If you're comparing across properties, know that Hotel Rubens is a solid choice. The hotel is located about a half block off a very busy street so is super walkable to restaurants and shops. All hotel staff members I encountered were friendly, professional, and provided efficient service. The room was fantastically modernized and spacious (Standard Double Room), well-decorated, and well-appointed with a mini fridge. The only challenge I encountered was around a thermostat that wouldn't respond to my preferred settings, which is unfortunately all too common in hotels these days. Because it was cool outside, the temp never became an issue. Beyond that, the bed was comfortable (I hate overly firm hotel beds and prefer something with "give"), the property itself is quiet, and the included breakfast provided plenty of options. When I wanted to explore a bit more of the city after check out, the hotel happily kept my bags in a secured closet which was appreciated as well. I loved this hotel and would absolutely return.

Almost perfect hotel - great location , friendly staffs, clean and big room for two. Booked for 3 nights but waking up 6 am on Monday morning, 6:30 am following two early morning. It’s different from the notice of building construction works next door. I don’t need a morning call for my holiday.

This is a very nice hotel that is centrally located. Good breakfasts. . We stayed for six nights and were initially assigned a room facing the street. It was noisy so we were moved to a room on the other side of the building, which was very quiet.

Nice hotel, pity about the construction noise immediately outside our window of our deluxe twin room facing the rear so you might want to ask for a quiet room facing the street perhaps. Oh, and I personally LOATHE the open shower arrangement. I don’t know why they do this - for the slight convenience of not having to open and close a shower enclosure you end up with a flooded bathroom floor every shower. I think it’s a stupid idea. And I didn’t see anything before and so didn’t realise until too late that you were supposed to register something for the high-speed Internet because the speed that I got was pathetic between 1 and 5 Mbps download which was unacceptable so if I missed seeing that suggest that be made a bit more obvious to hotel guests

On a business trip I am so thankful to find a hotel with such comfortable beds & rooms. The breakfast was great too and all the staff so friendly and welcoming! I hardly ever rate hotels, but had to in this case!

Google
The hotel has a great location and nice staff. Tomas was very professional. The reason why I only gave 4 stars is the bathroom and the construction noise. The room (deluxe garden view) was spacious and clean. They answer messages right away, a big plus in customer service.

A nice stay at this hotel. The room was nice, very big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was incredible and all the staff was kind and professional. I strongly recommend this place to stay if you visit Antwerpen. The location isl perfect as well.

We booked a room with "garden view". In fact it was "construction side view". The toilett within the room was a bit smelly and beds were so well protected with plastic covers that we sweated a lot. Breakfast was ok, we liked the freshly squized orange juis.

Yelp
Absolutely excellent stay. Absolutely excellent location on a quiet alley just steps to the old town. We had a suite with full living room including a dining room table, and then a separate bedroom with a comfortable king bed. Glorious bathtub. Shower a bit cold since it has open glass (not fully enclosed), but this was only a minor inconvenience). Daily breakfast was delicious and included. Convenient choice of beverages in lobby. Very accommodating and kind front desk staff. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience staying at the Hotel Rubens. It is a very nice hotel on a quiet street one street over from Grote Markt. We booked a room with a cathedral view, so we were on the top floor with a view of the top of the cathedral. It was so quiet and lovely. The rooms have recently been remodeled, so the room was much bigger and nicer than we expected. We had a separate sitting area with TV and a very nice, modern bathroom. Our booking included a free breakfast which was also amazing. They offer a large assortment of hot and cold items; the usual standard breakfast fare, but it was very nice. One of the staff members, Thomas, helped us a bunch when we had a little trouble with the subway system and wanted to take the above ground tram instead. He was very helpful and also printed us some time tables for our train to Bruges. The hotel also gave me a small gift since we were there to celebrate my birthday! It was so nice and thoughtful and I would highly recommend this hotel to all of my friends.
