The place is nice if you are able to get a hold of someone, they never answer or respond booking this place is nearly impossible because they don’t care.

This is definitely a nice location, the place is very peaceful, you will be surrounded with water, trees, birds and butterflies. ||||People from front desk is very helpful, they offer you many services for rent: kayaks, standup paddle board, tubing, etc.||||The hotel is located near the "El salto del Meco" waterfall, you can walk some stairs that offers you a great view of the waterfall, you can also swim a short distance and you will have amazing views and feels from the waterfall.||||Besides the hotel there is a small club in which they also rent some boat trips (lancha) is cheap, they give you lifejackets.||||Place is very family friendly. The river is very safe for kids, you can have a lifejacket from the front desk and they can enter and swim on the river without any problem. It is better to have water-shoes, because there are rocks and some underwater tree roots. They have a swing at the edge of the river, you have to try it, is a very good experience.||||Rooms are very clean and spacious. They have open showers, very nice experience.||||The hotel has its own restaurant "El Mirador", food is very good. One day seems they were struggling because they opened 30 minutes later than the hour they supposed to open for lunch. The hotel offers free breakfast, is very good, the restaurants opens late for breakfast if you are a person that have breakfast early morning, you will need to find a different alternative. ||||Swimming pool is good, it has two sections one with short depth for kids, and other section with more depth. At the edge of the pool there is a bar, good drinks and shakes, only thing is that is not open continuously, you need to check the hours, seems they start at 2:30pm.

We loved the location and facilities. The river is so refreshing to swim in. When we first arrived we were considering staying for two nights but there were little bugs in full attack mode that not even repellent would deter so we opted for just one night. For dinner we had the parrillia mar y tierra which was excellent. The outdoor shower was really cool and the king bed was very comfortable. Coffee was brought to our terrace at 8am which was a nice surprise. On entering the restaurant for breakfast we were greeted by very loud televisions and a poor breakfast. Loud TVs and natural beauty should never be mixed. The service was very good but in the end we felt that it was overpriced.

1. Bad customer service. The hotel is far from the city, so no internet once you are there. Called front desk to get information on how to get there as there is no information online and their local bus stations don’t show online as they are small towns(pueblitos) and not up-to-date with technology . Lady told us they don’t help with this and had an attitude, really pushing for the call to end . From previous hotels we’ve stayed at, at similar high prices, this is expected. Or at least for them to offer some type of guidance on the steps to get there. We spent around $200 dlls on taxis to get there as we had to figure on our own. On the way back, we were able to figure out Better options and spent around $80 to go back to San Luis airport. 2. Another bad customer service example. I asked front desk if they had bug spray on sale and lady said no. Next day we sat in their lobby to rest after a water activity and in their display I could see they sold bug repellent lotion. The lady could have offered the repellent lotion as an alternative. 3. This is more of a camping like experience for the price of an all-inclusive resort, but without the benefits of one. Food was not included except for continental breakfast (fruit and coffee). Everything else was overpriced and honestly not the best tasting food or alcoholic drinks, with very limited options. Food is something I look forward to when I go on trips, so this greatly affects my decision on this hotel. What was included in the price was an acitivity In the waterfall per day, so that was a plus. 4. The view was beautiful and there was a 200 steps stairs along the waterfall to get to the restaurant where all meals take place. That can be a plus or a negative based on how much exercise you’re expecting. 5. There is no room service. No telephones, tv, wi-fi, no mini fridge, no personal phone service or wi-fi either. They don’t allow food from outside. Their restaurant closed early, around 9/10pm. As a whole, beautiful and amazing scenery with many activities and the tour guides were amazing and made the experience for us. I also loved that it was mango season and there were mangoes all over. Customer service could greatly improve, specially for the prices they are charging and being that the hotel is hard to get to. Food could also improve as it is a great part of the experience. Our room was beautiful, had no windows or doors, and the fact that no repellent offered for sell to us when I asked made us want to leave after the first day. I had many itchy dots the next day and wasn’t able to sleep well due to all the mosquito swatting. We will definitely be coming back for the waterfall and beautiful views as right next to the hotel there is an independent activities spot to do all activities for reasonable prices. I doubt we would stay at this hotel again, but if we did, it wouldn’t be for more than a day. I would like to add, if traveling alone as women, please be careful as being that the hotel is far and out of internet, phone service boundaries, many things could happen with untrustworthy individuals. We heard a couple of stories from the taxi drivers. ( this being the reason we wanted the hotel to reccomend someone to pick us up)

Landscape was fantastic. Staff was really friendly. Rooms were not so great, either open sheds (massive amount of insects will come in, but there were nets around the bed) or closed, uncomfortable tents. Breakfast isn’t worth to mention and if you’re used to european 4* hotels you’re not going to like this one. Go for a day trip instead and return home in the evening.

We spent three days and two nights at this location. We also visited Tamasopo. The Waterfall in Salto de Meco is spectacular. The river is turquoise blue and very clean and easy to float in. The hotel Salto de Meco is a rustic chic place with a few bungalows along the river. The bungalows are completely open to the jungle. the bed has a canopy. The bathroom and shower are outside, but private and enclosed on the sides. The upstairs bungalows are very nice, though rustic. The downstairs portion is more enclosed but doesn't have the charm. You must walk up an open staircase over 100 steps to get to their restaurant. You can drive up to it as well. The food was excellent and the service at the restaurant was great. The hotel staff are casual and not very attentive. Forget about the bar...none or minimal service. ||Overall, if you wish to be close to nature it is a beautiful place to stay. We are bird watchers so that was a pleasure for us. There are many tropical birds in this area flying around the site.

We traveled in June 2018 with My husband, 3 boys and my mother. We reserved the cabin for 6. It was very comfortable and really nice. My boys ages 10, 7, and 2 really enjoyed it. We stayed for 3 days and It was very relaxing to be disconnected from our day to day life. No TV, no WiFi, no internet. Nothing but absolutely family time. It was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away from the busy life that we sometimes get sucked into. We got into the a little canoe that was passing by as we were on the swing and they offered to take us all the way to the water fall and we did for a small fee. Also, my husband and 7 year old jumped from the cliff. It was quite an experience.

We spent 2 nights at this place and were amazed by the outdoor beauty, the river, waterfall, birds but terrible service. We couldn’t sleep because they put a family of 7 on the first floor of our cabin and they were very noisy. ||We had breakfast at he restaurant and it was ok but staff was not attentive at all. With the exception Jorge who took us on a paddle board ride, everyone else was very careless, including the manager. ||We’ll definitely loved to go back to El Meco but not to stay at the hotel.
