Very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and the food was amazing. We stayed 2 nights and had delicious veal and lamb, an amazing baked rice dish with pork and a great yogurt dessert. Breakfast was also great. I’d love to go back.

Incredible stay. One or the best places I’ve ever stayed, and not because of its luxury (the rooms were spotless and the bathroom was very comfortable, with hot showers and towel heater) but because of the service. The reception welcomed us beautifully and the food was so flavourful, you could tell all the ingredients were locally sourced and prepared with care and attention to detail. We had wonderful corn bread with blue cheese, honey and nuts, a lamb burger with fresh cut potatoes and a goat stew. The local cider is also beautifully fermented, delicate like a natural wine which passed perfectly with the corn dish. Breakfast costs only 8€ and it’s also fresh and ready for when you wake up. I already want to come back. Hint: pay in cash is better for the locals, the owners are a bit from an older generation and digitalised procedures aren’t their strength.

Absolutely amazing hotel, we loved it! Room was cozy and clean, had everything we needed. The hotel has a restaurant attached to it which we ate at every day, it has lots of traditional Asturian food — delicious! The staff are excellent, they were patient with us when we talked in Spanish. Manuel is a great host, he took care of us and gave us recommendations for hikes according to the weather and our hiking ability. Also, the town of Sotres was a perfect spot for our trip to Picos, you can access a number of hiking trails from the hotel on foot. There’s also other restaurants in the town, as well as a general store nearby. Seriously one of our favorite places we have ever stayed at, would definitely go back!

We were rather forced here for lunch as it was the only place open in mid September. Unfortunately there was only the one vegetarian option, the croquettes caseras, which my wife told me was acceptable (hence 3 stars not 4). I had the cordero guisado, which sounds like lamb stew but in fact were lamb chops in sauce. However they were delicious, served with a few chips. With drinks and a desert came to €45. Rather pricey for what we received but the quality was very good. The actual restaurant was upstairs, quite rustic and the lady who served us spoke excellent English and was very efficient.

5.5 stars out of 5. Despite normal rooms as for this kind of a hotel (kept v. clean, no issues), its general ambience made me to write an opinion. Only improvement needed is a breakfast, however the lunch/dinner options were perfect. Been introduced to "arroz con leche" (bye bye creme brulee), poured the cider almost as a local, tried not to speak english as I found it better to improve my poor spanish and see how far i can get with my mistakes, ended speaking polish anyway (Sotres if full of tourists, but its still a middle of very special "nowhere"). About breakfast issue - bread could be better, menu could be improved generally (more vegetables and local cheese from my perspective). I understand that its difficult to organise it in such a remote place, but neverthless- picked this hotel to be out of sterile civilisation on purpose, its not a moan. Special thanks to all your staff and besos to Laura. Hope to visit you again next year.

Good experience for the hotel: The rooms are renovated and showers/bathrooms are great! Breakfast is ok albeit a bit scarce (packaged pastries, and only jamon to go with your bread, no cheese or eggs). The restaurant, however, is a delight: the ribs, lamb, cachopo and burger are outstanding! Service speaks great English and is very helpful. We also had a delightful vermouth de naranja, asparragus with goat cheese sauce, croquetas de setas and juicy, tender beef baos. A real treat!

The staff was very welcoming and accommodating and that made our stay especially nice. The room was very clean and tidy. We loved our stay. We also had food at the restaurant (highly recommended). The food was great and the service was superb. They had some interesting food options on the menu and the quality of the ingredients was excellent. The room for breakfast/restaurant has also been recently renovated and kept in very good condition, therefore very nice too. Only cons of the hotel: there is very little noise insulation between the rooms

I stayed 2 nights in Sotres. First night I ate tapas here, crispy pancakes with blue cheese, walnuts and honey.... really good and the cider, 3€ a bottle! I didn't finish the bottle, but the gentleman kept it for me for the following night, when I ate fabada. I recommend this place, staff are polite and efficient and the food is excellent. I will definitely be back again.
