Let me start if by saying this is an older hotel however, being in the heart of everything was the reason we took the room. With that being said we would have seriously passed on this and just stayed at the Holiday Inn which was a slight distance away. But it was too late! I Can say the staff is and was 100% excellent! The service more than made up for the dilapidated ambiance so everything ended up working out and with the free breakfast was a big plus, but would we stay here again? Absolutely not! The photos were taken from the balcony of our room.

My wife and family stayed here on a Monday night. We had a decent experience. However at 5:30 in the morning the air conditioner started dripping on my pillow, so I had to put a towel on my pillow. They do have on site parking so your car is relatively safe. The free breakfast was also nice.

Nice location. Close to all the tourist areas. They speak no English so you will need some Spanish. Rooms are adequate if you’re looking for a more original Mexican experience.

Many fond memories of this hotel. I have stayed here numerous times over the past 30+ years+ years. The hotel and rooms are clean and basic. The price is very reasonable and the staff and friendly and helpful. I appreciate the location right in the center of the tourist district and the secure parking. The free breakfast was good even though they started serving an hour after their official opening. I will definitely stay in y to his hotel again. All in all a perfect place to stay downtown if you have a car. My compliments to the management snd staff of this classic Ensenada landmark.

Google
You are paying for the location. Down the street from Papas and Beer and other cool spots. Rooms are old and outdated. Tv only gets 4 channels. No complementary hygiene products and towels were clean but stained.

Google
Free breakfast is a lie thats just to get you in.Front desk older lady yelling at the trainee. I felt bad for the girl stuck in that. Ocean water 🚿 shower salty..lol..sliding door didnt lock.slept with one eye open. A.c. blowing hot air..they need to invest $ in the rooms badly

Very 80s, clean older hotel. Con is uncomfortable pillow, no shower towel. Worth the money, but dont be fooled by the price posted out front. In-house restaurant, very central to main tourist area and bay, fish market, major shopping center across the street. Free meal is for across street and half on the menu does not apply for coupon, only one coupon per room, sorry baby too cheap to buy you a meal. 4 star for the short cuts normally get at a motel 6.

I stayed at the hotel for about three days. The shower water seemed like it was very dirty and it tasted salty. They also offered free breakfast but i ended up paying. So i went to go speak to the manager who was a woman and i mentioned on why i had to pay. She was insanely rude and had a short temper. I was nothing but polite to her so she had no right to be angry or rude to me. To whoever is the owner of the hotel ; please get a staff who actually has manners and has a lot more patience.

Yelp
English version: Beware! Cash only for a really bad reason! Rooms have no water pressure. You'll be taking a shower and the water will be turned off for a good 5 minutes. I had to rinse off with a water bottle. Hotel staff is trained to play it off and say it's the first time they hear of this problem. If they accepted credit cards, they would be getting tons of charge backs.

Yelp
One of the worst hotels I have been in.. the room had a pungent smell of old perfume.. the rugs in the room were dirty.. I couldn't stay in the room it smelled so bad.. I tried to get another room (the hotel was practically empty) but they refused. I wanted my money back but they refused.. I had to go to another hotel..

Yelp
I've stayed numerous times in this hotel over the past 30 years. This time I brought my family as well. I stayed in room 215, which is facing into courtyard. The good: location (close to harbor and main tourist drag), clean rooms, friendly staff, parking. The bad: location (noisy, can hear party going on outside until 2) expensive in comparison to other hotels around ($79 usd). Then there is complimentary breakfast, but only for one - I have family of 4 so that's little lame. But I shouldn't complain of free. My feeling is that I want to like the hotel, but outside noise doesn't let me sleep until late - so I'd rather be somewhere more peaceful.

Yelp
We came here on an excursion with a group of girls. The people there were quite friendly. The man serving the wine was very knowledgeable about the area and the building itself. He gave us good information about each wine. How it was made and what food items it would go well with. My friend bought one of their chocolates to share as we tasted one of the wines. The chocolate was very delicious with the wine. :) They also brought out some bread and cheese to try with some olive oil that the produced as well. I got a bottle of wine to take back as a gift. It's worth while to come and visit if you enjoy wine and olive oil.

Yelp
This is a nice clean hotel on the strip. You will be close to downtown Ensenada me many restaurants. Everyone was nice and everything was clean. The hallways of the seconds floor must've been renovated recently because they do seem to be nicer than the actual room we stayed in , but everything was decent. The a water dispenser in the lobby which i though was really nice because i drink lots of water, I used it to refill too . The only thing that really worried me was the stairs and the lack of safety rails (see my photo) very time we walked out of our room or my kid made a dash out the door i ran after her because there's no railing and i was afraid she'd fall into the stair well. Other than that, we had a good stay.

Yelp
Best value you can get. I came with a friend, we booked it online and paid $40 per night for a 2 beds room, breakfast included, WIFI as well. I would like to say that I was very surprised by the wifi speed, as I expected it to be really bad, but it was actually really good. There were clean towels and shampoos, and the room was clean. I would like to clarify - don't expect to anything fancy here. But it's clean and comfortable. Besides that, the location is really good!

Yelp
For the price this place is excellent! Clean rooms, safe parking, free breakfast for about $45 for two adults. That's a deal for sure! The breakfast spot is across the street, yelp Mi Mexico Lindo restaurant to check out their food. It was very delicious and have no complaints about this hotel.

Yelp
Well today was a bad day for the weary, my wife and I arrived at Santo Tomas hotel early today and request a room. The lady at the front desk informed us that we could not get a room till after 3pm, she confirmed that there were plenty of rooms and we could not reserve one or pay for a room and to return back at 3.. So we walked around town and returned at 230 to find out all the rooms were booked. I informed her of the previous conversation I had with her, but she just kept saying they were all sold out. So sad to say we didn't get a room.

Yelp
Rooms are ok. A little musty, but clean for the most part. I would come back. It is close to the night life and even closer to the fishing docks. Good times in Baja:)

Yelp
Horrible, horrible place. Went here on a whim with the family and inquired about a room. We went as far as viewing a room to make sure it was where we wanted to stay and at the very last minute when we took out our wallet to pay, they changed the price on us. They said the prices listed "were from yesterday". The lady working the front even asked at the manager behind her to confirm that those prices were from yesterday, and the manager did not say a word and looked down. Ummm yea, they just lost business. Good business because we were going to get the room that held 5 people.

Yelp
This is my favorite hotel in town since its located close to the bars and clubs also a block away from the ocean so as far as location there's no best option. Another thing that I liked is the service since your room comes with free breakfast and overall is super clean. Always stay here my self.

Yelp
After having seen many other hotel options in the area, this is one of my favorites. They are competitive in price, and offer some amenities that other, pricier venues lack. I specifically chose Hotel Santo Thomas for its location, the included breakfast, and the jacuzzi. The enclosed courtyard is a very welcome oasis in that city of concrete, steel bars, and concertina wire. There are a variety of public spaces, where you can choose to either enjoy socializing with other guests, or find some solitude and relaxation of your own. One thing that most people don't realize when they travel to San Jose, is that most hotels have a policy of not allowing ANY guests into the hotel at all, if they are not registered. This means that if you are visiting friends or relatives in the area, you cannot invite your friends or relatives to come up to your room, even for a few minutes. However, some hotels (and Hotel Santo Thomas is one), allow you to invite non-registered guests to your room (for a small fee). They strike a nice balance between accessibility and security. The hotel staff is always present and willing to help you with any needs, from booking dinner reservations, to booking adventure trips, or responding immediately to any maintenance or other issues which may arise. I realized that I had left some valuables in my room, and after a few emails, they were able to send my things up to Boston for me. The breakfasts are very good and very pleasant. Overall, it was simply a lovely, relaxing, and pleasant place. In retrospect, I wish that I had realized when I arrived what I learned only a few days before I left - they have a masseuse available for appointments onsite. Incredible massage for only $30 (I think it was 45 minutes, or maybe an hour - I forget. I just remember how amazingly good it was, how rejuvenated I felt, and wishing that I'd scheduled one for every single day of my stay). Thanks everyone, I look forward to my next visit. Dean

Yelp
This hotel caters to the smart US Traveler in the know the lounge is well appointed leather couches and the floor is quite attractive tile leading up to a spiral staircase. There is a comfortable lounge upstairs as well and the staff is exceptionally friendly and courteous. There are a few shops down stairs where one can get the essentials at a premium. My room was $40 and rates are as low as $31. Rooms were well appointed for this price range. Beds are comfortable and television was outdated but serviceable. Management is planning some improvements. Parking is very accessible and secured although when full overflow parking is directly across the street. Location is right downtown in the center of the the nightlife.

Yelp
Hello everyone, I want to talk about my experience in Hotel Santo Tomas. My wife and I went to ensenada to celebrate our 25th aniversary and we thought to stay in a nice play. I was incharge to make the reservatios and choose Santo Tomas for been the closes hotel to the pier and downtown... worst experience ever!!! To began with, The lady @ the desk has the worst customer service ever, (morning) the rooms, the step to the bathroom has a plastic protection and it was loos and broken I almost fall, the tv channels are blurry and snowy bad recepton, I didnt see any security in their parking lot. As a courtesy the hotel offers free breakfast, they give you a ticket that you have to bring to the restaurant which is croos the street from the hotel, when I check the ticket it was for one person only, so I call the reception and told them about it, the lady who answered my call had a bad attitud and with a bad tone of voice said, humm come to the desk and ill give you the other ticket, so I went and she didnt even said good morning or nothing, didnt even look at me. Well i thought she was not having a good time but it wasnt my fall. So i went to the restaurant, another nightmare been there. Looks like a lowlife place, no cortesy at all! The waitress wears white shirts that looks more grey, no attention at all, they dont explain nothing about the breakfast or free courtesy, I waited about 5 minutes and no one assisted me untill I ask. I told them i had this courtesy from the hotel and they didnt care. So finally I ask for chilaquiles and my wife ask for hotcakes. The chilaquileas were plain and simple, only tortilla and red sauce with onion and cilantro, the hotcakes was 3 pices plain no decoration or nothing few banana slice to the side, cold coffe on a small cup only one serve of it, they dont ask nothing like if you are ok or like more coffe, waitress and chef playing in the kitchen making lots of noise, waitress chaising each other, it was a nightmare. So peopple, do I recommend this hotle? NO!!! please dont go there if you want to have a good time, there is more options all over Ensenada, dont waste your money and time. Have good experiences not nightmares. Im from Tijuana Baja California and it hurts to have this experiences in your own country with your own peopple. WHAT A NIGHTMARE.

Yelp
This place is outdated but none the less very clean! The price we paid was under $50/night and it's located within walking distance to restaurants and shops! I want to give it a three star because in no way does this place offer 4 star accommodations but that would be unfair as it represents a very nice value and the staff does everything possible to ensure we were comfortable. Oh the place does have wifi in the lobby and gives you breakfast vouchers to the restaurant downstairs -so overall it's good value.
