Hotel Rural - Sidrería La Guaja

Lunch service not starting until 1pm. It's a very cold day, snowing overnight and the whole morning. I arrived at 12:35 and was allowed to wait inside. I ordered coffee with milk, which was perfect, hot, smooth and the right amount of milk. The lady took my order before 1pm. Had callos con garbanzo, bacalao a la tranca, flan and red wine from menu del dia. Very good value, tasty and generous portion.

Great food, and service. I specifically liked the mushroom risotto and the asturian cider. The lady who served us was very kind and gave us great service. We recommend the place as an obligatory stop for people that like amazing food for a fair price with an amazing view.

It's a beautiful tranquil property and setting. Really well looked after. It's super clean, just a lovely place to be. Evan stopped for dinner at their restaurant, which was full of locals. Set in the medieval part of town just next to the castle

We had the risotto and the bacalao. The risoto was great but the bacalao ‘guarnição’ was overcooked. A faint smell of something that may have stuck at the bottom while cooking. People are nice and prices are fair. Great visuals of The Valley below

Had the sanbrian fish dish and the sanbrian pulpo dish - both really bad. Pulpo was hard and chewy and the fish dish just tasted of burnt onion. Tourist trap. Have a drink for the views and location then find somewhere else. Bread was good.

Impressive views AND excellent "menú del día" (and price) on the terraza. Friendly service and I was convinced it was the best bar in all of La Puebla de Sanabria.
