It was great to sleep in a cave! Our cave (small flat with two bedrooms, bathroom + small kitchen in the living room) was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good too, and we loved the company of the many dogs and cats of the owner! Our dog was welcome there. The place is very quiet: it is a great choice for people who like nature and tranquillity.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights on our 10 day driving tour. The cave apartment was beautifully decorated. We sat on the patio in the evenings and watched the amazing sunsets over the Sierra Nevada's. Breakfasts were simple and wholesome. Rolanda and his wife were wonderful hosts.

Looked forward to staying in a cave which was described as having modern comforts. It was definitely a cave. Cool, which was very welcome from the heat in early September. Equipment in the cave was very dated and tatty though. The tv didn't work and there was no wifi. Tables were damaged. The shower room felt dirty due to the rough finish and horrible wooden toilet seats (although in fairness I think it was clean). Access to the houses is down a dust road so you would drive past thinking there is no way it could be down there. Owner was pleasant but seemed put out that we left earlier in the morning than I said we would as it got him out of bed (9 am is not unreasonable in my view). An experience indeed but not one I would repeat or recommend unless you really want to spend a night in a cave.

We had an overall lovely time here, staying for 2 nights in the Stable Cave. Sunsets were amazing, we loved watching the bats swooping overhead. Our host, a very helpful and interesting guy looked after us well and fed us his basic but home made breakfast. We rate the home grown peach and cherry jams highly. On arrival we were assigned to the Tibet cave which we were disappointed with due to its size and proximity to the pool. When we asked to change we were delighted with our 5 room mansion, beautifully decorated and very comfortable (all except the bed).||If you visit at the beginning of September check out if the festival is happening, we just missed it unfortunately but watching the whole town throwing paint on the running man sounded great.

We had a great one-night stay at Rolands caves and felt sorry we weren't able to stay longer. Lovely cosy, fully equipped, quiet and cool cave-room, a great host and nice breakfast. Environment was amazing, and so are the host and his pets!

I stayed here in for about 10 days in July 2012 with a group of friends. It's a beautiful place and I would highly recommend it. Rolando and Maria are terrific hosts. It's a little tricky to find. Take the 2nd exit for Granada if travelling from Malaga/Granada. The cave appartments are off the road on a gravel track. ||||The caves are carved from the mountain. Most of the work was done by the Maria and Rollando. It overlooks the town and it's so peaceful a night. There's a nice pool and hot tub and enough cooking facilities to cook your meals. The real selling point of this gem is that is unique in a world where it's hard to travel without staying in a hotel chain. Cuevas de Rollando is typical of the area and it has character that's hard to find.

How often do you get to sleep in a cave? The rooms are very comfortable, the host (German) spoke excellent English and was very friendly.||||The location is a bit tricky, so study the maps carefully. There is a sign on the left (heading into town) which takes you across a dry river bed. If you look at the photos, you'll know which driveway on the left is the one to take.||||The view from the hotel is very nice and there are spots where you can sit and look out over the town below.

Marvellous other worldy cave apartments. About 2 kilometres from Guadix interesting town centre a marvellous "experience". We stayed over New Year log fires were a great decision.
