Hotel Sarmis embodies a beloved communist-era ambiance, reflecting a distant past. However, the rooms are clean and well-equipped. The staff, both at the hotel and the restaurant, is professional, friendly, and efficient. Impeccable service is coupled with delicious dishes and generous portions. The hotel's central location within the city is a plus. While it caters primarily to business travelers due to its basic amenities, the unique nostalgic atmosphere adds an interesting dimension to the stay.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at Sarmis hotel, and I must say it was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I've ever had. From the moment I walked into the room, it was clear that cleanliness and basic maintenance were not a priority for this establishment. The room was shockingly dirty, with feathers strewn around as if they were confetti, old bed sheets and pigeon droppings on the windowsill. The carpet appeared to have not been vacuumed in ages, and I could see stains and dirt particles everywhere. It was an immediate turn-off and made me question the hygiene standards of the entire place. What was even worse than the deplorable state of the room was the attitude of the staff. Their lack of courtesy and basic training was evident from the get-go. It felt like they couldn't care less about providing a pleasant experience for their guests. Their rudeness was beyond anything I've ever encountered in the hospitality industry. It was disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism. It's truly disappointing when a hotel falls so short of even the most basic expectations. I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to reconsider their decision. This establishment is a prime example of how poor management and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction can lead to an utterly unsatisfactory experience. I will certainly not be returning to Sarmis in the future, and I strongly advise others to steer clear as well. There are countless better options available that value their guests and maintain basic cleanliness standards. Avoid at all costs.

Went for a business trip. Extraordinary water pressure ❤️, clean rooms and bathrooms, very helpfull and proffesional staff(front desk receptionist and restaurant staff, working air conditioning. The conference room is really modern and everything is functioning properly. I did not mind the fact that some furniture is a bit old. Thank you.

Perfect location. Very quiet. Great staff. Private and free parking. 2 minutes walking distance from city center. Approximately 15 minutes walking distance from the cable car that takes you to the Deva Fortress. Mini fridge and air conditioner. If you are a smoker, no worries, you have a balcony ;) It's not a perfect hotel so ... we can tell you that there is only one socket in the room ...and nowadays is not enough :) and it is a hotel with old furniture and kinda old TV ...but ...my wife Connie and I went there because we wanted to visit Deva and relax ...and of course not watch TV at all. So for us, who just slept and needed a shower in the evening and in the morning, it was super enough.||||Disliked · Everyone is looking for ,,that,, view ... maybe it wouldn't be very difficult to invest in a green space on the side of the building.

My 3 night stay in this hotel, prooved to me that quality can be found even in the smallest mountain cities. I had very quiet and confortable sleeps even If the nights were quite cold but there is not much to ask from the September nights near the mountains. The breakfest is divers enought( it depends when do you go- around 7, you have plenty to choose from\ around 8, there's not much left). They need to work a bit on the appliances ( tv connection not the good) but after long walk, tv is no longer needed.

Nice rooms. No microwave or refrigerator. But there is an electric kettle in every room. The private parking is very helpful although the parking lot is a little tight for anything bigger than a sedan.

Nice hotel, quite zone and beautiful zone, the hotel is good and also you can get a room with view to the fortress, the room was from the communist time but looked great it had an AC it was good, the room also had a bathroom and a balcony like I said with a view to the fortress, the elevator was modern and new, the staff was very nice to me and the other people from the group, the reception staff was somewhat nice and the lady's from the restaurant were nice too, they even gave me an extra dessert (In Bucharest if they would have something extra they would take it home, but here the staff was great and gave it to us), the guide of the group told us that they have a very small salary and they are under staffed because of the small salary but the hotel is great and the staff is great, I only stayed one night but it was great, the restaurant was very good also I've seen bad reviews that say that the food is not great but the food is great, in the morning is a Swedish buffet with great food, We asked and everything is made in the city, the room was also good.

The staff was polite. The room had a wierd smell and we were unable to sleep without the window open. The TV is old and the image is of pool quality. The breakfast was very good.
