Best location in the heart of Santo Domingo, you are close to all the tourists sites. Especially the Colonial Zone. As for the service it is the best. All the employees from administration to room service were available to help you with all your needs.

My sister and I stayed overnight here on our way out of DR after an visit to family. My first impression of this place was a quaint hotel stuck in years gone by, but in a very positive way. The service was by far the best part of the hotel. The manager was very helpful, even as he was training a new desk attendant. We got there early and went to do other stuff until time to check in. When we got back, they had our room ready. We had made a mistake in our reservation, asking for 1 bed instead of 2. They made an adjustment quickly and with no complaint. The room was fine and we were very pleased that the air conditioning was up to the task of a hot and humid day. It would have been nice had the bathroom been airconditioned, as well, but the window didn't shut completely so we left the door shut. We slept well. We had asked for sandwiches for the next morning, as we had to leave for the airport well before the serving time of their breakfast. The morning manager not only made us sandwiches to take with us, but also made us breakfast completely unexpectedly. We would go back to this place most assuredly.

Absolute recommendation! Amazing, beautiful rooms in Italian style and nice backyard with pool and for breakfast. Very friendly staff!!! Very clean hotel. The area is a little away from Colonial zone, but is very good area, you have everything nearby: supermarket, KFC, pharmacia, metro station (!). Thanks a lot, I hope I can come back.

Hotel San Marco surprised me a lot. I booked only 1 night to stay over as I had to do diligences in the capital. When I went into I could see the magnificence of the property, very well cared and maintenance, the gorgeous pool area and garden... wow... it was like to be in a Spa. The room is simple but very clean and everything worked properly. The breakfast is included and it is high level quality. ||The only suggestion I have is they should improve the room service. At night I ordered a sandwich at 7:30pm, requested again at 8:00pm and it was 8:30 pm did not arrived, I had to go out to get some food... which was very uncomfortable as I was alone and had to walk 2 blocks to The Domino restaurant. I would be more easy and safe for me to get a sandwich in my room... Other thing is do not put amenities... only soap.. but not shampoo or body cream...||The rest was perfect perfect perfect... The colonial style and deco is beautiful.|| I recommend this hotel 100% .

I agree with most of the reviews here. It's a lovely converted mansion with a quiet inner patio and small swimming pool. Very conveniently located. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful with a personal touch. Not 5-star luxurious but very good value for money. ||||For us, the downside was the breakfast, which would benefit from better quality bread and fresher pastries... ||||We will definitely visit again but we'll skip the hotel breakfast and head straight for Adrian Tropical!

The staff was friendly. We stayed two nights and they cleaned the room and gave us fresh stuff each day. Pool. Open patio. Pots of rooms. Beautiful hotel. Free breakfast. All you can ask for. Also when we would go out we'd give the key to them to hold. Loved it. Oh and my shower head was the kind you can take off and hold!

I enjoyed my stay here, for 9 days. It's a well run and quite comfortable hotel - I gave 3 stars rating only in comparison to the 'fancier' ones that might get 4, but my room was spacious, comfortable, and secure. They have a nice breakfast and a lovely lady who will make omelettes, pancakes etc; nice well kept but small pool for dipping in rather than swimming; friendly and helpful reception staff. It's not a standard chain hotel but a local one, and if you can manage to deal with not recognizing the "name brand" then this is a good option. It is not in the Old/Colonial Town, but in the normal downtown, 3 blocks from the waterfront.

This is a mid-range hotel located in Santo Domingo. It is in walking distance to two train stations, UASD, McDonalds, Wendy's, A supermarket, and A great Restaurant called Adrian Tropical. The rooms are comfortable, not a lot of fluff, a bed, TV with cable and major US networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN). There is a typical caribbean breakfast of fresh fruit, meat, cheese, omelets, breads, juice coffee and tea. The staff is very hospitable, courteous and great customer service. What makes the hotel less than excellent is that there is very sketchy internet access. It is free internet access, but not always reliable. Also the mattresses are hard. Still I have stayed here 3 times, so I would definitely recommend it.
