Hotel Samyeli

In June we stayed two nights in the Samyeli hotel in low-key, all-Turkish beachresort Çandarli, 80 km north of Izmir. It was a perfect stay. The spacious and clean hotel room was provided with good box-spring beds, the bathroom was convenient although the shower was not separated by a curtain with wet floor and toilet as a result after showering. But what really made the difference was the stunning beach-side location and utmost friendly staff. Never a thing was too much for them to do. ||||The meals that the groundfloor restaurant provided, were also very good and certainly one of the best we got during our trip on the Aegean Coast. For the little 45 euro per night we paid, this hotel was absoiute good value. Go there if you want to stay a couple of days in a charming and quiet Turkish beach resort far away from the tumble of busy Izmir-town.

It may be because they were suffering from end-of-season apathy but this hotel gave us the worst service that we experienced in Turkey. The worst of this was the miniscule amount of bread they gave us when we ordered only a small amount for dinner at their restaurant and, worse still, the stale bread they served us for breakfast the next day (our only experience of this in Turkey). Once again, the amount was very small and when we asked for more, we were given the minimum amount possible. The room itself was fine (although not as good as others of the same price in other coastal locations) and having a balcony that overlooked the beach is certainly a nice attraction of this hotel.

Çandarlı was one of our destinations , among our long lasting aegean tour.We accidentally stopped by Hotel Samyeli , decided to stay as we were exhausted , and had a really good rest.||First of all , the way the Hotel looks from the outside , does not promise much , however the owners' welcoming attitude is a good point.A family, who used to live in Germany before for long years , runs the Hotel and there is no language problem which we have experienced a lot within the coast , in small family hotels.The room they accommodated us had a direct view of the sea . Also the restaurant was what satisfied us most.We had 2 dinners there , and there was a wide selection of fish , along with differently cooked , meats with sausaces.||We were served local wines , not the best we have tasted in Turkey , but quite delicious.||The first night , they were a little bit slow in serving , perhaps from the rush hour , but the second night when it was calmer , service was also good.

Great location, nice breakfast, clean, central, good restaurant. I am going to be back next year.

Very close to the beach, clean rooms and friendly stuff. Best for price/performance ratio!
