The only good thing I can say is great location. I would not recommend this place at all. As for my experience at this hotel. The wifi did not work on the 3rd floor in the first room I was booked into then I was changed to a room on the 2nd floor with a better signal but still their wifi is sooo slow... there were so many problems with the room itself. The TV was broken and there was only one outlet in the entire room. At 6 am they started playing loud music and some construction workers kept trying to sing along or whistle a false tune. I had an important phone call and the music was so loud I had to end the call. I complained at the front desk but nothing was done about it.

Pros: it's cheap ($280 for a double room)||Cons: everything else!||The one thing that really grinds my gears is when hotels/hostels advertise things that they either don't have or doesn't work! In this case it was the wifi. It didn't work the whole time we were there and staff did nothing about it even after a period of 24 hours it still wasn't working. A real annoyance if you're trying to research the area and plan things to do (or check trip advisor :)) ||Breakfast was included which is normally a good thing. But not in this case. It consisted of ONE piece of cold dry toast which snapped in half when I tried to butter it and one cup of instant coffee (no self service). I would of rather not had anything. We ended up ordering some eggs for an extra $30 pesos each which were ok, but it defeats the purpose of including a free breakfast. I suspect they give you a terrible 'breakfast' to force you to buy something else. ||The room was average and smelt bad. Toilet was cramped and smelt worse... Now, I know what your thinking "that's what you get for $280". BUT there are lots of better places in the area for just as cheap or 20-30 pesos more. We left this hotel and went 50 meters up the road to San Miguel hotel which is wayyy better and cleaner for $290 pesos (double bed for two people)

Housekeeping was wonderful! Front desk was amazing and accommodating and easy check in. Wonderful for its price ($500 pesos per night). Puebla was amazing, would totally recommend to anybody! Visit the estrella de puebla! Safari was like any other zoo would not recommend. Internet was slow.

Unlike the other reviews of being dirty and so on my partner and I found it to be quite clean. They change the bed sheets everyday and at least are room on the third floor and had no weird smell. The only thing hot water may run short that's the only thing that comes to mind. It's cheaper than the hostels around to be exact $150 pesos cheaper. For the the price of the hotel $300 you can't expect a fancy breakfast but there's a restaurant inside the hotel. We stayed three nights.

Very old fashion centrally located, 3 blocks from the great cathedral and zocalo of Puebla, very good value, no frills. You get a very basic breakfast next door. Friendly staff. Internet connection kind of unstable. Comfortable bed and hot showers.

While in good location, this is a very basic accommodation. Small room and dark. Paper thin walls. But we are on budget ($M230/rm w bath) so you get what you pay for. ||||Good thing is Wifi and Drinking water supplied (on corridoor).||||Opaque glass on door letting corridoor's light through at night making it a little hard to sleep.||||Breakfast doesn't get more basic than this: 2 bits of pretoasted breads and strawberry jam with coffee and orange juice. You could order other things but you'll have to pay.

So glad we found this hotel, yea it's not the fanciest but hey we are in Mexico and wanted to get a good deal, we actually booked at another hotel recommended from this site which was supposed to be a five star whatever but it put us in a room which reaked of mold and without any windows that opened. ||We stayed for the night but was at a great distance from the zocalo, very quiet and clean. Our stay at the san agustin was marred by 2 separate groups, both way too loud. Group 1 was a slew of school kids who violated the 9 pm noise curfew posted for all guests to see. Management was not at all concerned. Group 2 moved in as the kiddies went home. This group had the function hall rented. The function hall is in a central courtyard, surrounded by the rooms. It is partially roofed in like a gazebo, somewhat containing the noise. I do not think an ounce of thought for peace and quiet was ever considered when this event area was established. Also this group stayed at the hotel, and they left the next day with communal shouts across the hallways at a very early hour. There seemed to be a whole lot of coordination that needed taken care of before they could all leave in unison on the bus together. Management did not seem concerned that other guests not part of this exodus may still be sleeping at 6«30 in the morning, and had no problem with conversations being carried on across the whole length of the establishment. Because of these groups we thought that would explain the lack of hot water, but in 3 days we never had a decent shower, although 24 hour hot water was advertised in the lobby. There were quiet times when the groups were gone, but the hot water never showed up. The breakfast was a nice touch, but the quality of it made us ask why the hotel would bother. In Mexico you can buy pre toasted bread that is very crisp and dry. We were given 2 slices each, and coffee. Sometimes we were given orange flavored drink with it. The pre toasted bread was the only solid thing to eat, and 2 slices of it with butter and jam lead me to believe the extra cost added for the grub really goes to cover the wages of the uniformed staff that opened the package of bread and served it in a fancy bowl. The whole thing was quite funny, like it was a joke or something. If management reads this, please discontinue promising guests this idea you have of breakfast.   The room was clean, and staff was friendly. The cable package was poor, as was the internet signal. In the past 9 months we have had some stellar places for over 100 pesos less than the 260 pesos we paid for our matrimonial bed. It is a good deal to get a simple room in a 3 star joint for that price, but one would expect hot water, management to insist on mature guests, and breakfast that consists of something other than instant toast. That sounds more like a 1 or 2 star place.
