I was intrigued by the hotel's pretty exterior and assumed the inside would be similar: a scattering of antique furniture, old photographs of the magnificent town, fresh flowers . . . nope. Attacked in the 1970s/80s and more recently, the hotel retains nothing of any character inside but it's a clean, blank option if that doesn't bother you, and it is very well placed for visiting the historic town centre.||I was a bit mystified by the fact it's a three star establishment; two would be more appropriate, judging by other two starred I have stayed in. It's basic, no hint of luxury and||our bathroom, was well due for refurb to be three star. The other thing, and I'm not in the habit of moaning - check my other reviews - was that the pillows were terrible. For three stars I would expect more than the cubes of sponge type . . . ||Apart from the pillow problem which did give me a less than good sleep, the hotel was very quiet, even though fully-booked, and there was no street noise.
