First of all, La Orotava is a charming historic town definitely worth a stay of 2 or more days and The Rural Victoria is in the center but uphill so you get views of the town and coastline below. Both town and hotel are very romantic.|We were lucky to get a rooftop room and had amazing private panoramic views.|The room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was good and we had everything we needed.||I would give this 5 stars but there were NO reception services! When we checked in there was a note to use the code that was emailed to us ( rooms are accessed by a keypad). We did not receive an email so we had to telephone someone to get the code. During our entire 2 night/ 3 day stay there was no one to help us with anything.|We had to ask the kitchen staff for beach towels as they were the only staff we could find. I had a dental emergency and telephoned the same person who gave us the check in code, who was not helpful at all and told me to look on google for a dentist!||If you want restaurant or touring suggestions or any reception services, this is not your hotel! But if you are the independent type ( and have a sense of adventure and humor) and do not need these services, this is a lovely, well located hotel.||Only other complaint is that entrance to hotel and to hotel rooms is with keypads that are so old and faded, you can barely read the numbers. If they continue with the use of keypads, they need to be upgraded so they are readable.

The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent - beautifully presented food! We enjoyed the salmon and entrecôte dishes. The bread at the start was free and was very tasty with local dips and a sweet treat. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The local beer and wine were appreciated too !

A beautiful hotel with lots of history and charm. The room was very hot though with windows that could not be opened! In places it is in need of cosmetic updating. For example, the shower head was broken, and the fridge & safe did not work. We were only there for two nights so was fine for us. We were upgraded to the suite but was still very hot at night. The breakfast and restaurant were both excellent. Exceeded all expectations. The staff in both the restaurant and reception with both were incredible. If I was on an autumn to spring stay I would stay again as it be cooler. As a base to explore La Orotava I would recommend!

Found this on Booking.com, and it was our first nights stay in Tenerife. While it is steeply uphill when coming from the bus station (take a taxi!), it is so convenient to the old part of the city which made it worthwhile . Although it had remote check-in and we arrived about an hour early, the delightful maid saw that we could access our room. The rooms are spacious and charming and have everything one could need. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is an attractive, old fashioned property. The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout. Our room was a reasonable size & had the benefit of a large terrace, with a couple of sun loungers and a table & chairs. However, the rooms are in need of an upgrade. The bathroom looked unchanged from the 1970s & the carpet was very tired, although the bed was comfortable enough. The breakfast was very poor - a derisory buffet, plus some over-cooked eggs. However, we had dinner there and the food, while not cheap, was excellent, with good service as well

Really unhappy with the hotel. Our room was not made up with extra bed as reserved. There are no staff present. They are supposed to be available by phone 24 hours, but no one answers the phone. Even the number listed as emergency is not answered. Tried calling them 20+ times. So now we have a room missing linens, duvet and so on... Oh, and no air conditioning and the windows are not possible to open. Recommendation: Stay away and find a better hotel...

This is a charming traditional colonial house built round a courtyard which has been glassed over to create a lovely breakfast room. Our room on the third floor was a little small but comfortable and with a nice spacious bathroom, I think the second floor rooms are better if a little dearer. On the plus side it opened out on to the roof terrace which had a marvellous view of Teide (cloud permitting) in one direction, and over the town to the sea in the other. Magical at night. The breakfasts are excellent: a choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereals, eggs done in a variety of ways, bacon or ham. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our only criticisms are that the wifi is very patchy but we did manage to find a corner on the landing with a couple of chairs right next to the router. Although the hotel advertises free parking on site (not reservable) it has only 3 spaces for 14 rooms so it is not always easy to get a slot. There is street parking too but few spaces. On one occasion we had to park overnight in the public car park about 10 minutes walk away. Excellent value.

I didn’t stay the hotel, which looked really pleasant actually, so this review is for the restaurant only. ||I loved the old authentic house- it definitely has a soul and looks beautiful. |The service was excellent. The local Tajinaste wine and the fois gras toasts were absolutely delicious. ||I was not particularly keen on the fesert I tried but I guess this is a question of personal taste. All in all the restaurant was a good experience and I’d recommend it.

Yelp
The food here was fine and very reasonably priced. However, it was nothing to write home about. I saw the five star reviews and I was expecting magic. Instead, I got OK pork and fries and a so-so red wine that I can't even remember the name of. Again, nothing wrong with the food but nothing special. The service was very nice and I think it's a fine option for lunch if you're in the area.

Yelp
My mother and I decided to stay at this hotel after seeing it recommended on our lonely planet guidebook, we immediately received a kind welcome to this intimate locale from the manager Eladio. On our second night we decided to not go out and try the food here, our only disappointment was that we had not come the night before. The food was divine, I had a delicious black Canarian pork burger with caramelized onions and my mother had an interesting yet delicious pumpkin and cheese salad. Not only the taste but the presentation and service was fantastic. We are currently rerouting tomorrow's travels as to be able to come here again; this is a must for any trip not only to La Orotava but to the whole Canary Islands.

Yelp
We went there for our first wedding anniversary last year and this year decided to go back there to celebrate our second anniversary. The food is one of the best on the island. Last year we had beef and rabbit which were excellent. This year I had the best duck confit I've ever had while my husband had lamb and it was truly delicious. The service is excellent if Miguel who is a sommelier is there. He actually remembered us from last year. And since he is a sommelier, do ask him for recommendation on wine. We've never been disappointed by his choice. Make a reservation whether you stay at the hotel or not. I think the maximum guests is 15 (and not arriving at the same time) which is reasonable though given there's only one waiter and one chef and one assistance in the kitchen.

Yelp
Everything about this place has been wonderful, from the, to the food, to the people. This is food that is expertly crafted any beautifully plated with love and attention to detail. The chef's appreciation for great ingredients does not go unnoticed. This is a restaurant which is worth making a trip to La Oratava for, whether or not you are a foodie. Very inexpensive, especially given the quality. The hotel is lovely, as well.
