I booked a room for a week and was a little afraid of the location being too isolated for a longer period of time but ended up loving the place so much! The most amazing sunsets AND sunrises (what!?) together with epic trails just outside ❤️ also the meals (most of them vegetarian🙏) were perfect, the people really nice and i felt really at home the whole time. Ended up feeling sad having to leave so soon :) but yes, the walls are thin and if you are into luxury it might not be the best choice for you.

The people, the environment, the accommodations, THE FOOD! And everything was simply PERFECT!! I'm so glad to have visited this place and stayed for the weekend.

NOT RECOMMENDED! My husband and I went to spend a different weekend, and we left early on Saturday. We stayed in the attic, which we knew would have a low ceiling, but not this low. That wasn't so bad, but the worst part was that to go to the bathroom, there is a very low beam that they don't mention on the website or show in the pictures, and they don't warn you about it. We hit our heads on it three times during the night. It's extremely unsafe. Additionally, there was no heating, only a heater that smelled like it was burning, and we found several hairs on the sheets that weren't ours. Also, the comforters had stains. It was a huge disappointment! We spoke with them, and they hide behind the excuse that they inform on the website that some areas have a height of 1.50 meters, but they don't mention the beam. There was no "how are you?" or anything, no offer of compensation. It's better to pay more and stay at the Parador just across the street or at a real rural house.

The positive first: Cruz de Tejeda is amazing with the views and the hiking trails. In the hotel they have an amazing salon from which you can see as well sunset and sunrise (though the windows needed cleaning). The most relevant: - The mattress in our room was super old and hard. Although I prefer it when they are slightly harder than average I stayed awake for hours. - The pillows are super thin and weak. So together with mattress it was not much better then sleeping on a carpet on the floor. Also negative about the room - The isolation was really bed. You heard everyone walking, talking. You heard even the toilet use of your neighbor. - There was only one blanket although we booked for two. - The blanket did not even had a real linen (just some thin fabric placed below the blanket. At the end I had my worst night for several years. I stayed awake for more than 3 hours until I was that tired that I even slept with these conditions. In the morning it was not possible to sleep either since you heard every other guest walking through the floor. This might be an awesome location. But the management does not really care to keep it good.

Absolutely perfect! Clean, comfortable, friendly, great food, lovely outside seating places, beautiful garden. Staff were so helpful and kind we felt like we made new friends. Perfect location for hiking the spectacular scenery, for us it was a little piece of paradise during a long Scottish winter. Huge thanks to everyone there

Loved this place. Friendly, comfortable and reasonable price. Great location for walking. The hotel is simple but has everything you would want (except a bar but a short walk across the road). The restaurant was a gem with simple rustic food, well cooked and informally served.

Small and basic but did the job. Low ceilings in the loft room. Shared TV available in the common space and balcony to enjoy a beer from the market stalls across the road. Friendly staff and decent on site French restaurant.

I will start by saying this is a beautiful idea... However, it is not for everyone's taste. This hotel is for hikers and adrenaline junkies. This hotel is for those who want to go back to basics and have a simple stay. This hotel is for those who are used to the mountains, the windy roads, and living-on-the-egde (literally!). The hotel has communual areas (deceiving on pictures). The parking is very awkward and limited along with the dinner's. Friendly service but not luxury. Food is not up to high standards, not worth the price. It is a French-Dutch influence hotel (not Spanish culture if you are looking for that). Surprises will be full parking, breakfast as an extra cost per day (not much choice with that being the location it is at, interesting guests (you hear it all). Bedrooms lack necessities and are very old-fashioned and simple. Be aware that this location is the heart of very scary, narrow, long, unsafe windy roads that go on forever (if you are not used to that). Not for everyone! Unique and beautifully decorated with spectacular views.
