What was supposed to be a peaceful stay turned into one of the most distressing travel experiences I've had. Our in-room safe wasn’t working, and staff said it would be fixed the next day. While we were out, a hotel employee entered our room and accessed the safe without our permission despite prior instructions. This is a serious breach of privacy. When we confronted staff, the situation was met with mockery and a dismissive “sorry, it happens.” Only after mentioning the police and missing items did management step in not to resolve the issue, but to downplay it. They “allowed” us to check out early, but we were still overcharged for an extra night. When we returned to ask why, they claimed it was a mistake. Be aware: they match Booking.com rates but then charge higher if you decide to leave hotel due to unauthorized staff going through your belongings. We are still waiting for the refund for the night we didn’t stay. The hotel did acknowledge what happened and offered a vague apology, but the overall response was impersonal and evasive. If you value privacy and professionalism, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Great spot for a short stay before heading into the Dolomites. The hotel has a modern, stylish decor, a good breakfast with quality options, and an amazing infinity pool with breathtaking views. Perfect for a quick recharge before starting your mountain adventures

What was meant to be a peaceful and special getaway at Hotel Saltus turned into a stressful and upsetting experience due to serious breaches of trust and professionalism.||||We noticed that our in-room safe was not working and reported it to reception. A staff member arrived, appeared visibly uneasy, and told us a concierge would attend to it the next morning. We left for a short walk soon after.||||To our shock, a member of the hotel staff accessed our room and the in-room safe without our permission or presence — despite our clear instructions and prior agreement. This was a blatant security violation. Later, when we raised our concerns, the incident was met with mockery rather than accountability.||||The next morning, we decided to leave early. The same receptionist dismissed the situation with a sarcastic “Sorry, it happens,” and refused to cancel the remaining nights. When I insisted and mentioned contacting the police, only then did the manager get involved — but rather than sincerely address the misconduct, the focus seemed to be on containing the situation.||||We later received vague, impersonal replies that did not acknowledge what happened or take meaningful responsibility. This was not a matter of “emotional distress” — this was a clear case of inappropriate access and unprofessional conduct, and the hotel’s response reflected a culture that seems to tolerate it.||||On top of everything, we were overcharged for four nights instead of the three we stayed. Although a refund was promised, I am still waiting for it.||||No apology can undo this experience. I’m sharing this to warn other travelers: if you value your privacy, safety, and peace of mind, I strongly advise you to avoid this hotel.

It's a nice hotel with a really beautiful, modern lobby, but unfortunately some important details were not taken care of. First and foremost - the water in the infinity pool was way too cold, so it was difficult to use it, while it seemed to be the biggest asset of the hotel. Common areas like pool and sauna can be accessed also from a much cheaper hotel nearby so I would rather recommend staying in the cheaper one. Otherwise there are hotels in this price range with a much better value for money in the area.

We spent two nights and it was unbelievable and unforgettable experience. Believe me it is the write choice for you and do not miss it at all. The reception, the people, the rooms, the services, and the location are more than 5 star hotel. I will do a visit again and it will be more than two days. Big kiss to you.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Saltus and would 100% recommend. We are already planning our next visit! |We came across the hotel via a Google ad (I presume my phone had worked out I liked trees, mountains and spas) and it was perfect for us. |From the start our expectations were exceeded when we emailed reception to ask about getting a transfer from Bolzano airport and Lena proactively offered to arrange for some supper to be delivered to our room, as the restaurant would be closing around the time we arrived in the evening. We really appreciated this and it meant our holiday got off to a great start. |We stayed in a standard room which was like a spacious, heavenly tree house. None of the normal clutter that you find in most hotel rooms (mirrors everywhere, furniture you don't use etc.). Just a relaxing, muted design and a spectacular view of the treetops, hills and mountains. The room was also practical with plenty of storage, a well thought-out bathroom/shower area etc. |We hadn't told anyone it was my birthday but they must have figured it out from our check-in information and a card and chocolate had been hung on our door. |The restaurant was a highlight. The a la carte service at breakfast and dinner was very efficient, fast and friendly and the food was delicious. We would recommend the half board option - we booked bed and breakfast only in advance as we wanted to keep our options open but ended up dining in the restaurant every night because it was so lovely. (I'm not sure if there are other options in the village as we didn't look into this). It would probably have been a bit more cost-efficient to have had the half board but regardless we felt the food was great value. |The staff were all very kind and eager to help whilst also giving us space to relax. |Another highlight was the forest bathing led by Hedwig, one of the owners. The experience was so thoughtfully put together: basically a series of guided meditations in the woods to evoke a sense of inner peace and connection to nature. Very understated. I can imagine it would be enjoyable and accessible to even those who are new to things like yoga and meditation. |The infinity pool was wonderful also.|We didn't have a car with us but were able to go on plenty of stunning hikes starting from right outside the hotel. Within minutes you can be up in the hills without a soul around you and only the sounds of cowbells. The nature is incredible and we were excited to see some stunning wildlife such as hummingbird hawk moth and red squirrel.|We were given a free transport pass by the hotel which we used to get the bus to Bolzano to explore the town and it also gave us free access to museums. We loved going to see Otzi, the ice mummy that is 5,000 years old and was found perfectly preserved nearby, great for archaeology geeks like us and also unexpectedly moving. |The only piece of constructive feedback would be related to the warmth of the communal areas in the hotel. I understand and respect the decision not to have AC due to environmental reasons. I feel the heat very easily although this is a matter of personal preference. Even in late September the restaurant and lobby areas were too hot for me and quite uncomfortable and would benefit from opening doors/windows to let the breeze in. For this reason we would probably not go back in the summer. This was not a problem in our room however as we could turn the heating off, open the balcony door and there was a screen to stop insects getting in. |Overall we were absolutely delighted with our stay and thank all the staff for taking such great care of us. |We will be back!

This hotel was an easy 10/10. We can’t wait to come back in the winter season! The restaurant was a must, they really knock it out of the park there. Locally sourced ingredients and a stellar local focus on their wine list. The entire staff on property are phenomenal, definitely made our stay feel like home away from home, even in another country. There was such a warmth about the staff here that really elevated our stay. The women at the check in were incredible and the manager from the restaurant really enhanced our experience. The hotel really gives you a zen vibe the entire time, everyone feels really at peace here. The views are spectacular and the infinity pool is really stunning. 10/10 if you’re looking to really quiet the anxiety brain of modern life and get back to a slower paced vacation. The best way to start off our week in Italy.

The new section of the hotel is truly stunning, and I must commend the architects for their exceptional design. The rooms in the new part are beautiful, and the view from the pool is breathtaking. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. However, the restaurant leaves much to be desired; the dinner was so disappointing that as I write this review, I’m reminded of the unpleasant experience. Thankfully, the breakfast was surprisingly good. It’s unfortunate that such a stylish and beautifully designed hotel (especially the new section) doesn't attract the desired clientele but rather draws a more mundane, unremarkable crowd, often with tattoos. We were particularly drawn to the refined, architectural elegance of the hotel, which was the main reason for our booking. Curiously, there are no photos of the restaurant available, likely because it detracts from the overall allure of the new section. In the end, we decided to leave a day earlier than planned and booked another hotel that matched the level of sophistication we expected. We didn't even need to request a refund for the early departure cause it was our decision to leave earlier than planned.
