This is to share a horrendous experience I had with The Sahara Star, Mumbai and despite my multiple attempts to share my experience, I was talked down, disrespected and threatened to do whatever I wish to do to express my concerns and share it with others.
1 Star (If I could give zero stars, I would!)Hotel Sahara star is an absolute disgrace to the 5-star category—worse than a 2-star lodge. Our stay was a nightmare from start to finish, and we had to cancel our extended booking after enduring two nights of abysmal service.The room, supposedly a "premier" option with a bathtub, was a hygienic disaster. There were stains on the cushions, flies all over, and amenities provided only for one person despite it being a double-occupancy room. Basic essentials like bath salts and bubble bath, which were part of the room’s USP, were missing. When questioned, the staff shrugged it off with "I don’t know; I’m new." It took over 30 minutes just to bring basic items for two people, including an additional glass—absolutely unacceptable.The level of hygiene was horrifying. There were flies in the room, and shockingly, even in the cake they delivered to the room had insects crawling. Yes, insects and flies inside the cake! I have attached pics as well. This was utterly disgusting and made us sick after consuming it. A so-called luxury hotel serving food contaminated with flies? Completely unacceptable.Breakfast was another disaster. We were made to wait 15-20 minutes, and even after that, they kept shifting us between tables as if they couldn’t manage the seating arrangements. The staff were rude, disorganized, and completely incapable of handling guests. The food quality was below average, and their attitude made the experience even worse.The night manager’s behavior was appalling. While we raised legitimate concerns, he was busy fidgeting with his phone instead of listening to us. When we requested bubble bath for the room, his response was, "It’s not in our policy," without even bothering to check. The next day, another staff member confirmed that bubble bath is available, proving the night manager didn’t even know what the hotel offers. How can a 5-star property employ such incompetent and untrained staff?As if things couldn’t get worse, their response to our complaints was nothing short of a joke. After reporting the flies in the food, they claimed they needed 24 hours to investigate. What kind of service is this? Their resolution? A pathetic offer of complimentary food for our next stay. Do they seriously think anyone would return after this horrendous experience?This hotel lacks the basic standards of hygiene, service, and hospitality. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion for us. To anyone considering this hotel: don’t waste your time, money or your sanity here. This is a poorly managed, unhygienic, and overpriced establishment with staff who have no sense of customer service. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.Avoid this place at all costs if you value cleanliness, professionalism, and basic human decency . Absolutely disgraceful!
