than 200 M from the new bridge and not much more from the other bridges. We used it as a base for a day at Caminito del Rey, about an hour away. Lots of good restaurants around. Ronda was one of our favorite cities. We stayed three days and could have stayed more.

Trust the rating of a frequent travel with 1000+ overnight stays. Rather a bad managed "airbnb": 1) Zero personal on site. 2) room cleaned with "overdose" chlor containing cleaning chemicals (resulting in breathing problems). 3) Personal on-site during check-in not knowledgable by any standard (parking, tourist activities, etc.) nor assisting with luggage. 4) No specific guidance, where to locate the "hotel" despite google. 5) "Hotel" indeed boutique, as there are different pictures in each room ;-). 6) Don't overinterpret the "5 Star ratings", as those travellers probably stay for the first time abroad! In summary: AVOID

Google
Everything, but the location....this is rather a bad managed Airbnb (not a hotel by standard means- no one at the site, nothing else besides a staircase and a lobby with a sofa and a table)...our room had been heavily cleaned with Chlor containing cleaner, which even caused health issues (breathing)...the initial 9.5 booking.com rating should really be only a 2.5-3 rating at the most... the owner is not knowledgable, as she doesn't know even the basics of Ronda. In case you wish to waste your money there, choose the Garage Plaza Del Socorro.

Yelp
This is an excellent choice in an incredible town. It is a small family-run hotel. If you are looking for a good value (we paid less than $100 US per night) in the old town, and you are OK with a simple room, this is your hotel. We look forward to staying again. Thank you to everyone at the Hotel Ronda, we felt as if we were staying with family.

Yelp
I have no idea why Yelp list this with the word "Golf"... trust me, there is no golfing in the old quarters of Ronda. But the address and the webpage is correct, so here the review goes. The pros: 1. Public computer and printer avail 2. Some small nibbles like biscuits or fruit and hot tea avail in the morning (which is nice since breakfast is not common in Spain) 3. Friendliest grandma-like front staff person w/ some basic English The cons: 1. The A/C is not particularly strong, but it will bearable in June. I try to be cognizant that A/C electricity costs money, so I always turn the temp up (ie 25C) when we leave for the day just so it will be bearable when we return. But anyhow, when they come to tidy the room, they will turn off the A/C and open your window... which is going to let in the many bugs and mosquitoes. 2. Bugs and mosquitoes, see above. Just when we thought we got rid of all the buggers, they came back the next day. :) Tip: Immediate left when you cross the bridge from the new to old quarters. The hotel is on your right, parking right up along the road will be free (don't block doorways). Otherwise going to public parking will cost quite a bit per day. Initially we went to the public parking at the end of the old town, walked back, found the hotel and parking instructions. Sort of became our method going fwd in Spain, rather than getting the car stuck in tight spots in narrow streets.

Yelp
(3.75 stars) Hotel Ronda is a tiny hotel (five rooms) and a very convenient place to spend a night or two in Ronda. It's a block from the bridge, and there must be a few hundred restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are absolutely spotless, slightly small (at least the double room we stayed in, though the one my parents stayed in was larger), slightly sterile, but very comfortable - large closet, a small desk, a spacious bed, and ample heating (at least in the bedroom - in November, though, the bathrooms were quite cold!). In other words, the rooms are serviceable and comfortable, but not luxurious; you're not going to want to spend half the day inside. The very lovely woman who runs the hotel provides coffee/tea, fruit, and biscuits in the morning which makes the start of the day pleasant. And the front area is stocked with books about Andalucia, and a computer that you can use (the rooms also have reliable, fast wifi which is unusual for Spain). That said, there isn't really a lobby per se - just a tiny area when you walk in the hotel's front door - so when you come back to the hotel for the evening, you will be heading to your room, not to some communal space. Note: the owner does a lovely job directing you if you are arriving by car- you can stop in front of the hotel for 15 minutes to unload your car. You will then be sent to a garage about a 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel (the hotel offers that parking for 10 Euros). Do note, this garage is a bit small so don't rent an SUV or something like that. Note 2: The hotel is on a steep slope which can make accessing the hotel by foot challenging for some. (Don't wear stilettos). Note2: The hotel staff speaks limited English.
