Hotel Rural El Navío

I would recommend staying at Hotel Rural El Navio. It offers good value and has plenty of character. We had a lovely balcony view over the sea with the sunset in the evening. Friendly service, good breakfast. A short walk to the beach but a car would be necessary to explore the island. It would make a good base away from the busy beach resorts.

What a lovely hotel - tucked away in a banana plantation 20 mins walk from Alcala. Views across the sea to La Gomera, Really nice breakfast, spotlessly clean, great sea view balconies.Pool area really nice. Dinner a bit variable otherwise 5 stars !! Would definitely go back

Love this place. It's so peaceful and quiet. Huge balcony with a stunning view of La Gomera over the banana plantation. The pool area is also lovely. It's about a 2km walk into the village where there are many great restaurants. Great base for hiking and walking. Staff are very friendly but not intrusive. Great breakfast and evening meals available. 💛🍌

This is a family run business in a lovely quiet setting away from the usual tourist hotspots. It is in a banana plantation which adds to the unique feel and beauty of this place. Fresh eggs from the owners chickens are part of the breakfast along with delicious baked bananas. The pool is beautiful and clean with a nice setting to relax, read and cool off. The sound of the sea is wonderful and the beach is just a 5minute walk through the plantation. From there you can walk or run along the smooth paths along the coastline to the local town 4km away. This is a great hub if you are cycling in Tenerife and want to enjoy Masca. Highly recommended.

We revisited this hotel after a break of 10 years. It is in a very peaceful location in the middle of a banana plantation. We found the place had gone downhill a fair bit from our previous visit. The welcome was not great. Very cold. We had a superior room that had a Nespresso coffee machine but we were expected to pay for the pods daily which felt very odd. Although a peaceful location the doors and furniture in the rooms were old and ill fitting so made lots of noise. We had dinner there two nights which was good.

This is a lovely rustic hotel close to Alcala in Tenerife, away from the noise of more popular tourists destinations but close enough to shops, bars, etc. Ideal for those who hire a car but we did not and were still able to move about easily. The rooms decor is slightly tired but charming and the overall place is within a large banana plantation. The service is very welcoming and friendly, food is lovely and the limited number of rooms for adults only means it is a very peaceful and relaxing place. Twice we had the hotel pool only for ourselves and the area is really nice. I would recommend it if you want to escape it all, but be not too far from amenities.

An idyllic setting, this is the ideal place to stay for those looking for peace and tranquility in an unspoilt part of the beautiful coastline of Tenerife. Lovely walks along the coastal path lead you to restaurants in either direction and it’s approximately 12 km to Los Gigantes with its bustling port and restaurants. So refreshing to stay somewhere so peaceful with beautiful birdsong. The breakfasts are varied and tasty and a match for any 5 star hotel. The evening meals are home cooked Spanish dishes which you can order after breakfast if you wish and are reasonably priced. A small, family run hotel that we’d recommend to anyone who wants a unique experience, away from the maddening crowds.

We stayed here for the third time and enjoyed every minute of it. The sunset view towards La Gomera from the terrace is a ritual every day. The staff - family and receptionist Giselle- are wonderful nice people. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The whole ground of the hotel is in the midst of banana plantations of the finca (Alberto, one of the owners can give very interesting information on banana growing) and you can eat as many of the lovely sweet tangy Canarian bananas as you like. Breakfast is Canarian style with fresh produce from the finca, abundant and good. Same for the dinner which is cooked if ordered in the morning. The swimming pool is exquisite and we had many beautiful star gazing hours on the rooftop terrace . A place to return to again!
