Hotel Rose - A Staypineapple Hotel

Joanne at the front desk made us feel so welcome. She was warm, professional, and had a great sense of humor! All the staff were great, but she is a stand out. The place is kitschy retro, has small but well appointed rooms, and has the most comfortable beds! Sweet touches like water bottles and well stocked coffee/tea supplies, plenty of towels, and bathrobes made out stay very comfortable. And the downtown location was perfect!

Great Stay- Awesome Staff! Just stayed at Hotel Rose in Portland and had a really good time. Right when I got there, everyone was super welcoming and answered all my questions, which was great. The room was clean and nice, no complaints there. They have a gym which I used pretty much every day. Only thing I’d change is maybe adding a cable machine with a pull-up attachment, but honestly it’s still good and got the job done. I really liked that they have a bar right in the hotel. The bartender Rea (hope I’m spelling that right!) was super attentive and made me feel welcome every time I stopped by. The hotel also provided me with a free water bottle and refillable station at the front which literally saved me every time. I’m always thirsty. Julie, one of the hosts, was also really welcoming and gave me tons of great recommendations for things to do around the area. But I have to give a huge shoutout to Sonia, she was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She helped me with everything I needed and always had spot-on recommendations for places she thought I’d like. She even went out of her way to make sure I was well taken care of. Seriously, she’s the best and made my whole stay even better. All in all, I really enjoyed my time at Hotel Rose and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Portland!

Ellie at the front desk got us checked in and set up with everything we needed. Super accommodating staff! I absolutely love the bedding at these staypineapple hotels too! Luce got me checked out the next day AND set me up for my next stay, all in one go.

It's a uniquely styled hotel. I enjoyed it. Super comfy with very good service and clean rooms. I will come back. Did I mention the delicious coffee too?

Update: The hotel was incredibly understanding and helpful. They monitor their reviews and found my review before we checked out. Thank you, Rose Hotel for your accommodations. I'm not impressed with this hotel. We are staying one night and I wish I had selected somewhere else. They allow more than two dogs per room- we have four, so that is great. The staff at the counter are very nice and helpful. That's about where the positives end. I booked a room with two full beds. They didn't have rooms with queens or king beds - I'm not sure if that's because they were unavailable, or simply don't exist. When we got here, they told us the room was being cleaned and wouldn't be ready, so they "upgraded" us from a room with one king bed to a room on the second floor with two full beds. I'm glad I got the room I originally requested, but it was far from an upgrade. The pillows are strangely lumpy, yet flat. The room is crazy hot with no way to cool it except to open a window to a loud, busy street, and the refrigerator doesn't work so all our left overs are sitting in it, going bad. At midnight, I finally called the front desk and they brought us a fan. That helped tremendously. The only place they have for dogs to go potty is at a park, across a very busy road, where homeless people live. There is no on-site potty place. The floors are dated and dirty looking. The T.V. has very few channels and the guide states "no information", so there is no way to look up a show - you have to flip through the channels. The WiFi is on an unsecured network. I'm trying to sleep, but it's nearly impossible. Pretty sure the room is over 70.

The beds don't have sheets. Everything is very old and shabby. The front desk was not helpful at all. None of the amenities that were advertised were available. The restaurant was closed. They charged $50 for my dog and didn't do any of the things that are supposed to come with that charge. This was the biggest disappointment I have experienced in Portland. The price was way too high for a motel 6 quality.

I am blown away.. New Year’s Day. My car window got broken (not in their parking garage mind you) and the maintenance guy Rafael plus one other gentleman took time to vacuum my glass and make sure it was safe to drive. With the biggest smiles. The rooms at this hotel are very comfortable. And clean. The staff made this stay amazing. Turning a not so great start to my new year, amazing and with kindness you just don’t see anymore. So thank you for a safe and clean stay. Also the coffee……… *chefs kiss*

I've stayed here twice before, and I always tell people to stay here because the beds and the bedding are the most comfortable I've ever experienced anywhere (and I travel a lot). I love the location of the hotel. There are lots of food options available in walking distance, including some great food trucks, but also the restaurant in the hotel is really good as well. Powell's bookstore is only about a 10-15 minute walk away, VooDoo donuts is about a 10 minute walk away, the moda center is about a 20-25 minute walk away (you do have to walk a bridge to get to the moda center). This was my first time bringing a dog with me, and I would absolutely do so again. A dog bed, a water bowl, poop bags, and treats were provided. There are no places on property for the dogs to go potty, but there is the river front park area across the street and that was great. The hotel is older, therefore older heating/ac. There is one cooling/heating system for the whole hotel. Because it's winter, the heater was on. When we talked to the manager, Kennedy, about this, he was incredibly accommodating and brought two fans to our room, which helped a lot! All of the staff were very kind, but I can not say enough about Kennedy. Aside from bringing fans to our room, he really went out of his way to ensure that we were pleased with our stay. He offered us the best hospitality I've ever experienced and I am so grateful for how much he did for us.

Such an eclectic fun hotel right in the center of everything! You can walk along the willamette river, walk to many pubs and eateries and to an indoor shopping mall. The staff is overboard friendly and greet you and say have a "sweet" day as you leave. Everything is pineapple themed. They have pineapple water and cookies out as a free snack. The rooms are compact but have all the needed comforts. The beds are so comfortable and pillows are fluffy. They have the best comforters and they are made so you get your own, no fighting the hubby for blankets. Water and coffee is in the room and free. Will definitely stay again!

Cons: I knew going in that the rooms were not air conditioned. But having said that, it was still really warm to sleep, even with a box fan and the circulating air setting that they suggested would be the fix. We were there in the cooler Spring but I can't imagine in the hot Portland summers. Open the window, sure, but the street noise, especially the dinging of the train is annoying. Pros: Good pricing. Comfy bed and bedding (but too warm in the room to snuggle into for long) Bathroom was clean and nice. Loved the tile floors in the room instead of carpet. The room had everything a hotel room should have including a Keurig - and half/half in the mini fridge, hairdryer (stored in the closet) worked on thick, long hair, free alum water bottle and water refill downstairs and snacks in the late afternoon. They didn't have the pineapple water, which I was looking forward to! The staff were all amazing. The restaurant had good food and tasty drinks. The bar service, usually run by one server who handled the food orders too (great service too!) as it wasn't very busy, which was cool for us! We used our free drink coaster one night and ordered a dessert along with. Easy location to find. Close to so many things! Right across the street from the river walk and close walking to many restaurants. *We won't stay again unless they get a/c installed.

Just departed after a very nice, relaxing, two-night stay. (I was in Portland for work) Room was clean and cozy, with a fun pineapple theme. Had a lovely view of the river and park across the street. The bed was comfortable, but the bedding was a little weird to figure out. I did it though, and had two terrific nights sleep. Staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed dinner in the attached restaurant. Coffee maker in the room and unlimited bottled water are both definite pluses. Only downside was the lack of in-house food options late night. As a musician, I finish work pretty late, and it would have been nice to be able to grab a sandwich or something when I got back. Certainly not a deal breaker, but something I know for the next time I stay there. And I WILL be staying there!

Located along the river park. Parking available on property for a fee. Pineapple themed and mascot is a dog. Rooms have a stuffed animal dog in the room for purchase and the proceeds go to helping animals, love that. Water refill station in the lobby. Pictured is my complimentary drink. You get a coaster at check in to redeem at the restaurant or a drink from the cooler.

We've stayed at most of Staypineapple hotel locations, and this is my least favorite of them all. Things that I like: while we absolutely could have stayed at numerous other hotels, this particular hotel is conveniently located to the things that we had planned to do, friends that we were spending time with, and because we know the quality of the rooms, it was an easy yes to staying here. The rooms are clean, and I adore the European style betting. What does that mean? Wow I love a top sheet and layered blankets at home, there's something about being in a comfy bed in a hotel with soft, fluffy blankets that are utilized in place of a top sheet another layered blankets. The beds at stay. Pineapple are always comfy. The decor varies from hotel to hotel, and several other of their locations, I found the decor to be much more appealing. There is always shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel and dispensers in both the shower, and at the sink. Things I don't like: the parking lot. At this location the parking area can be scary AF. The dining area. I found the people to be incredibly and welcoming, and it was unclear if we could actually dine in the restaurant or if it was just a bar area. No service. No menus. The overall cleanliness. For some strange reason this particular location seems to have an extra layer of obvious ick to it. This is mostly the lobby area, the floors, and some of the surrounding areas. Once you get past all of that, the rooms at least our room, was okay. It is what it is ...

I stayed at my first Staypineapple hotel in Seattle and thought I'd give Portland a try too. The staff is very nice and check-in was easy. I did most of it online including the nightly parking fee and pet fee. If you are traveling with pets, you will love Staypineapple. They include a bed, treats, doggie bags and a collapsible bowl. They also keep treats in the lobby and add your pets name to the board. Just nice touches all around. There's a reason why Good Housekeeping just recognized them with the most pet-friendly brand award. The room was great, with comfortable bedding and a great view of the river park across the street. I stayed on the top floor and the lights at night were wonderful. The showers are not fully enclosed and I don't know how but I didn't make a mess everywhere. Quiet and relaxing stay! Also, try the bacon wrapped dates in the restaurant. They are divine.

Great location to downtown Portland. Friendly staff. Large room, nicely furnished. Free loaner bicycles. Would definitely stay here again.

I would give this 3.5 out of 5, but I'm rounding up since I have to choose either 3 or 4. This is a simple but nice modern hotel downtown at the corner of SW Morrison and Naito Parkway, facing the river. The place is very clean, the staff were friendly , and it has some nice features and elements which make it a notch above just being a bland motel and igve it something of a pseudo boutique vibe. They provide cookies and coffee and have some nice decor elements. It has a convenient location next to the Morrison Bridge, making it great for exploring downtown by foot while also making it easy to get to the river or to go to the east side. We did not like the small, separate comforters, one of their hallmarks, apparently. They are too small and we like our blankets and/or sheets to be tucked in to keep them in place, not really possible with these. There is parking on site, but it is not free. The rooms facing the river have a nice view but those facing north, even though they have balconies, only face the ramp for Morrison bridge and a parking lot. Ultimately, this is a slightly jazzed-up motel, albeit one with a convenient location, some nice elements, and one that seems run carefully and cleanly. Given the price, though, I do not think its a great value, and next time we'll probably choose one of the fancier boutique places we checked out when downtown, which were fairly comparable in price. We had chosen this for several reasons, including closeness to the bridge access, river, farmers' market, and downtown proper. However, downtown Portland is still small enough to be easily walkable (we walked easily everywhere we went in the downtown vicinity and even across the river) and these days is a bit more quiet than it used to be, so the traffic is light enough that even driving in or out is no problem.

This place was so weird. Not nearly as clean and nice looking as the photos. Maybe worth half the price they charge. There was also some random hair in the bathtub when I checked in, a few stains around the room and the public spaces weren't too clean either. Smelled terrible, like bleach, the fridge didn't work and it just seemed like an old run down hotel. Not worth the price at all, may as well book another hotel downtown like Oyo which is like half the price. It's not really like this place was an upgrade from Oyo. It's kind of like a slightly fancier looking yet less clean and more smelly version of a motel 6.

3.5 stars but rounding up because we had a pleasant stay. Everyone was friendly. Hotel is further west near the river. Check in was easy. The room was pretty big. The bed was nicely made. I do like the separate comforter. We don't have to fight for blanket space! The room itself is a little older, you can see paint chips. I hate their type of shower, half glass door, which makes it more leakage of water. The AC wasn't really working for 80% of the time. At night time it got really warm. We like to sleep cold. There's a mini fridge so that's really useful. Our friend told us they have free coffee at the restaurant below but it was never opened in the mornings for coffee or even breakfast. I guess there's a staffing issue. There's paid parking available. Small lobby. Free water bottles! This helped us out greatly! Great location and dog friendly!

Went on a min vacation with my puppy and found this dog friendly hotel thanks to Yelp, of course. I thought it was cute how they have sign with all of the dogs staying at their hotel (sadly, they forgot to add my puppy's name which honestly made me a bit upset). They also have doggy treats and a bowl of water when you enter for you fur baby. We booked the bark and park (or park and bark?) package which included free parking and a waived pet fee during our stay. The pet fee is $25/ night. With this package, our pup also got a free little collapsable water/food bowl, doggy bags with a clip and doggy treats. There's even a doggy bed (that is not free) for you doggy to use during their stay. They also get to met Dash the pup (who can be adopted for $25 and a % will be going to a charity I believe). They even have a door sign for when humans need to take a stroll without their pup. I definitely appreciate how dog friendly this place is. I really like their location, because right across is a park that is perfect for morning and evening walks with your doggy! They have a ton of eats and shopping nearby, too. With your stay, utilize the free bikes they have to offer! That is something we did not have time to do but if we had more time, that is something I 100% rec. Hotel Rose was perfect for our stay because it was sort of in the middle of most of the places we wanted to check out in Portland, so the drive back and forth to the hotel wasn't bad at all. They pride themselves in comfy beds, soft towels and blankets- and they should! Because they aren't lying about that! We slept good every night and felt rested to start our day. I also wonder if the hotel has a water softener because the water felt... soft lol There's also a restaurant in the lobby, Bottle + Kitchen. My fiance and I went in for Pineapple Hour. The pineapple hour food was tasty and the cocktail was strong but also tasty. I got The Naked Experience. The hotel also gives a complimentary drink that you can use at the restaurant or the fridge next to the front desk. Overall, our stay was great. We for sure want to check out the hotel in San Francisco just because!

We had the most amazing experience and customer service at the pineapple hotel, Rose. Super clean super friendly staff Damien started us off and was an amazing . They accommodated my friends disability and had amazing delicious food. I will definitely be coming back!! All the pineapple details are super cute :-)

This was my first time at a Staypineapple. I had never heard about them, but found on Hotels.com when looking for a dog friendly hotel. The check in process was exceptional. The front desk clerk ran through everything smoothly, and even informed me I had a gold perk I didn't realize (parking fees waived). They do charge a "resort" or amenities fee per night, as well as a nightly pet fee, even for support animals. I stayed on a Wednesday and Thursday night. It was pretty quiet for a downtown location. Plenty of covered parking. Despite a couple homeless outside, it felt safe. (The city actually came by and cleaned up some encampments during my stay) I loved that not only are they dog friendly, but they are cool with you leaving your dog behind while you go out and explore. They also provide a dog bed, bowls, poop bags, and treats. The king rooms are a bit cramped, but still comfortable. Everything felt clean, and loved their sheets and individual duvets. They have a cafe/bar downstairs if you want to buy your own breakfast or drinks. It's a bit pricey once you throw in all the extra fees, but given the cleanliness, the convenience, and the exceptional staff, I would definitely stay again.

Hotel Rose is conveniently located in Downtown Portland. It is so close to walk/bike to many of the places we wanted to visit in Portland. The staff at the front desk is friendly! I love their pineapple theme! However, it doesn't make sense that this place is called Hotel Rose when there was no rose decoration at all. Either way, it's very cute and a quaint place to stay. I love that the room we stayed in was modern, clean, and bright. They offer bicycles to check out for free when you stay with them. They provide a helmet and bike lock with it as well! The bicycles were not great... at all. The brakes were practically nonexistent so don't expect a nice ride. But for our purposes of cruising around locally, the bikes did their jobs and we very much appreciated that the hotel offered this amenity. Parking is not free, you have to pay $20 per night. What I loved even more than the free bicycle during our stay was the unlimited water bottles! My hubby and I drink water like there is no tomorrow. I kid you not, water is my favorite drink! We went through so many bottles of water during our two night stay here. I swear, we drank like there were six of us staying in the room. We brought the bottles with us when we went out of the hotel as well! I'd definitely stay at Hotel Rose again! My only hope is that they will update/get better bicycles in the future.

We stayed here about 6 years ago. We recently stayed here April 2024. Pros: across the street from the water front, clean, close to downtown, Pet friendly. Price okay. Cons: They have parking, but you have to pay $25 a day on top of the Hotel price. Noisy, you will get a lot of street traffic noise. Looking out the window seen small homeless camping out. Can hear dogs parking all hours of the night. Our room didn't have air conditioning, we had the fan on but didn't do anything. Wouldn't stay at the Hotel in the summer! It's a okay place to stay if the street noise doesn't bother you, and you don't mind hearing dogs parking when your trying to sleep. Or, paying $25 a day for parking on top of the Hotel price.

I've stayed in a couple StayPineapple hotels now (I really enjoy their comforters/bedding), so I certainly had some preconceived notions about what this specific location would be like (comparing to The Alise in Chicago, or The Maxwell in Seattle, etc. - previous experiences which felt super luxurious). Compared to those locations, the Rose Hotel wasn't exactly what I expected. As usual with a StayPineapple location, the staff is lovely, personable, and very helpful. Admittedly, I also pushed a bit after seeing the initial room that I was given. My mother was with me - visiting Portland was a treat for her birthday weekend, so I wanted her to have a nice view from the room - and the room we were initial provided on the 2nd floor may have been facing the water, but the view of the water was almost completely obstructed by trees outside the window. I went back down to the front desk to ask if it would be possible to get our room changed and was assisted by a very nice front desk employee who also made the point to go upstairs and check the view from the room on the fourth floor before ultimately assigning it to us when he confirmed there was a view with plenty of water. Side note: my friends that came to Portland with my mother and I brought their dog - and, upon check-in, were provided with a variety of items as part of the hotel's "pup package", including bowls and a dog bed. There are also treats available in the lobby for pups staying in the hotel, as well as extra water bowls for thirsty pups coming back in from a walk outside, etc. - given that finding a hotel that would allow dogs was a priority for this overnight trip, I'd say that Hotel Rose covered that requirement nicely. In terms of the hotel rooms generally though, they're certainly not the nicest I've ever stayed in... the bathrooms could use a scrubbing / general refreshing, and there were various wonky aspects... like the time that every time I got on my bed, the light on the neighboring table would flicker. The light was plugged into an outlet behind the top of the bed, and some aspect of the connection should probably be looked at. The plug was definitely secure in the outlet, but there was still flickering every time. I'd also say that dealing with the room temperature is a bit off-putting. There's no real option to easily control the temperature in your room... it's either the A/C is on or off, and when it's off? The room gets quite stuffy. Could you open a window? Probably... but the amount of traffic noise is then going to make your sleep difficult. (And for the particular night that we stayed, the Portland Marathon was happening the next morning... so activities for runners that had an early start began at around 4:30am.) Finally, the bedding wasn't quite as clean as I would have hoped. While I generally love the bedding used in StayPineapple hotel locations, there were some specks on my comforters that I had to brush off (from top and bottom) before re-arranging my bed. TL;DR The hotel building itself is fairly old, and you just really feel the impact of that with lot of your general experiences while staying here. Yes, the staff is lovely and they're very service-minded, but this hotel itself is going to need an overhaul of some kind just due to the outdated nature of the building infrastructure... which, honestly, might be true of almost all of Downtown Portland at this point. Things are looking rough out there.

Great hotel. Super clean, cute brand and the beds are awesome!!!! Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We had breakfast in the hotel one day. Service was a little odd but friendly. Get your own coffee, no syrup. One morning the restaurant was closed But this review is really in regards to the hotel stay

We stayed at Hotel Rose for 1 night driving from WA thru Portland. The hotel theme is super fun and we truly enjoyed the atmosphere of this boutique hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the cafe serves yummy breakfast and it's got a full bar. We got an waterfront room and the view was great. The rooms were noisy though. The people around us seemed to be coming home late and slamming their doors. And there is a railroad track across the way, so you can hear the trains and their horns at night. Bring earplugs! Otherwise, a nice stay and we may be back but prepared for the noise.

The hotel and the rooms aren't the nicest or the most luxurious, but the staff is friendly and they offer some nice perks (like bike rentals and complimentary water bottles). It's a good, central location to Downtown Portland. I had a positive experience and would stay at this hotel again. If you hate pineapples, this definitely is not the hotel for you. They really stick with the theme and have pineapples plastered on everything: cups, usb plug in device, pillows, robes, the tissue paper the toilet paper is wrapped in...you get the idea. If you do stay here, make sure you redeem your complimentary beverage (since you're already paying for it through your amenity charge).

Amazing! Best customer service, clean, updated rooms. Will definitely stay here again. Do wish the room had a microwave but definitely not a deal breaker.

I enjoy staying at this hotel when in Portland - the Rose City It is conveniently located across the street from the Red Light Rail line, straight shot from the PDX airport. Ride is $2.50 one way. You can walk to restaurants and bars nearby. Receptionists are friendly and helpful. If you don't have an umbrella, no problem. They have loaners. I appreciate all the cute details - see my pictures.

Recently, we stayed at the Maxwell Hotel in Seattle, Washington, but the Hotel Rose was less than stellar. I posted a review on Trip Advisor that described our experience. I will summarize our experience 1) Hotel is outdated and desperately needs an upgrade. 2) Heating the room is "seasonal", to pacify guests blankets and a space heater is provided. 3) Mattress sank at the foot of the bed. 4) Desk, chest of drawers and coffee/bar area needs an upgrade. The area is meant for a child rather than an adult. 5) Shower did not drain. We called and maintenance was not available. 6) The only positive aspect of the Hotel Rose is the staff. 7) Bottle + Kitchen serves decent food, but be prepared to wear a jacket because the restaurant is cold. I posted a review on Trip Advisor. Other guests posted a similar review and were asked to contact the Hotel Rose for perhaps some type of compensation. I was not asked to contact Kennedy, the Front Desk manager. I really liked the Maxwell Hotel in Seattle but my experience at Hotel Rose in Portland lowered my confidence in other StayPineapple hotels in the US. My husband and I frequently travel and considered staying at other StayPineapple hotels. I am reluctant to recommend StayPineapple hotels to my friends and family who frequently travel because not all StayPineapple hotels are the same and clearly guests who write a scathing review rather than an less than flattering review are asked to contact the hotel. This hotel has sucked enough time and energy out of me, so no long review full of details, but go somewhere else. Do not stay here. We couldn't get our roomed cleaned. We couldn't get coffee. We couldn't get breakfast. They ignored the DND sign and woke us up. Every employee was chipper and told us everything would be fine--The room will get clean! You will get coffee!--but it never was. We were directed to one manager who was gone for three of our five-day stay, only to, when he finally showed up, have him tell us we needed to speak to another manager. That manager told us that he doesn't usually get complaints. It was all so bad it was ALMOST funny. But it wasn't. It really soured our trip to Portland.

Safe, clean, friendly staff and the restaurant served a perfect meal for us when we arrived late and checked in. I ordered the tomato soup.... absolutely delicious! The cookies are fantastic to grab as you head out for the evening down at the lobby. The rooms are wonderful and the bed was very comfy.

First discovered StayPineapple in Seattle and have loved the chain ever since. Rooms are consistently clean, and the pineapple theme (from the pillows to the stuffed animal huskey to the logos on the robes) just gives the rooms so much character and personality. Perks include complementary bikes and a small voucher that you can exchange for any beverage in the fridge including bottled water, fruit juices, and small beers and wine bottles. Great location near the waterfront easily walkable to more toursity areas like Pearl District. This hotel could earn 5 stars for the comfort of the bedding alone! The down comforters, pillows and sheets are so fluffy and clean and soft they just make you want to melt in them every time. Literally came home and googled "what kind of comforter do they use at StayPineapple" because I want it for my own bed and miss it already.

The bed was great and location excellent for food and activities. The amenities were very nice. Perez at guest services took ample time to provide me with clear instructions to get to local hiking and trails. She was receptive, helpful and very engaging!

Stayed here while visiting Portland for the first time this past week. It seems like this location/hotel was revamped at one point too. Its a very cute pet friendly hotel, i didnt have any issues with my stay. Room was clean, bed was soo fluffy and comfy. I like how your resort fees actually go towards amenities or things such as water bottles (UNLIMITED) btw. So i definitely appreciated that and how that was at my disposal. I would definitely try other staypineapple locations too! Oh, and we left with the famous stuffed husky dog, although it wasnt initially in our room when we checked in, i was bummed but my bf went to go inquire about it $25!

I came with my partner to Portland this past weekend and we decided to stay here because the location seemed very central and we both really enjoy theming. We arrived at 11am Saturday to drop off our bags, which was way before check-in, and they let us know that our room was already ready for us which was amazing. When they found out we were there for a special occasion, they dropped off a little present for us which was such a great first impression and was going above and beyond. The robes in the room are so comfortable and the bedding is such great quality. My partner said it was the comfiest he's ever been in a bed. The location is unbeatable if you're planning to use public transportation. The MAX red line takes you from the airport to a station less than 2 blocks away. It's also right on the river and close to things like the Portland Saturday Market, the iconic Portland sign, Voodoo Doughnuts and the shopping district in case you need to get a new raincoat while there (I did). They also give you complimentary drink vouchers when you arrive (one per person), which we used one night to get a couple beers at the hotel restaurant/bar. The two guys who worked at the restaurant during our stay were both super friendly and welcoming. Every day we took advantage of their coffee/cookie afternoon treat, which was a great way to recharge in the middle of the day and figure out what we were going to do that night. Also, I sincerely mean this when I say it- their cookies are some of the best cookies we've ever had. The sugar crystals are so decadent and we were both really impressed. We ate more of them than we probably should have haha. The front desk staff was so kind and helpful and never made me feel bad about asking for anything. They gave us an extra toothbrush because we forgot ours, brought us up a fan for the room because we like to sleep extra cold and even offered to bring us up a microwave to our room. We were more than happy to use the microwave in the lobby, but it was so thoughtful to ask. The hospitality here was great for the entire 4 days and we would absolutely stay here again. We're both people who love little things, themes and attention to detail, so everything from the pineapple mugs to the pineapple robes and cookies was adorable to us. Thanks Staypineapple! You made my first trip to Portland that much more enjoyable.

Really awesome crew working here. They were really busy during the evening of the Starlight Parade but they nailed it. Margarita & burger was yummy. They just need to up their game with Moscow Mules.

Had a less than stellar stay at this hotel recently. If you are planning on staying in this hotel and you don't have a dog... DON'T do it. After we checked in, we took a very tiny elevator to the 3rd floor and upon exiting the elevator we were hit with the pungent smell of urine. We got to our room where the disappointment continued... scratches on the door, dirty baseboards, dirty grout in the shower, dog hair in the drawers, flat pillows, and for some crazy reason they give you 2 twin comforters instead of 1 big queen sized one?? Unbelievable. I brought my significant other here for their birthday and this experience was truly embarrassing. I won't be recommending this hotel to anybody.

Old building with dirty rooms. No heat, no exhaust in the bathroom. Broken bed. Nice location but try another hotel in the same area.

Do not stay here if you are handicap they do not care about people parking in the wheelchair loading zone next to the handicap spot. We have stayed here twice and both times someone has been parked there and they do nothing about it. We have contacted the customer service number as well as asked the front desk to address the issue and in both instances nothing has been done to remedy the problem.

Wow - what a really cool hotel!! I'm here for a couple of days and this hotel was booked for us by the conference host so I wasn't too sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! Very nice, friendly, and clean. Rooms are super great - spacious with amazingly comfortable beds. The lobby is very modern with great pineapple spiked water and sugar cookies (...don't miss the cookies!!!). Lots of parking tied to the building and seems pretty secure. Next time I'm in Portland with the fam...this will be our spot to stay. What a pleasant surprise!!

What a super cute hotel. We came to Portland for a concert. There was free parking at the Hotel and we were able to walk just a block and catch the light rail to the Moda center. The room was very clean spacious wonderful view at the river. They just added all the little extra touches that made it extra nice. And the Tommy Bahama shampoo soaps and all of that was really nice. Highly recommend!

Fantastic stay! Super easy booking when I called to make the reservation. I chose the king with the balcony and it was totally worth it! Yes, get the parking package. It's discounted, and you basically get it back with the included snack/bevvie kiosk. I got a clear sky view of Mount St Helen's AND Mt. Hood from the balcony! Sure, it overlooks the highway and a parking lot, just look up more. It did provide quite a bit of noise, but thats not the hotel's fault. Its Covid-times, so everything sucks just a bit, but I felt totally safe and clean with the accommodations they've made. My room door had an unbroken sticker to indicate the room had been sanitized and no one else had entered. I entered and noted the attention to detail that really sets them apart from other hotels. Due to Covid, they understandably can't have the amenities that they usually do, like the robes, but they are doing everything they can. The StayPineapple details are very present, down to the "Get Naked" towel mat, and Tommy Bahama soaps and lotions, to the clever bath mit. And the bed.... oh the bed was the best part! So incredible and comfortable. Everything smelled freshly laundered and clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Stayed here for a weekend. This is in downtown Portland, next to train tracks. Picked the room with Waterfront. It's a nice view it'll be better when it's not gloomy. The location is kinda sketchy but you can go for a walk or jog in the morning by the Waterfront Park. Every morning you'll here the train passing even though windows are close. They change the temperature of the rooms in winter. So my room is soo hot so I have to open the window and ask for portable fan/ac. The AC won't turn on until you set it on 70f. Also, the refrigerator is not working so I have to ask for ice so my drinks stay chilled. Service is great. Kennedy mostly helped us the entire weekend very nice and kind, easy to approach and very knowledgeable. Thank you so much Kennedy taking care of us! FYI!Due to COVID they don't clean your room until you check out.

This is the second time we have stayed here and have really enjoyed it. We stayed in a suite for the first 2 nights and a room with balcony the last night. We enjoyed hanging out on the balcony most of the evening. Very relaxing and the dogs enjoyed spending time there as well! Thank you for this relaxing experience and stay. Everyone is very nice and the food was delicious, especially the nachos!

I seriously want to give this place a full 5 stars. BUT. 1. We stayed the top floor. 2. Heat. Rises. You could say we did not use our heater once during our two day stay. absolutely love this hotel inside & OUT! Looks, feel & service. It is seriously a NEW hotel experience I EVER received and I have had my fare shares of hotels. This one is; new. Definitely changing ways of lodging. I love it I love alllll of it. The whole having an option to purchase things in our room , was a bit overwhelming for me definitely made me raise an eyebrow. But like I said this is new. I'd hate to stay in a boring hotel ever again. This hotel is absolutely stunning, there is something to look at , at every corner. Not disappointed! Seriously enjoyed my stay. Best birthday weekend ever thank you.

The hallways are very dingy. It's advertised as being smoke free yet smells like someone walks up and down the halls smoking. Rooms are filthy and look like somewhere you would take a prostitute. 0/10 do not recommend if you have any self respect. Try looking for a hotel in south waterfront instead

Super cute Revamped hotel! Recently stayed here during these Crazy COVID 19 aka The Rona times! It was clean, staff was nice some more than others. I would definitely stay here again. I did really enjoy the Pineapple theme here! Everything was Pineapple from the sheets to the coffee. Loved it super cute! Pineapple loves be prepared to be wowed. Very affordable. That is all

Very nice. Don't be scared off by the pineapples, it's not a swinger hotel, ot maybe I was just too ugly to get invited...haha. Staff was very friendly, the bartenders were awesome. Too bad there are so many tents lining the the roads around it, made me a little uncomfortable leaving my car there. Nothing happened though so was an overall great experience. Will be staying here again.

Awesome staff, amazing room. The bed was so luxurious and soft. Super clean. The front desk team was a dream, made everything easy from check in to checkout. They even left a handmade card in the room because I let them know it was my husbands birthday. Special thanks to Kennedy and the woman working the front desk last Friday (12/8) I didn't catch her name. Only downside was this location does not have a pool. Overall great experience. Would highly recommend staying here.

I will stay here EVERY time I am in Portland overnight. Excellent customer service. Spotless rooms and comfortable accommodations. I want to give a HUGE shoutout to Kennedy (front desk), who truly offered delightful customer service. Hope to see him again in the future!

Taking cruise and company recommends this hotel. The homeless camp across the street is a concern. Our driver said don't walk around at night. Room old and tired. Owned by Stay Pineapple and love Chicago hotel. Sink doesn't drain, water in shower tepid. We were "upgraded" to a view of the interstate, more homeless folks and the light rail and interstate are loud. Restaurant did pour a great Guinness. 16 summer pea salad a half cup. Fries salted sent back. Hamburger that was requested just cheese had bacon and egg. Waitress apologetic but you are trapped by city conditions and food awful. Portland is a town on life support.

This hotel is awesome! When booking online, they have offers that you can apply to your reservation, which are definitely worth checking out. The beds and duvets are super comfortable. They offer unlimited bottled water. The staff is super friendly! The hotel is in a great location, about a 10 minute walk from Old town. I would definitely stay here again!

Very happy with our stay. I love the super cute theme throughout the hotel. Room was very clean and cozy. Food was good at the restaurant and every interaction with staff was wonderful especially Cat at the front desk. I felt bad for doing it but I went down and asked to change rooms due to the noise from the train (I knew I'd never get to sleep) I've never done that before and didn't want them to think I was "that " guest, but Cat was amazing and seemed very understanding. When we found that the dash puppy in the 2nd room didn't bark she happily replaced him for us because we wanted to adopt him. Thank you Cat and Rose hotel for a wonderful stay!

We were passing through town and stayed 1 night. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. You get a $10 voucher per stay to spend in the snack area by the front desk due to covid which is understandable. Use it or lose it. Got some little treats. The beds were so comfortable and we slept really well. Nice clean rooms. They offer you unlimited bottled water, they give you pineapple shaped cookies and there's coffee in the morning in the lobby. Nice touch. Love that there are sanitizers throughout the hotel. Overall we had a good experience and good nights rest!

Terrible check-in experience. They will randomly make people wait until 4 pm to check-in while others are allowed to get a room earlier as if it's some chance lottery. When I pointed out the check-in staff didn't deny it, they just said maybe it's because I have special room request. I don't. Zero special preferences and maximum flexibility. And the bar won't even serve me until 4. I won't be staying here again.

Great stay! Don't be afraid to enjoy the robes, they're perfect. The restaurant and bar had solid food and amazing drinks. Next time I'm in Portland, I'll be staying there.

The customer service here is better than most 5 star hotels! Took a day trip to Portland and decided to stay here because... pineapples. Haha, no seriously, it's the cutest hotel decorated in pineapples. Although I did not have a dog, it's very dog friendly. From the from desk staff, to the kitchen staff, to everyone else in between... some of the most amazing customer service I've ever experienced. I travel for work and I'm in hotels at least 3x a week.... this hotel has blown many other chains out of the water BY FAR. I will definitely stay here again.
