We arrived in Bastia, Corsica on the overnight ferry, and decided the l'ile rousse was a bit too touristy for us, so continued a little further down the coast to the pretty beach village of Algajora. The Hotel StJoseph was beautiful-private parking, a large, comfortable room, with French windows looking out to sea. Wonderful hot shower, a quiet environment, but just off the main road, with three very nice restaurants within 200m. The local train, running from l'ile Rousse to Calvi, was a 2-minute walk away. Breakfast, included in the room rate, was also great - generous servings of fresh baguette, orange juice and patisseries, lots of hot, fresh coffee or tea. Our hosts, and the family dog, were friendly and helpful. All in all, a great experience. My husband was not very well when we arrived, and we spent an extra night, allowing him the peace and quiet he needed to recover. Walking around the little bay was very relaxing, and it is a great little beach for swimming.
