Very nice hotel especially if you have a room viewing the ocean. The one I stayed in had a bathtub with hot tub functions, and a heated tile floor for added luxury. Great place to rest for me as I was touring the island by motorbike and had to stay an extra night to due to bad weather. There isn’t a whole lot going on in the area other than the pizza restaurant and burger bar, the local grocery store closes before 7pm. But if you want a quiet place to relax by the ocean, this is a great spot. Complimentary parking in their underground garage is a great amenity for your vehicle as well.

We had our last night in Dunedin New Zealand. We had an ocean view. The room was clean, warm and inviting with a gorgeous few nice sectional couch. As you can see in the videos and pictures, the hospitality of New Zealand people are amazing. All resorts come with toaster hot water maker, tea coffee, a refrigerator, real creamer milk. They literally give you a bottle of milk. Will you also enjoyed the convenience of the location? They have a saltwater pole which we didn't use but a lot of people said it was amazing. It was heated and they give you free vouchers for that. The parking is underground. It's so easily and conveniently located right by the beach. Lots of restaurants We would definitely recommend anyone traveling here. We spent $200 us per night. Well worth it. Our last night of relaxation. Nice dinner out and beautiful views.

So I had issues with this place. Being upfront there was an issue with the booking which was 100% my fault but I will say this hotel is very inflexible and grabby with customer's money, but they can be just be aware that if you need to change things in your itinerary this is not the place to stay. Despite costing me upwards of $500 that would bring my rating down to 4/5. Putting that aside you pay around $275 for the room and quite frankly it's just not that good for the price. Ok now it becomes a 3 star rating. Then I think about the check-in process, I used a work travel agency and when I gave them my card they said "that's not the card you paid with", they issued a pre-authorization charge which I couldn't pay wave. Just something I don't want to be mucking around with when it's late. Ok that 3-stars now became a 2-stars. The location is nice but out of the way. It's not a terrible hotel but my stay was rather unpleasant, if it was a really nice hotel I'd go out of my way to stay there but I can't honestly say I want to stay there again. Ever.

We love the Hotel St Clair ... well located, stunning views but this trip in the dead of winter was so cold, heat pumps not working and room is freezing. Staff apologetic and offered upgrades but every room a fridge. We will be back in the summer !

Great location and view by the beach h but unfortunately our weekend away was tainted by a room/bed mix up. The receptionist on check in was unable to offer a solution and we spent the weekend going between receptionists to try and get a resolution. Its a shame management do not care about their customers satisfaction. Not what you would expect for the $$$

I agree with the previous review |It was shockingly bad |This is a 3star hotel rating not luxury at all |The rooms are old, bed was comfortable |Check in was fine |Worst part was for us on the four floor exiting as the lift was getting maintenance done!!! |We went out for breakfast saw the receptionist on the way out she said have a nice breakfast |We came back to checkout at 10 we had already packed to leave when we went to the lift a piece of paper was attached to say the lift was out of use for “maintanance” |Why couldn’t they tell us that when we checked in let alone when we saw the receptionist when we went for breakfast !!!! Level 4 ! & 8 flights of stairs with all our luggage. We went to the receptionist again to ask why we weren’t informed |Her answer was “ I’m only doing as I’m told “ we are in our 70’s you’ve got to be joking |Sort it out it was disgusting no help with that !!!!

A very warm welcome. |Accommodation : Premier Ocean View: lovely room on the 1st floor overlooking the beach. |The room is spacious and very clean.|You can take advantage of the pleasant seawater swimming pool nearby.|The hotel is not close to Dunedin city centre. It takes about 10 minutes by car to get there.|Underground parking available, but we sometimes had to park outside due to a lack of spaces.

Room had everything needed as well as a super comfy sofa and an amazing view across the ocean - it was also fun watching people trying to park!!|Friendly reception, powerful shower and close proximity to a few restaurants. Free public parking outside but also plentiful private secure parking under hotel with direct access via stairs/lift which is great on a rainy day! Only negative was no milk in the fridge for tea/coffee in the morning
