Outstanding service from reception. After a minor issue we were upgraded in a beautiful room with exquisite furnishings. A highlight of the room was the auto window shutters on the outside which blocked all light during the night. Also the balcony sun awning which operated automatically to adjust heat or wind. A beautiful view of the lake. |Staff were very helpful and friendly. The place had a great ambience. Breakfast offered a good selection. Would recommend.

Lovely place right on the promenade. The room we had is very spacious. The balcony is huge. The view amazing. The breakfast buffet is fine and the staff knowleadgeable and friendly. Regarding the breakfast buffet: more variety would have been welcome. We stayed four days an only on the dourth day were the potatoes different. The coconut pound cake was the same everyday. For a five star, I d expect more. The entrance to the parking is very tight but they will take your car to it if you want.

Hotel is generally excellent. Have to admit, I can see were folks are coming from who call it dated - could do with a refurb... we had a 5th floor suite and the bathroom was in dire need of renovation, but everything else was fine - well apart from the British TV channels dying, which did not impress my good lady wife one little bit! Staff were generally terrific, couldn't do enough to assist when called upon. Reception, especially Nicklas and Restaurant staff were particularly helpful.||The views from the roomy balcony over the lake were truly stunning! Location right on the lake was exceptional - I like to get up before dawn and walk - the trail along the lake in both directions was lit during darkness and it felt 100% safe 100% of the time - even for lone women (I saw a few walking/jogging).||Breakfast was super, but food offerings for the evening in the Cafe Bellagio were somewhat limited, menu-wise. Sinatra's Bar was awful - old Blue Eyes would be spinning in his grave. Ordered a Hot Chocolate one evening and they brought a glass of hot milk and a sachet of Chocolate which I had to mix myself - ridiculous! My wife ordered a coffee, mediocre. Unsurprising, then, that it was our only visit.||If you travel early September as we did, you might be lucky enough, as we were, to be able to attend a concert as part of the September Music Festival at the Fairmont Montreux's Le Petit Palace. Worth it for the experience and the price was quite reasonable. As well, in early September Montreux hosts a series of celebration days celebrating the birthday Freddie Mercury - a terrific experience with music and food shared with people from all across the globe.

Dated establishment. Standard hotel styling and rooms, nothing particularly special. If you book, get a lake side room for the balcony view. Room was hot, we kept our balcony door open to cool it down.

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Plaza in Montreux. We stayed here for 3 nights during a recent trip to Switzerland. The room was slightly smaller than expected, particularly as I had contacted the hotel beforehand for help selecting the most suitable option. In hindsight, a larger room would have been a better fit for us, and I feel the advice given was not entirely accurate.||That said, we had a beautiful lakeside room with a stunning view overlooking the lake — definitely a highlight of our stay. The room was spotlessly clean, and the in-room coffee was good! Special thanks to the housekeeping team, who are doing an excellent job.||We happened to experience a heatwave during our stay, and although the air-conditioning worked perfectly in terms of cooling the room, it was quite noisy and made it difficult to sleep at times. I’m not sure if this was specific to our room or a general issue.||Overall, we had some lovely days exploring the town and local sights. I would definitely stay here again and would gladly recommend the hotel to family and friends.

Great hotel & great location This is a great hotel, the facilities are great and so was the location. We were attending a show in the Auditorium Stravinsky and chose this hotel for the proximity. It was walking distance and really a good choice. You can not beat the views, see the pictures ;)

The breakfast was so good! I really liked the hotel. It seems a little dated but the staff makes up for that 100%. Everyone seemed so genuinely friendly and helpful. The only thing I found a little sad was that my wife and I were on our honeymoon (and stated that in our reservation) and they did nothing. Not that they're required to, but some decorating or something like that would have been nice.

Amazing hotel on the Lake, stunning views and perfectly located. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food great and rooms very spacious/comfortable. Close to Lake, shops and MOB train station. Would highly recommend and would return!
