What a gem of a place this is! We absolutely loved our week at Hotel San Telmo! Very grateful for the Guardian review from several years ago that led us here. The building is gorgeous, the feel of the spaces luxurious and comfortable, the staff fantastic, and the location outstanding. We did fabulous outings all over the island just by taking the buses in all directions from very nearby the hotel (taking the sky elevator down), but from the rooftop terrace with fantastic views you feel miles from everywhere. Couldn't recommend the hotel more highly.

Just got back from spending a week at the hotel with my son, we used it as a base to explore the island. The hotel is excellent, the staff lovely. The rooms are a good size and very clean. The breakfast was great as was the free fruit and water cooler to fill bottles prior to our trips. The honesty bar and outside terraces were ideal for relaxing in the evenings. The hotel is about a 10 min walk down into town for a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and pick up points for various island tours. We'll definitely be back.

We had a very comfortable 4 night stay in this small hotel. There are only 10 rooms. We had the room next to the reception which was large and had a balcony that overlooked the courtyard and terrace with views of the sea. The owners of the hotel, were very kind in allowing us to check in early and were able to recommend places to eat etc. We decided to have Continental breakfast each morning which was delicious and good value. You need to be fit to stay anywhere in the town as it is built on a hillside with steep cobbled streets and steps that go on forever! I would avoid the time of year when there is a festival called "Los Indianos" celebrating and remembering the islands ancestors who left the island to go to Venezuela and Colombia to earn money before returning back to La Palma. It is very noisy and white talcum powder is thrown about making everything very slippery. We arrived a few days after it and although the streets had been washed it was slippery underfoot.

What a nice hotel this is! A delicious breakfast prepared with care. The tastiest coffee, beautiful flowers and plants, 2 friendly cats and birds in the courtyard. A very comfortable place where we felt completely at home!

this hotel is a really find. situated a short walk up the straits from the coastal road, it had everything we were looking for: spacious and clean room, with a very comfortable bed and decorated with taste, a small terrace catching the morning sun and a wonderful lounge and garden area, perfect for relaxing. the staff was very friendly and water, coffee, tea and fresh fruit were available at all times free of charge - a small gesture that makes all the difference. it made our stay even more enjoyable as we loved la palma and santa cruz. highly recommended.

Lovely hotel to stay in, we had spectacular views on the ocean from our room! They've also created a relaxing terrace that everyone can enjoy. The hosts are very kind and approachable (and the cats too 😉). Fruit, tea, coffee and water is available free of charge and for a small price you can grab some drinks from the fridge in the common area. The room was good and cosy. Perhaps a fridge in the room would be nice. We would recommend renting a car in La Palma to fully experience the island. Yes, parking can be a bit of a problem but if you time it right, you tend to get a space on your first try. Otherwise the parking at McDonalds is always an option and then walk your way up. Either way: highly recommend this hotel!!

Very friendly owner and staff. The hotel is a pearl right in the city center. Staff is really helpful. Breakfast is cute and delicious. The house has a lot of charm, especially with the lit candles in the evening. There is a nice inner yard, including a bird cage and a fluffy tabby. On top of the lower building there is a nice balcony inviting to read and relax. The hotel leaves nothing to wish for. Even though it is within the city and there is no parking assigned to the hotel, it can be found somwhere within a few blocks. Rooms are spacious and proper, with a ceiling fan, A/C, a small fridge and its own wifi.
