I had great service from everyone at the front desk. They helped organize our visit and even helped us with a late checkout. ||However- the disco behind the property was sooo loud on a Saturday night and the party didn’t stop until 4 am. Be sure to request a quiet room on the other side of the hotel when you book.

Lovely hotel set in an old monastery in the centre of Arequipa. We arrived early at 5am, and the staff were really accommodating, allowing us to store our luggage and use the communal facilities. They were able to arrange an early check-in for us at 8am, which was wonderful. ||A special mention of Jaime, who served two very tired travellers a lovely breakfast, and he even went out of his way to find me some soya milk so I could have a decent coffee!

Me and my husband stayed here for two nights for our honeymoon and they were so kind as to leave us a cake in the room waiting for us! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially Jaime, who explained to me all about the volcanoes. The rooms are big enough and the hotel is near the centre of Arequipa. Highly recommend!

This place was the old hotel for families to use when they visited their daughters at the monastery. It’s old but very nicely redone. Has a beautiful open air lounge and restaurant. The breakfast included I’m with the stay is incredible. A lot of choices, fresh fruit, hot options. The man at the breakfast service was very nice and welcoming and gave me a hug goodbye! He was also playing beautiful local style music at breakfast which made my day. The reception staff was also very helpful with storing my luggage and giving recommendations about local things for tourists to do.

A lovely place to be in Arequipa. Nicely located, near Plaza de Armas and surrounded by very good restaurants. The hotel crew, Christian, River and Paola were very helpful, polite and informative. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. Very nice mattress! Breakfast had several options. We would definitely come back.

The location is fantastic and the rooms are alright, but too many things went wrong during my brief stay for me to recommend this hotel. I checked in at 3pm, three hours after check-in began. The person at the front desk was polite and quickly processed me and handed me a key, but when I got up to the room, the door was wide open, the bed sheets were still ruffled from the previous tenant, and there was garbage on the floor. The maid’s cart was out front so I decided to give it 15 minutes for it to be cleaned…..45 minutes later, absolutely no movement. I didn’t even see the cleaning lady around, just the cart. I asked the person at the front desk for a new room and it took 20 minutes for her to find me something that was actually clean. During this time, I heard two different people come to the front desk to say that their room smelled strongly of chemicals/paint and that it was making their head hurt. When I got to my second room, the only window to the outside was actually a door to a balcony that was shared with another room, meaning that if I wanted fresh air while I slept, some random people may wander in. The next morning, I had the maid wander into my room without knocking at 9am - three hours before check-out.

After an exhilarating but exhausting two week journey to many major historic sights in Peru, the Hotel San Agustin Posada del Monasterio provided a restful and beautiful refuge in central Arequipa for my friend and I to wind down and relax. The rooms are quite large, the beds are comfortable and shower is good. There are several lovely common areas both inside and outside where guests can to meet up or read a book. The breakfast is decent and the front desk staff are very attentive and helpful. Special thanks to Alejandra and River for their help providing recommendations, prompt key and entry service and even a spare phone charger! This hotel has a small rooftop balcony where guests can watch the sunset over the city and the surrounding volcanos. Centrally located across the (pedestrian-only) street from the Santa Catalina Monastery, there a many restaurants and stores within easy walking distance. Also a short walk to Cathedral and central market.

I was surprised the room didn’t have AC and they did everything to accommodate us. Larry and the front desk were so nice and accommodating. One of the nicest people I have met in all my travels.
