Binigaus Vell, near Es Migjorn Gran, Menorca - Explore & Book

"Bucolic: an adjective relating to the pleasant aspects of the countryside and country life. This is a perfect description of Binigaus Vell. Tucked down a narrow lane, surrounded by sprawling horse pastures, dry stone walls and birdsong, this 19th-century cheese farm was sympathetically converted, emerging - white exterior and terracotta roof intact - as a peaceful and authentic Menorcan retreat for chilled-out couples and those seeking a taste of the simple life. But rest assured it’s not all rustic charm. The creative Mediterranean restaurant serves delectable dinners beneath the stars, sleek white loungers line the turquoise pool and the 27 welcoming rooms are rich with comforts and mod cons - most also have far-reaching views or private terraces. Beyond the estate the charm offensive continues: historic settlements, cycle paths, rural walks and white-sand beaches await. Highs Great beaches nearby (walk 2km cross country or drive), and paths from the hotel for hiking, horse riding and cyclingRelaxed breakfasts and delicious dinnersA pretty pool make lazy days very appealing, plus there's lots of space to chill out inA welcoming team who can help you explore the island - it’s an easy drive to all the highlightsWe particularly liked the romantic Superior Rooms in the small stable block, and the Junior Suite terraces Lows Dinner can be pricey and we’ve heard reports of slow table serviceMost room terraces aren't very private, but their outlooks are lovelyYou’ll want a car, as it’s fairly isolated - a 10-minute drive to the village, a little longer to beachesStandard Rooms lack outdoor space and are a little darkKeep in mind that children (and babies) are included in the headcount for Standard and Superior room occupancies" - Melissa Burfitt

First impressions .. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Anna at reception made us very welcome and showed us where to find everything before showing us to our room, the granary has been converted into 6 rooms. Its a little bit away from the main block, but literally a two minute walk. |The room was adequate, beds perhaps a little soft for us, but thats a personal thing. Lovely pillows ! Bathroom had an amazing shower, and came with great quality wash gel and shampoo. |A little terrace outside with two chairs plus two deckchairs. Being a bit older, Id have preferred sunloungers as the deck chairs, while comfortable, were nigh impossible for me to get out of ! ||The pool area was never crowded, the water refreshingly cool.||There is no bar here, although they do serve drinks with dinner. There is however an honesty bar which was well stocked. Just take what you want and leave a note with your room number||The restaurant food was lovely, the breakfasts had loads of choice and tho self service, there were always staff on hand if you couldn’t find what you wanted.|Id have liked to see a change in the menu some evenings, or maybe just add a special dish daily.|The closest village is about a mile away up a narrow windy road. We ate out a couple of nights at Es Chic there , just for a change. ||We wanted a peaceful, relaxing break and we got that here. So quiet, yet only about 15 minutes from lovely beaches by car. |Highly recommended.

The atmosphere is amazing and all the staff is kind and very helpful with everything! They know all the good spots to go, Anna from the reception was amazing! If you have the time also do the horse riding! It was magical! Perfect service, amazing quality of products! We will be back! The only thing is that the honesty bar closes at 11pm… and during the super hot season flies are everywhere

This is a gem of a place. We are near the end of an 11 night stay in this beautiful hotel - Everything has been faultless. It’s in a quieter more rural part of Menorca, though ideally situated to explore the island, as well as being less than 10 mins by car from Sant Tomas beach.|The grounds are beautiful, the staff know how to deliver true hospitality in the friendliest way - outstanding!|The pool is lovely as are the rooms - whilst here we viewed one of the deluxe suites which are stunning! We have just booked one for next year.||Hiring a car has given us freedom to explore this beautiful island, with the longest journeys being around 30 mins by car from the hotel - A small car is advisable as some of the roads are narrower in the more rural areas.||Fred & Carolyn

A gem place! feeling at home in a natural haven, total disconnection. A very beautiful garden and pool, quiet outdoor and indoor areas , spacious family rooms, and the staff is adorable. We had a small issue and the management proactively offered to help without hesitating. It's so pleasant not to even have to ask nor insist for a problem to be resolved. It's also in the way unforeseen events are handled that you see the commitment and the quality of the staff and management. A very considerate and respectful approach to the customer. Everything was done to make our stay impeccable and worry-free.we will certainly come back

Even before we arrived, I had formed a very good impression of this hotel, thanks to Andres’ prompt and positive answers to my requests.||After a 12 night stay, I am more than impressed. It is charming in style. Everything is immaculate. The garden has been cleverly designed with patchworks of flowers. Our room, a Junior Suite De Luxe was huge and very practical. The 2 room terraces are definitely a bonus. ||The restaurant’s terrace is very pleasant, the service efficient, friendly and always with a smile.|The food on the whole was good. Breakfast is a huge choice to satisfy all appetites. ||Andres’ explanations of the island were very helpful and enabled us to make the most of our stay.||

Fantastic family run hotel with very attentive staff that has been there for years. They have rooms that fit 4 so perfect for our family. The setting is stunning and you never feel is busy. Nice breakfast with local delicacies and very nice dinner offering with high quality products. Always helpful from giving advice to lending chairs to sand toys. It is put second tine there and we will surely repeat.

What an amazing and relaxing stay at BinigausVell****... If you're looking for a quiet and charming typical Minorquin hotel, this is the place to go. Located in the countryside, in the center of the island (perfect to explore) you will find it absolutely peaceful as the only noises you'll hear are from the cicadas. Our room was spacious, clean and equiped with both AC and a private terrace. Food wise, the breakfast buffet is generous with local specialties on top of the usual basics (fruits, müesli, coffee, tea, cheeses and cold cuts ; plus eggs on demand, prepared to your taste). We've also enjoyed the swimming pool and the restaurant, where we had a really nice dinner (quality and delicious dishes). I will go back.

My wife and I had a great stay of three nights at the Rural Binigaus Vell recently. The property is even lovelier than the pictures suggest. The food, services and accommodations were all excellent. We look forward to another stay. There is quite a selection of accommodations and prices depending on what you prefer to spend. The hotel is in a very central location. (Don't worry too much about the road into the property just take it a bit slow.) We will visit again for a longer stay soon. My wife and I loved the 'Honesty Bar' because, honestly, the prices were great!
