12 Best Things to Do in Santa Fe

"This sturdy Pueblo Revival-style property offers an unbeatable location just steps from the buzzy Railyard District, known for its robust art scene, breweries, coffee, farmers market and Southwestern-flared eateries. It’s also a short ten minute walk to Santa Fe’s famed Plaza and Canyon Road areas. Spring for the Hacienda side of the hotel where all-suite rooms come with gaslit fireplaces, hand-carved beds and balconies. Designed with earth tones and Southwestern neutrals, the walls highlight contemporary Native American artworks by Apache, Navajo and Hopi tribes. Noteworthy are a hand-burnished black on black Avanyu (serpent) pot by the Santa Clara potter Glenda Naranjo, a Hopi Maiden Kachina and a handsome Navajo Yei Rug from the Shiprock Area (circa 1950)." - Kate Donnelly

Hotel Santa Fe, Hacienda & Spa

"Why book This sturdy Pueblo Revival-style property offers an unbeatable location just steps from the buzzy Railyard District, known for its robust art scene, breweries, coffee, farmers market and Southwestern-flared eateries. Noteworthy are a hand-burnished black on black Avanyu (serpent) pot by the Santa Clara potter Glenda Naranjo, a Hopi Maiden Kachina and a handsome Navajo Yei Rug from the Shiprock Area (circa 1950). Set the scene You have two choices upon check- in: a 3-floor main building hosting 126-rooms dressed in simple, traditional Southwestern style; and the Hacienda building with 35 suites and a butler service. There are informal lobby talks on Native American culture. There’s also live music—on a recent visit, guests were wooed by Lakota Peter White Feather Redheart’s flute. Speaking of guests, you’ll find a sampling of all walks, ages and demographics inside. For optimal space, the Hacienda side is ideal; while the main structure hosts families and budget-minded travelers. The hotel remains a great option for those without a car (who enjoy walkable access to nearby attractions). Backstory Back in 1991, Hotel Santa Fe opened with a small investor group; one of whom owned a 49 percent stake in ownership, and the other, the Picuris Pueblo, a small Native American tribe hailing about 60 miles north of Santa Fe, who maintained a 51 percent ownership. Just last year, the Picuris tribe purchased the property in its entirety, becoming the first and only wholly Native American hotel in town. Certainly you’ll feel the influence: museum-worthy Native art hanging in the lobby and walls of the Hacienda building. Rooms In the main building, rooms are outfitted with sturdy handmade pine furniture and Pueblo paintings. The Hacienda suites are dressed with one-of-a-kind art, leather chairs, a large dining table, solid wood beds and a balcony (some with partial views of the San Jemez Mountains). Granite bathrooms house soaking tubs and walk-in showers. Don’t be shy about using the on-call butler service, who is keen on being put to work—from unpacking to telling you what’s new in town. They’re also known to drop off a basket of fresh chocolate chip cookies at your door (perfect for nibbling by the fireplace). Food and drink : Off the lobby, the restaurant Amaya is a laid-back spot for breakfast and lunch. On the Hacienda side, a complimentary continental breakfast spread includes baked goods, oatmeal and yogurt—and can be enjoyed with rooftop views and local organic coffee by Aroma. The Hacienda also hosts a 5-7pm happy hour with snacks, local wine and beer. Downstairs, a small wooden lobby bar also hosts its own happy hour, and is known for its jalapeno margarita and zesty, non-boozy prickly pear lemonade. The spa A full-service, 6-room spa offers a robust treatment menu; many of which are inspired by Native American healing elements: warm stone massages and white-sage facials. A new detoxifying “Healing Earth” massage includes a lavender foot bath, body brushing and ancient volcanic sandalwood-and-lavender scented clay mask. Parched skin? A hydrating high-desert mask infused with an earthy mix of juniper, pinion and cedar oils, helps nourish dry limbs. The neighborhood Over the last five years or so, the hip Railyard District has upped its offerings. For now, Hotel Santa Fe remains the most convenient lodging in the neighborhood, offering easy walks to several classics and newcomers. Drop in the veteran eatery La Choza for blue-corn enchiladas and Silver Coin margaritas, take in the contemporary art at the edgy SITE SANTA FE and walk over to the New Mexico Museum of Art’s glistening new Vladem Contemporary. Pick me up? Nab your flat whites at Sky Coffee or pop by Crash Murder for espresso and Posa breakfast burritos (they sell out early). On Saturdays, the hyper-local Santa Fe Farmers Market hawks artisanal soaps, lavender, chilis and peppers (local Chimayo, Socorro, Velarde) as far as the eye can see. Nearby, chef Nathan Mayes Paloma doles out Mexican tacos, steak fajitas and mezcal drinks. Catch a throwback movie at the Jean Coctuea Cinema (est 1976), a resurrected theater from Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin (fans can also pop by his Beastly Bookstore located next to the cinema). What else? The concierge can arrange for a Native American Day, a unique experience including a breakfast spread from Atmaya, a guided tour of the aforementioned Picuris Pueblo, lunch at Tesuque Village Market (fish tacos and wood-fired pies are musts), and afterwards, a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts and The Palace of the Governors portal. Service: The front desk is low-key and efficient while the amicable Hacienda butlers are eager to assist. Additionally, a complimentary shuttle drives within a one-mile radius of the hotel—zipping you to Santa Fe’s downtown Plaza and out to Museum Hill, where the Museum of International Folk Art houses an unmissable 100,000 plus items collection from the artist Alexander Girard. Family: Surrounded by leafy gardens, an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub also includes a spacious patio with lounge furniture. Situated just outside of the Amaya Restaurant patio, families can opt for Teepee dining; on an in-room package including a small teepee for kids to play and sleep in should they choose (s’mores included). Eco effort The eco-friendly hotel has a recycling program as well as water saving efforts in the room. Accessibility The hotel meets the ADA standards and requirements for both public and room spaces. Anything left to mention? A sizable, updated fitness room make use of the usual suspects: treadmills, exercise bikes, free weights and elliptical trainers. You’ll also find Sunrise yoga classes on weekends." - Kate Donnelly

"Visitors to Santa Fe come in search of art and culture, and it’s hard to trump the cultural experience at the Hotel Santa Fe, the Hacienda and Spa. In addition to being a high-end hotel in the hip, recently revitalized Railyard District, this pueblo-style compound is the first of its kind, the only luxury stay to be owned and run primarily by a local Native American tribe—the Picaris Pueblo. No top-tier amenity has been left out—the spa is one of the best in town, the restaurant and lounge is one of Santa Fe’s most acclaimed, the gym offers yoga classes, there’s a free shuttle into town—and the guest experience is unlike that anywhere else, thanks to the extensive private Native American art collection that adorns the walls, the handmade local furniture that fills the rooms, and the responsible presence of traditional Native American culture throughout. The hotel’s gift shop is Santa Fe’s only tribally owned store, selling traditional local handicrafts and art, and events are held throughout the year for guests to learn about Picaris Pueblo culture. And, as if this all weren’t impressive enough, the hotel has a rigorous environmental policy, and its rooms are completely powered by solar energy."

My daughter and I absolutely LOVED this hotel!!! The service was impeccable, the staff delightful and so welcoming, and the room was just lovely! I would definitely return! I was disappointed that we only had one night! We also took advantage of the spa and both had massages - quite possibly the best massages we have ever had. (Thank you Oliver and Rosa!) We stayed in the Hacienda location, and a special shout out to our butler Anthony who made it so special! It’s also a great location- super close to downtown and the gallery area with easy complimentary shuttle service . Can’t wait to go back!

The location was great. We were upgraded to a room in the Hacienda in the back. Which offered more privacy. But there were some issues with the shower. It definitely needs some touching up. Customer service was fantastic. We were actually met at the door, helped all the way to our room with our bags. Less unheard of these days. I would go back just for the customer support.

From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive yet unobtrusive—everything felt so easy and welcoming. The staff was warm, helpful, and genuinely committed to making sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The complimentary shuttle was a fantastic bonus, making it effortless to explore Santa Fe without the stress of parking or directions. The rooms in the Hacienda section were beautiful—spacious, well-appointed, and incredibly peaceful. The attention to detail in both decor and amenities really enhanced the feeling of luxury without any pretentiousness. We also loved the evening wine and cheese reception, a perfect way to unwind and enjoy the quiet elegance of the surroundings. For the level of service, comfort, and extras included, this hotel is an amazing value for the money. You get a high-end experience at a price that feels more than fair, especially when you consider the personal touches, the art and architecture, and the calm, tucked-away atmosphere just minutes from the heart of town.

We loved this hotel!!! The atmosphere was authentic with relaxed elegance. The restaurant had delicious food and beautiful ambiance. The spa was professional, clean and totally relaxing. The pool was lovely and well maintained. All the staff were helpful and responsive especially Jeremy at the pool. The location was close enough walk to the plaza but the hotel also provides complimentary shuttle service. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we return to Santa Fe. Thank you Hotel Santa Fe!! ❤️

MY husband and I visit Santa Fe every year for two weeks. We just discovered the Hotel Santa Fe this year and cannot believe we did not know about it before. Although we were staying in an Airbnb, we went to the Happy Hour 6 times during our time in Santa Fe. The ambiance is so welcoming and warm, the service is first rate and the drinks and food fantastic. Everyone who works there is kind, helpful and provides the best service. We recommend it with the highest regard. Our friends did stay there in May and raved about their experience. Well done! Wishing you continued success!

Google
Beautiful hotel. Steps from the train station quiet, nice comfy bed. Shower was too hot and needed almost to by turned off to get to a cooler temp. Separate rooms from the living was nice. We were too dumb for the smart lamp. The restaurant offers traditional New Mexican dishes as well| Regular fare.

I only give 5s for the best of the best, this isn't that. We enjoyed our stay, don't get me wrong.AND, I would recommend this place to others. Wife booked and paid, I have no idea what it cost - I mention that so you won't think I'm grumpy over the bill. The room is a little small, and the bathroom is adequate but not great. There is a little seating area in the other part of the room, with the TV, that was comfortable. The room didn't really grab my attention though, it was adequate but not memorable so I hope the price was "reasonable" and also not memorable. I have one complaint, which isn't the hotel's fault at all, but the road noise was awful. SF streets seem rife with these guys with the car muffler amplifiers, "glass packs", and they roared up and down the road next to the hotel all night. Super annoying (they should make those muffler amplifiers illegal).

Yelp
Good hotel, convenient to downtown staff was nice. They have complimentary shuttle service with 1 mile Late night room service was quick and delicious.

Yelp
Honestly I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it. Some of the staff was amazing. Very kind and welcoming. I appreciate the breakfast and breakfast staff in the morning. The women coming by to clean or refresh my room were also wonderful. I ate dinner at their restaurant one night and the team working were also fabulous. My room: within seconds of being in my room: a piece of the fireplace broke off in its own? Then I went to open the blinds in my room because it was dark in there, even though I arrived mid day with the sun out and my blinds were broken and wouldn't open? So I called the front desk and asked for a new room. They didn't have any available they said. Instead, they sent a handyman out, who was kind but couldn't fix the blinds and then put the jankitty piece to cover the fire place back on almost like a Lego and left. The piece fell off again on its own and I just left it. I didn't use the fire place because it didn't feel safe. And honestly, online that was an attractive quality so in real time translated to useless. I ordered room service once and the food was good. The guy delivering was kind. Location was close to Whole Foods and plenty of coffee houses and restaurants for lunch or dinner. Walking distance to downtown. When I checked out and got the bill I was over charged. An extra meal I never had. Plus other charges that weren't accurate. I had so many back and forth calls on the phone when I was at the airport waiting for my flight to fix it. Initially the staff - management was resistant : which was so annoying and frustrating. Then they would fix one (take off the charge) and send an update invoice and I had to call back for them to fix - take off the other one. I would stay elsewhere. Thank you for the some of the kind and warm staff you have.

Yelp
This hotel has a bed bug infestation. Out of our group of 40 eight got bites and pest control found a bug in at least one of their rooms. The rooms were on different floors and wings which indicated a widespread problem The staff was pretty dismissive claiming that elm bugs were the problem. Management did not work with the nonprofit that my husband was working with and even claimed the bedbug bites were being caused by the "power of suggestion" even though multiple people were bit before the group made an announcement and consulted hotel staff. Gorgeous buildings and very nice rooms but not worth the risk of bringing back bedbugs.

Yelp
Overall, the hotel was fine. The rooms were small and the bed was pretty uncomfortable, but nothing too unusual for a hotel. Things were clean and quiet and if you're just looking for a bed to sleep in, it's fine. The staff was pleasant and the hotel had a nice ambience (native american art and calm music in the lobby) and based on just my stay I might have given it a higher score. There were a few things I didn't like though. The first is that they (I think, see below about the refusal to provide an invoice) had a mandatory "resort fee" beyond the room rate that covered the normal things you'd expect (internet, electricity, cramped gym with some worn equipment and all the other fancy extras the hotel had . . .). I think this is an unsavory practice and I have a hard time trusting any business that utilizes it. Furthermore, when I checked out, they told me they were charging my card for incidentals (we had some drinks/food at the bar), but were unable to provide an invoice of what they were for since their system was down. They said they would send me one later (they never did) and when I followed up they never got back to me. The amount they were charging me seemed like a lot, but was probably fine, I just find it a bit off-putting if you simultaneously have mandatory charges and refuse to provide a receipt so I can see what it is you actually charged me for. In any event, when booking here, I would assume what you actually pay will be higher than whatever they advertise as their rate.

Yelp
This is my favorite hotel to stay at when I visit Santa Fe. I don't stay anywhere else. I love how the rooms are very spacious and so clean. I personally love the 1bedroom suite with a balcony. The on-site restaurants are tasty. There's also room service And the spa that's on site is amazinggggg. I always get a deep tissue massage with Rosa' every time I visit. the spa has a magical huge full on crystal wall too. 5 stars across the board at this hotel.

Yelp
Being part Native American I choose to stay here. From the moments I walked in I was treated with disdain. The service people don't seem to want to provide service-they wish you would just go away. The usb charging ports did not work... when I asked for them to be replaced the service desk was incredibly rude they actually "huffed." I also offered that my towels did not need to be charged nor my bed made for my 5 night stay. He ttreied me like I was an idiot: "Well just put the do not disturb on the door (huff)."

Yelp
Simply the best for my husband and myself. Warm atmosphere and owned by Native Americans. We stay in the Hacienda. Butler service and a suite for happy hour drinks and appetizers. Walkable to the Railyard for the most incredible Farmers Market and easy walk to the Plaza. Amaya the restaurant never disappoints and the lounge is a perfect place to sit and have a drink. Native American entertainment is lovely.

Yelp
See my separate review on their restaurant. It was an adequate overpriced hotel that needs modernization. The good: Nice staff however the morning youngsters are clueless and didnt ask how our 350 per night stay was. They have 1 shuttle that was nice and convenient. The fireplace when operational in the lobby was warm and cool. Unfortunately they let it die before 10pm. Saturday night they had a great performance by Lakota the chief. He played many instruments and had accompanied music on via stereo system. They have a small outside whirlpool and heated pool. We wanted to use the whirlpool but it was taken over by a group of guys. The room was an adequate suite with a balcony that fit 2 small chairs. A super plus they gave us champagne when we checked in for our anniversary. My wife put it on the reservation. We liked that the hotel was native American owned and themed. The bad: Dirty floors in the bathroom. You actually tracked mud on the carpet. The appliances are ancient and no coffee maker. There was coffee and tea in the lobby by each elevator; only 2 floors and by the lobby bar. Our microwave was a Tappan manual one that was probably 25 years old. The refrigerator was very small. The AC didn't work consistently. They charge 15 dollars for resort fee. I inquired about it. The said it covered wireless, shuttle, pool and whirlpool. The hat a fitness center in the othe building. Those rooms had fireplaces and butler service for a lot more. Upgrading to a suite was all we needed. The regular rooms were very small. The Spa was a joke in the other building. It consisted of an empty lobby and 2 separate treatment rooms. A 50 minute massage was 150 to 200 dollars and a couples massage almost 400 dollars. Totally outagous! They had no giftshop and no where to buy a botlle of water or pop and no water fountains. We found by the conference rooma a water bottle filler. There also was no concierge. We went into other hotels and they sall had one. Overall my wife like the place. I thought it was fine but not for 430 bucks a night with taxes and fees. We had to pay 1 night in advance. It is located 1 mile from the cental downtown. It was not an easy walk crossing streets and changing elevation. The bad.

Yelp
This hotel is oozing with understated native elegance. My spirit responded to the art and architectural details. Our room was fully southwestern and comfortable. There are also large bronze sculptures throughout the Hotel. Service is excellent, ambiance is fabulous. This hotel is a great value.

Yelp
We stayed here for three nights during our visit to Santa Fe area and loved every bit of it ... Below are some of the things we liked about this place 1. The hotel is located a 5 minute drive from Canyon road and other restaurants which makes it fairly convenient to stay and plan things 2. Clean and well-maintained rooms with ample sunlight and heating. 3. Very friendly and courteous staff with great ambience 4. We ended up getting coffee every morning from the cafe downstairs but didn't have a chance to get food from there. 5. Wonderful amazing Adobe styled architecture
google avatar

Yelp
Stayed at the amazing Adobe styled Hotel Santa Fe Hacienda for a couple of nights. It's the only Native American owned hotel in Santa Fe. The decor with the variations of artwork is a joy to see. From sculptures outside to rugs, earthenware, jewelry and the like indoors. There are two distinct areas of the hotel, the regular rooms and the hacienda suites. We had a beautiful fireplace in our room with butler service. They have breakfast and happy hours available along with local artisans performances on selected nights. The staff are always kind, helpful and courteous. I loved it here.

Yelp
Very nice place. Clean rooms, very pet friendly and in the middle of lots of restaurants and galleries. I'll stay again sometime.

Yelp
1) Called to make a spa appointment that could accommodate my disability. They girl who answered the phone didn't know what to do, and after several minutes said she would have the manager call me. Nobody called. 2) I call back the next day, they had no idea about my inquiry and said they would call back and never did. 3) I called the front desk. The guy put me on hold to wait for a manager. She then simply transferred me to someone named Paul who I never got. It went to voice mail. 4) I immediately called AGAIN, and the same woman said he was waiting and didn't believe me when I said it went to voice mail. She actually argued with me saying it didn't go to voice mail. Why would I lie? I really wanted a spa appointment. All I wanted was a relaxing spa day, and after three days, I give up. What HORRENDOUS customer service and an absolute inability to accommodate a disability request.

Yelp
To start, I stayed in the Hacienda section of the hotel. I did a lot of research on hotels in the area (I've only been to Santa Fe once) and decided on the Hacienda and Spa at Hotel Santa Fe based on the pictures, luxe description and amenities. We haven't traveled a ton in the past couple of years and I was looking forward to a little pampering. The people who work in the hotel and haciendas are very nice and extremely friendly. 5 stars for that. I liked the nightly reception that included snacks and wine/beer. The views from the terrace are lovely as well. As for the room and amenities, I guess I was just expecting something more. There was no water supplied to the room and the minibar was just an empty semi-cold mini fridge. The description noted that we were supposed to have both of these amenities. Our room was extremely dark, almost impossible to apply makeup without being in the bathroom, which was also very dark. The air-conditioner had a hard time keeping up, even with the weather being somewhat cool outside. Because of COVID, housekeeping is only available upon request. Parking was good. There are a few food options within walking distance and the railway district is literally right across the street. The restaurant onsite is excellent (separate review). There also a large lobby and bar in the main portion of the hotel. It's about a 20 minute walk to town. The hotel has a shuttle service and the drivers are fantastic and when things are running smoothly, it's a great service. Unfortunately it's hard to keep up with the demand of a full hotel and there were a couple of situations where the front desk staff forgot to enter our pick up details and we were left waiting at night for 30 minutes plus. I probably wouldn't stay here again. There's nothing really wrong with it, it just wasn't what I was expecting. I love Santa Fe and will be back but will find something that aligns more with my expectations.

Yelp
The rooms were a little pricey, and the vibe was kind of older retirees. I felt we were one of the younger couples in the hotel. The outside is very impressive, but the room is sort of disappointing. It didn't seem any better than any other hotel room imo. In fact, the tile floor in the bathroom was 1990's or older pink tiles. It's like they spent money to redo the sink and shower but hope you don't look down. And the room wasn't all that big, standard size. The carpet in the hallways were also dated and dimly lit. Kind of like an old lodge feeling. I did use the gym which was in a separate building above the spa. We also used the hot tub at night and my husband jumped in the pool for a second but it was low 30° at night. The best part of the hotel is location, although some might wish it was in Old Town. It was a very short drive to Old Town and they did have free shuttles, but we didn't want to stand around in that cold air waiting for it later on.

Yelp
We were very disappointed with this hotel, especially for the price. The website makes it sound like a luxury resort. Far from what we found. No bellman to greet guests. You have to haul your own things. The decor is very dark. While we do not demand or expect new sheets & towels every night, we do expect housekeeping to at least make up the bed & supply new lotion & other bath amenities daily. I had ask at the desk for those items. The king bed room we had was very small. No room coffee and no room safe. We did not eat at the restaurant after looking at the menu. There are no grounds to walk around or relax it. It on a noisy main Street. We would not recommend this hotel. It is poor value for money. Update: as I mentioned above, there was NO housekeeping during our stay. However, on the day we were checking out, housekeeping knocked at our door TWICE BEFORE 8am, so they could do their room cleaning! Unbelievably rude!!!

Yelp
This hotel was simply amazing!!! Wonderful amenities, wonderful service, comfortable rooms, and delicious food. 10/10 recommend and will most definitely stay again!

Yelp
This review is about their Junior Suite. See my other review if you want to know about the Traditional Room and some other general stuff about the hotel. I called on the morning of my arrival and asked if it was possible to get an early check in, maybe an hour or so, and the person on the line told me no because they were completely booked. Not a problem, I figured I'd ask just in case. I booked a Junior Suite (Picuris) several months ago because it was the only option available for the weekend I was going to be in town. Like I mentioned in my previous review, I picked this hotel specifically for its location. At check in I said my room didn't need to be cleaned during my stay but the front desk staff insisted that it be cleaned at least once. I said it wasn't necessary because they would be cleaning the room the day before my departure and then on the day of but the staff member wouldn't budge on it so whatever. Compared to a Traditional room, the Junior Suite included a small sitting area with a fold out couch, a coffee table, a counter with a microwave from the 1980s, a small (and not very cold) mini fridge, a small safe, a couple of chairs, a balcony with two patio chairs, two TVs, and a large closet. The bathroom and shower were the same size as a Traditional Room but I noticed right away that some of the towels were missing and it had no bathmat. The bed mattress was really stiff and it made loud creaking noises every time I sat or laid down. There were four pillows but they were all stiff and not very comfortable. During each night I was woken up several times between 4am-8am by loud banging noises from the floor above and from down the hall. I don't know if it was just noisy guests or staff members. Also, there was a tray of dirty dishes from someone's room service outside their door down the hall from me and it sat there on the floor for over a day. The next day it was moved to the counter by the elevator, where it sat for half a day longer. I guess the hotel staff didn't want to bother taking it downstairs to the kitchen. The cleaning staff didn't get around to my room until about 2pm. When I got back, all they had done was tidy the bedsheets and replace the towels. None of the tables or counter surfaces were wiped down and the floor wasn't vacuumed. I'm assuming they only do that when the guest has checked out. I left some money on the table for the cleaning staff but they didn't take it. This happened the last time I was here. Either they didn't see it (which I highly doubt) or the hotel has a policy of not allowing staff to accept tips for room cleanings. It was a nice stay in a nice room. The cost? Way over priced. I ended up paying more than double their average rates because I was in town during a busy weekend. Don't quote me on these numbers but I looked up the weekend room rates at other times throughout the year (on the hotel's website, not a travel agency) and on average a Traditional Room is about $200 a night and a Junior Suite is about $250-300 a night, if you're booking at least three months in advance. Not including taxes and fees.

Yelp
If there wasn't Covid, this would be one of the best places on earth - or let's say in Santa Fe - to stay. In fact, we stayed there many years earlier (in 2003). Warm interior of this adobe style building, care to detail in every room. Unfortunately, the many opportunities to further shine (breakfast buffet, socializing lobby, etc.) fell somewhat victim to the pandemic - except maybe the included Amaya restaurant. The pool could be deeper. The front staff was forthcoming and charming - and when we notified them that we had forgotten a few items, they instantaneously fedexed them to the home address. Thank you!

Yelp
I really enjoyed our stay here! My only complaint was that the view from our room was a broken gate and a stop light, but apart from that I loved it. We stayed at the Hacienda section of the hotel which was so worth it. It is a separate building that you need a key to get into. There are a few perks staying there like free happy hour drinks and food and free coffee and pastries each morning. The room was the perfect size. Loved the bed!! And loved the fire pit. Did not like that the tv is on the side and doesn't come out (felt impossible to watch anything). The service was great. Everything was quick and everyone was kind. LOVED that they have the car that takes you anywhere in the area. Made the hotel 100% better. I would literally stay there just because of that. If I go back to Santa Fe I will 100% stay there again. Only con is that it's not quite close enough to the downtown area, although it is close enough that you can walk there, but the car service gets rid of that problem.

Yelp
No coffee pot, no bedside plugins for electronics, no gift store for munchies or machines...Ugg need my coffee, also no bathtub. Staff is great, restaurant nice.

Yelp
This was our first time staying at the Hotel Santa Fe and I would definitely stay here again. It is in an awesome location right by the Railyard district (shops, movie theater, restaurants and galleries). Near downtown and easy location to get anywhere in Santa Fe. We walked most places! We had a basic King room with a small balcony looking out on the pool. It was nice, although the bathroom was a little on the small size. We enjoyed the pool, had breakfast at their restaurant Amaya and drank coffee in the lobby in the mornings. It was a great stay. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Lovely spot. Nice room with a little balcony. Close to the art and farmers market. Also took advantage of their Spa. They have a shuttle service if you need to go a bit further. Patrick is awesome! Restaurant is really tasty so take advantage of it being in the building. Cocktails are on point and the fireplace is divine. Staff were polite and accommodating.

Yelp
Review is for their restaurant. Amazing is all I have I have to say. We ordered their blue corn pancakes and their huevos rancheros. Their bluecorn pancakes were naturally sweet- i did not need to add any buter or syrup. Their huevas rancheros were a full meal.

Yelp
This is a beautiful hotel. We booked a suite last week with plenty of availability and requested a bathtub, but they didn't hold that for us. So disappointed! To have such nice rooms without a tub to soak in after long days of walking and driving. Their toiletries are top notch. Comfy mattresses, pillows and bedding. There was some noise from guests above and next door. Plenty of parking. Near many sites. We walked downtown to museums, the plaza, churches, etc. We ate nearby at Tomasita's and Dinner for Two. Both were great!

Yelp
Good location. Very close to Railyard. About 15-20 minute walk to the Plaza. Have a shuttle available but we enjoyed the walk. Pool and hot tub were enjoyable. They have local artists come play traditional music in lobby and bar stays open for a while. Had breakfast at hotel and it was good. Room was small but bed was comfortable.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that New Mexico and specifically Santa Fe is a beautiful place to visit. Warm people and very interesting history. At this hotel there were so many great staff but a big shout out to Misty, Blanca, Sam and Andrew. All were so gracious and went above and beyond in their duties to their guests. While I have read some of the reviews on booking.com and hotels.com, I would agree that perhaps some updating of furniture is needed to spruce up the place but the extra services they provided, the location of the hotel in relation to the downtown and restaurants, and having the restaurant and bar on premises made it a hands down place to return to should we travel to Santa Fe again. Good job Hotel Santa Fe.

Yelp
One of the most disappointing stays I have ever had. No coffee pots in the room They only allowed one day of maid service unless requested even though we stayed 8 days Tiny little closet No safe Sink was clogged and didn't drain properly Not comfortable for 2 ppl staying over a week Breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was subpar and service was horrible I would not recommend at the current price point

Yelp
This place for the price is poor. Terrible food sources. Room cleaners knocking at your door at 730am Lou y frigging internet Very small rooms Crummy hot tub Staff was less than courteious When asking directions in the hotel was directed exactly opposite of where I asked to go.

Yelp
We have stayed here nearly every year for several visits to Santa Fe. The people working at this hotel are all exceptional. The drivers who will take you anywhere within a certain distance from the hotel are friendly, responsive and courteous. Sotantar drove us to dinner last evening, and returned to pick us up - each trip within 5 minutes of our request. We stay in the Hacenda area of the hotel, which provides a lovely breakfast, and a wine reception each evening. Jose was more than helpful each day with numerous special requests. Our room reflects the culture of Santa Fe, and is clean, spacious and lovely. The location is great, parking is plentiful and free, but it's the staff that makes our stay memorable.

Yelp
Came here over Labor Day weekend & had a great stay. The gentleman making my reservation was super friendly & extremely helpful! I was hesitant to book because of COVID but I'm glad I did. Great cancelation policy, great customer service, and hotel staff was so friendly; we had a great stay! The hotel was great with enforcing masks & making sure that they were staying as safe as possible. No daily maid service which I think it's a great way to stay safe during this pandemic. The room was clean & comfortable & was in a great location! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I so thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Loved my room and the bath tub. Loved the central location to everything. Love the patio dining. Just lovely!!!

Yelp
So disappointed with deceptive marketing. We booked this hotel partially for the pool, which is prominently displayed on their website. The website notes that the pool will be closed in "April 2023" for renovations. I checked in on May 6, only to learn that the pool is still being renovated "through May." The hotel never let me know this in advance. There were no apologies. There's really no excuse.

Yelp
So delightful and luxurious. Life with a floor butler is a life to be lived! The happy hour is absolutely delightful, and the views are phenomenal. The location, too, can't be beat! Easy walking distance to downtown and historic Santa Fe. The beds are comfortable and the decor is gorgeous. Plus there's continental breakfast in the mornings! It's amazing too that the hotel is Native-owned-- the only one in downtown Santa Fe, which is incredibly important in an area like this, where the tourism industry has not always respected Native communities.

Yelp
I was disappointed with the room, small and dated. There was a well worn throw pillow on the bed. The bathroom was a two* at best. I expected more based on the price. It is not a reasonable walk to the Plaza, but they offer a shuttle and a very amenable driver. It is nearly a mile away. I was not aware of a continental breakfast unless you went to the restaurant. No coffee in room, but available in the lobby. The best thing is the Sage Bakehouse across the street, it is world class.

Yelp
We check in at 23:30. When we get in the room, I was so disappointed. The furnitures like found in swami. No night table, all the furnitures are 100% different with what they post online. When I call the front desk, the lady told me to give a refund and go to somewhere else. WTF? Excuse me? This is the first time I have been treated so rudely in a five-star hotel. Five- star hotel, I want to give you 0 star service review. And who puts the coffee machine in the restroom room? Are you telling me to enjoy for making the coffee with the shit at the same time? None of the fancy furniture from what they post online shows in the room. All the facilities are of 1950s design, not even a decent nightstand. Use a cheap rag on a cheap broken table to pose as a bedside table. I've never been in a hotel where there was only one nightstand, or where all the furniture was in different colors and different styles. This is a five-star hotel with less furniture than a motel and super bad service. I have such a nice day, but everything goes bad as when I checked in, specifically with the Rude front desk not only did she not offer any help, but she made me more angry. She didn't even show a hundredth of a percent of the patience to offer me any service she did nothing but ask me to check out at midnight, and keep telling me I don't know who put the pictures online, and it's not her, and it's not her business. Thank you so much! You will lose a costumer forever, and my review gonna leaves here forever, too!!!

Yelp
Leaky ceiling in first room. Traffic noise. Expensive for what you get. Close to downtown is nice.

Yelp
I would never recommend this place. They are racist and they are not accommodating. They knew this since August and yet they still chose to attempt to call the police on us for being to loud even though they knew we were coming, it's bullshit. They have rules that no one knew about. They didn't provide a disclosure. They charged us all $600 a piece for our rooms mind you it was 10 of us. Add that shit up! Do not ever come here. The food is not good either! Not worth the price by far

Yelp
Told the hotel owned by a Native tribe. Don't let that fool you into thinking your going to get good service. The restaurant is expensive and the portions are very little and food is ok. And they charge for everything extra. If you want a little extra dressing on your salad that will be $3.00 for a tablespoon. And service is slow. You ask towels they don't bring you some in hours, it took them two days and multiple requests. And the pool was dirty for three days of our stay and we asked for them to clean it each day. DONT BOOK HERE if you do it is your own fault.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, comfortable stay. From the moment you step into the lobby, you are surrounded by Native American architecture, art, and music. The design of the space is beautiful and cohesive, and I loved the overall vibe of the hotel. Bonus points for their restaurant, which has a Teepee dining area - so unique and charming! The room I stayed in was on the 3rd floor, and it was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Parking was plentiful and the location is very convenient; I loved that I was able to get to downtown Santa Fe and the Railyard district by foot. Lastly, I have to acknowledge that my stay happened during an unusual time. Many of the normal hotel accommodations were closed due to Covid-19, as part of their safety precautions. This meant no access to the gym, swimming pool, spa, etc. Honestly, I didn't mind at all because I liked that they are following guidelines to keep guests and staff members safe. This was my first time visiting Santa Fe and my first staying at Hotel Santa Fe. I would absolutely love to come back again.

Yelp
There is no hotel like this... the staff is so friendly want to please you. We had the great fortune to stay here for a week and the food is fabulous early Breakfast and a wide selection of dinner meals always large portions and fresh flavors The decor is real Native American You just can not go anywhere else!!!!

Yelp
The reason for only 2 stars is this: we had started taking our stuff out to our car, but had not checked out. We went up to get the rest of our stuff from our rooms and the cleaners had already gone in and taken our food from the refrigerator in one of our rooms. That was our travel food for our flight. This is totally unacceptable.

Yelp
I'm not a high maintenance person and am pretty easy going. This used to be a fun hotel but it needs to be updated. The sink in our room was clogged and the shower leaked. The hot water is not hot enough and the microwave and fridge are really old and don't work. Overall it's just old and hasn't been kept up. They have two laundry machines; one on each floor and they both were broken and there was a really strong smell of mold coming from them. They only have two luggage carts, so if you have a lot of bags good luck trying to get a cart. And there is no valet service. We called the front desk to extend our stay and they said it would be no problem, but the person we spoke to never bothered to update the reservation in their system so they deactivated our room keys and wondered why we hadn't checked out yet. The staff is polite but under qualified to be working at a hotel that is this expensive. The restaurant has good food and a friendly staff but it's expensive and the service wasn't great.

Yelp
We had such a great weekend at Hotel Santa Fe. The service was the best I've had in years, and I travel for work and stay at many luxury hotels. The food at the restaurant was excellent and lounge had live music and great cocktails. Beds were very comfortable and Hacienda suite was roomy. We loved the option of complimentary coffee and pastries early in the morning. Another bonus, pool is heated year round and perfectly warm for a November swim. Kids loved it. Will be great for apres ski! Walls were thin so I'd bring ear plugs next time. And we forgot to pack a water bottle for the water stations and there wasn't bottled water in rooms. Two minor things I'd remember next time. I also want to try the morning yoga!

Yelp
It's a little pricey - like everything in Santa Fe during balloon festival, but This was a comfortable hotel with modern shower and bath. Pueblo owned, the atmosphere was awesome and the service was very good. The restaurant also had excellent food, reasonably priced, and with entertainment on weekends. We ate dinner there once and breakfast several times. I would definite stay here again for a vacation with the wife or family, but might desk something more economical for business or solo travel.

Yelp
Comfortable hotel with spacious rooms. A special thanks to Danielle at the front desk. Her attentiveness to our requests was great. She truly made our experience enjoyable. She is a Great asset to the hotel. If you ever need anything, she is the one to call! True customer service, which is hard to find in today's world.

Yelp
My hubby and I had our first stay at the Hotel Santa Fe and we were not disappointed. They seem to have the right combination of hotel convenience with B&B charm. Most importantly, they are dog friendly, so we were able to bring our little guy with us. The hotel is located in the rail yard district and is a close walk to the city plaza and many bars and restaurants. They also offer a free shuttle into the downtown area (we didn't take advantage of this simply because we wanted to walk around and explore the town). Though they do charge a resort fee, this includes parking and unlimited bottled water in addition to amenities. This was the only hotel we could find near the city center that offered parking rather than having to pay for a valet or worry about metered parking. I would recommend coming here around spring time as they offer some nice deals. We got 10%-15% off our stay and free continental breakfast as we booked during late March. The breakfast is great, lots of fresh fruit, tasty pastries, variety of juice and more. Though we never dined at the hotel restaurant, Amaya, they seem to have a respectable rating on Yelp. After having some mixed experiences with accommodations in Santa Fe, we've decided the Hotel Santa Fe will become our new regular stop.

Yelp
Room spectacularly clean. Following Covid guidelines with all staff in masks, social distancing. Great prompt shuttle service. All staff-front desk, bar, restaurant were both friendly and responded promptly to everything. First morning, woke early due to time change, went looking for a coffee.... Desk person somehow got some for me within 10 minutes. Thank you! +++Native owned business.

Yelp
This is a very nice hotel with good sized and well-laid out rooms. The food at the bar and restaurant is very good as well. The guacamole has a nice kick to it. I was expecting slightly nicer finishes in the room (Id put them somewhere between a courtyard and a ritz) but the room had everything you would need
