Don't waste your money here. Worst service. The menu states that they have lots of items to order but then they tell you it's not being made at 12pm. They denied the idly and dosai we wanted even though the menu says it's available the whole day. The man who was taking our order disappeared. Someone else took our order. They missed a dish and said it was never written down. My dish came out when everyone else was done eating. Plates and cups were not clean. Seat was dirty and oily. Food doesn't even taste good. Got a veggie biryani. No flavor. Kesari was just mush. Server never checked in on us. The one in Canada is so much better. I can't believe the difference for the same brand. Horrible. 0 stars. Go somewhere else. I'm so disappointed.

Food is tasty. I had idiyappam and it was good. It is at walkable distance from Kapaleeshwar temple. There is lot of seating area inside the restaurant as well as waiting area outside the restaurant. The restaurant doesn’t maintain any hygiene especially in the washroom. The washrooms are in pathetic condition. And there are unisex washrooms making it more uncomfortable for women. The public washrooms in the vicinity are more clean than these.

Decent Veg Fare Near the Temple Visited this outlet near the iconic Kapaleeshwarar Temple. The food was just okay—nothing extraordinary, but decent enough if you’re hungry after a temple visit. Service was prompt and polite, which added to the experience. One major plus is the availability of parking space, which is a blessing in this busy area. Great for a quick vegetarian bite if you’re in the neighborhood. Convenient stop for pilgrims and tourists. Don’t expect gourmet, but it gets the job done. Mapping out memories, follow for more…

Worst experience ever. They dont even bother to take orders - we had to keep asking again and again. Staffs were rude, and the supervisor gives priority only based on people’s status. When the food finally came, it was horrible - too oily, tasted old and nowhere near fresh. At the end while paying everyone suddenly shows up acting like they served well and just waits for Tips. Honestly dont waste your time or money here.

Tried Masala Dosai, Idiyappam, Idli, and of course Filter Coffee, everything was super tasty and authentic. Service was quick too, which made the experience even better. A perfect spot for classic South Indian food.

I visited Hotel Saravana Bhavan in Mylapore after seeing the beautiful Kapaleeshwarar Temple. It was a great way to end the evening. The place is clean, and the service is quick and friendly. The mini samosa was really good crispy and tasty, a perfect snack to start with. I also had the ghee roast dosa, and it was amazing! Crispy and full of rich ghee flavor definitely worth trying. I came from Madurai, and this was one of the best pure vegetarian places I found in Chennai. If you're near Mylapore, don’t miss eating here. It’s simple, tasty, and perfect after visiting the temple.

If there was an option to give zero stars.I would gladly do so. A complete waste of time, money. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, and that too from a so-called reputed brand like Saravana Bhavan, Mylapore. The food was absolutely tasteless, stale, and nowhere near the quality they claim. To make it worse, they charged ₹175 + GST for a meal that didn’t even include extra rice — something that was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. When asked, the staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. The ambience was pathetic — unhygienic tables, noisy environment, and zero effort to make customers feel comfortable. For the price they charge, you’d expect at least basic courtesy and edible food, but here you get neither. This place survives only on its old brand name, not on quality or service. Absolutely disgraceful and a total waste of money. Never stepping foot here again, and I strongly advise others to save their time, money, and appetite by avoiding this place
