Hotel Royal

I was at the Hotel Royal on Feb 23 and left a small personal item behind. I notified the hotel that morning, and they arranged for a lost and found service to ship it back to me. I received my item on March 2nd, all the way in the United States. I cannot say enough positive things about the Hotel Royal and their high level of service. I am very appreciative to all the staff for their help. I'd recommend them to anyone just based off this experience, however their location and room quality are two other big selling points. I also very much appreciated how easy it was to connect to wifi and stream and cast content to my TV. Thanks again!

Stayed for a single night. The hotel staff were super friendly and professional. The overall impression of the hotel is sumptuous, with beautiful chandeliers and an old-fashioned elevator that adds a lot of charm.||While everything was very clean and well maintained, the room – and especially the bathroom – could benefit from some updating. That said, everything was fully functional and spotless. Room was also very quiet||Breakfast was excellent and served in the Queen’s Garden, with a good selection and very attentive staff. We also used the valet parking, which was a smooth and pleasant experience.||I would have no problem recommending this hotel if you, like us, are looking for a romantic getaway.

In the Center of the city. Nice and cozy hotel and staff. Full of culture and heritage. The stay in hotel royal has made my trip in Aarhus even more pleasant.

This is definitely our preferred hotel when visiting Århus. Both for business and family travels. It is in a way a home away from home. The rooms are absolutely amazing, and the entire hotel is beautifully decorated with beautiful interior, and even the old elevator is a beautiful touch that kind of solidifies the whole experience of staying at the hotel. |The staff is always smiling, and there to help and assist in every way they can. |The breakfast room is beautiful, with its sky window ceiling and beautiful ceiling lights dropping down like stars. The food selection is a bit small, and I hope they will add more going forward. |I also do miss the “bar” being open at night, for a glass of wine or a night cap. Maybe it is, but of all the times I’ve stayed there, the bar has been “closed.” |We will be back soon.

Wonderful grand hotel in the centre of Aarhus. Beautifully refurbished with very well appointed rooms. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast selection including a buffet and some hot food to order. Restaurant staff were lovely. Super comfortable beds and lovely bathroom toiletries. A really memorable visit and would recommend for anyone looking for a classy hotel in central Aarhus.

Super nice hotel. The bartender at the queen's garden was absolutely wonderful and even invented is to test a cocktail he was developing. Sound proof rooms and soft beds. Great view of the cathedral and city. The staff was attentive and nice.

Loved this atmospheric hotel in Aarhus. Great location and very helpful staff. Breakfast was ample, fresh, and served in an airy light-filled room. Our room was spacious and clean. Good location in center of town and walking distance from Aarhus’ wonderful museums. Note that if you have a car there is a large public parking garage a short walk from the hotel where you can park for a fraction of the valet cost. Staff will show you how to get there. Will stay here again.

Found this hotel to be utterly charming and we highly enjoyed our stay. Great staff, great location. Room wasn’t huge but looked beautiful. Generally, a delightful hotel - we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Aarhus

If your going to stay in Aarhus don't mess around, this place is great. The prices are competitive with other lesser quality hotels. Its right in the center of town across from the Cathedral. A short walk to the train station, tons of shopping and eating and right near the canal. There is quality inside and out, from the beautiful historic Elevator in the lobby to the mural covered walls depicting danish history to the finely appointed rooms and en-suite baths. I had a standard single which was one of their smaller rooms and it was fine. I never felt cramped. There's no noise issues. The included Breakfast offered an extensive selection of delicious food. I have stayed here twice (appox 20 days) and would definitely stay again.

This 175 years old hotel is very unique in its own way. Walls were painted during 2005(?) renovation by local artist...it's amazing every common area has Danish history painted. How you take it is completely up to you, but at beginning I was a little creeped. Room is descent size, especially for building of this age. My room was a twin, bed was comfortable but only one small pillow. Work desk has pretty of space to sores laptop, note pad, etc. Shower and toilet are right next to beach other separated by very tiny glass wall, and almost impossible to keep shower water from spreading to the toilet area, not smart design. Room is covered with many painting, decoration, etc. a little overwhelming. Internet connection was superb. Make sure you obtain password at front. Breakfast was good, had patently of selection that you would expect from any hotel with. Choice of hot meal and cold. I think they are all home made...breads were really good. Fitness center was nicely equipped with cardio machine and pretty of free weights. The downside was I couldn't control room temp and was warm, had to open window all night. Parking is difficult (also the city was going through huge construction everywhere so I just couldn't get to hotel). Overall this is a very nice little hotel and would recommend.

Super friendly staff, seriously historic location, and huge spacious rooms. The bathroom was the size of a NYC entire hotel room! It's centrally located to cafes, shopping and dining. It's a walkable and easily bikes city and this is a top choice above all others.

Had a friend and his son from the States stay here during a visit and they liked the place, and they've stayed in a lot of hotels across Europe, the U.S., and Canada. Seemed very nice when I stopped by and conveniently located for us. Staff was very friendly and dealt with his autistic son exceptionally well. Friend said he'd stay here again if/when he comes back. Will think about this place when my own family come to visit and I'm not up to being around them all day & night.
