Hotel Rural El Refugio

Good value for money but very basic. The rooms had very small single beds and a tiny bathroom. You could hear every sound from every bathroom in the lounge! ||Despite being in an attic room there was an ant infestation in our room despite there being ant powder everywhere. ||The communal lounge was nice and large, a nice place to relax. ||The food was good, the staff were lovely.

After a long hike I was wet through, cold and hungry. Although this fantastic hotel was fully booked the girl on reception Selina, was incredibly helpful. Helped me find another hotel.and ordered me a taxi. Above and beyond. Thank you!

Didn’t stay here but dropped in for their buffet breakfast as we walked the Camino and it was incredible 👌 Super cheap but extremely delicious and varied! We ate so much and it was amazing to fill ourself before a long walk that day! Staff are really friendly and kind…I wish we could have stayed here but it was fully booked as we passed. It looked beautiful and very clean. Fellow hikers go and get breakfast here it’s cheap and you will be set for the day 💪 Big thanks to this hotel! We appreciate you!

The hotel's concept is nice. The room and the common area looks like the interior of a Gran Canary household (furniture, decoration pieces). However, there was an army of tiny ants that 'attacked' my backpack where I had lollipops. They seem to come from underneath the windowsill. It saddened our stay. It was raining and the common room's ceiling was leaking in multiple places.

Unfortunately, I did not get to stay here. On their website, they showed availability, however, they rejected three different credit card over 6 times. I sent them an email to inquire and hoping to get a room for the night but they read the email and did not bother to reply. Very frustrating process. It was only after I called them that they said the rooms were all full despite showing availability on their website.

Fabulous little hotel up, I mean up in the mountains, stayed here for a week, rooms were comfortable, breakfast was included, nice hot or cold selection, had dinner one evening great selection and service, it was the tail end of the storm when we were there so it was a tad wet everywhere, the hotel is on the camino walk so there are always people wandering around on the walk,so much so there were landslides on the rd up to the hotel, the roads are narrow but wide enough for two cars to pass, just.

I booked a room for a week and was a little afraid of the location being too isolated for a longer period of time but ended up loving the place so much! The most amazing sunsets AND sunrises (what!?) together with epic trails just outside ❤️ also the meals (most of them vegetarian🙏) were perfect, the people really nice and i felt really at home the whole time. Ended up feeling sad having to leave so soon :) but yes, the walls are thin and if you are into luxury it might not be the best choice for you.

Is grate place but if you would like to have a cappuccino in the during the day you will need to go in another place . But they have. A grate staff the room is not to grate but is our choice .
