The access to the Hotel is via a 3km dirt road and the signs of the hotel are not well maintained. When you drive up it looks fantastic and the restaurant and outside pool area are beautiful with a stunning view. The rooms however are very anticlimactic. Cheap IKEA furniture, damaged walls, old smashed flies sticking to the walls, a TV that is hanging on by a thread. The rooms are very basic and far from what you would expect when you book a 5star hotel. Like others mentioned in the comments, we do not understand how this hotel even received a 5 star rating. We also went to the spa. You book it and you are there alone so I don’t want to know how many couples bathe in there alone a day… we also switched off the bubbles for a bit and were shocked at how filthy the water was. There is literally a film of grime swimming at the top. We immediately got out. We also had an incident with a very rude staff member and when we mentioned it to the front desk there was no apology offered but we were basically told to excuse that staff member because she was dumb and short. What a way to talk about a colleague. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we would definitely come back to enjoy a lunch and the views. I don’t understand how this place has such high ratings though, I think it’s definitely overpriced for what it really offers. I would avoid sleeping there and definitely the inside pool!

Stayed here with my Wife after a two week drive across Europe. Very nice secluded place nestled in a woodland setting. Bedrooms need some updating as they aren't cosy. Word of caution: The access road to the hotel looks like the aftermath of an earthquake so be careful whilst driving as it is completely unpaved. Drive slowly and be prepared to be rocked from side to side.

Stunning location, beautiful building. However, rooms are lacking, soulless and poorly maintained. Terrace of the junior suite was very disappointing, not at all similar to the hotel photos, just a pair of cheap metal chairs and the outdoor jacuzzi was bolted closed. Hotel staff were mostly unreachable during booking, and did not deliver the duo massage I booked. No discount or any compensation was offered. Some of the restaurant staff were obviously very poorly trained and totally unsupervised, talking very loudly about their personal lives across the room, while serving guests who were paying a premium for a relaxing escapade. Restaurant food was quite good. Was overall very disappointing, the only true 5 star element is the price...

I had booked a stay here for our anniversary, through booking. The morning of our reservation, while we were about to leave home, we received an email through booking that the hotel had "modified" the dates of our stay, because they had overbooked the rooms. The hotel tried to pass it off as something we had requested, without any thought to call us to explain the situation. When I called the hotel to find out why they had modified / cancelled our reservation, they barely even seemed to recognise the inconvenience and gave a half-hearted apology when pressed, but nothing further. They just didn't even seem to care about ruining our holiday. Avoid

Once you get pass the road (forestry preserve dirt road), you will be AMAZED at the gorgeous surroundings. I can only say that our stay was SPECTACULAR! From the wonderful staff, spotless accommodations, quiet serenity, and great cuisine, you cannot choose a more wonderful experience. Although a bit out of town (5 mins), it is easy to get a taxi to town for the hubbub of the downtown. We traveled Spain, Andorra, and southern France and this was our most memorable stay.

Excellent hotel that formerly was a convent. The staff was very welcoming and attended to all our needs. We had breakfast and dinner, the food was spectacular and sourced from local farmers. Presentation and selection were top notch. The bed was very comfortable and you could tell they really clean your room during your stay. The view to the surrounding city and ocean was amazing. We used the spa and had a massage, which was very relaxing. A very unique type of stay.

The hotel itself its very nice . But... |Staff are overworked so they can't look after you unfortunately ...|Regardless of the language you speak some very important information is not given to you. |In our room- terrace with jacuzzi- the jacuzzi will was missing, was covered a long time ago with wood. The toilet is 1 m away from your head- in the bed. |The pool area can get very dirty as nobody picks up the bottles/ towels left behind by guests. |The breakfast is quite limited and felt very unwelcomed. |In the spa area you need to pre book even the use of hottub and sauna and pay extra. I understand treatments! No wonder was empty. |A lot of hit and miss...that can be easily sorted! |I would not go back.
