Hotel Schiefes Haus

The hotel is charming and authentic, with a lot of character. The room was clean and comfortable, although the furniture is a bit dated. The breakfast was decent, with enough variety, but nothing extraordinary. The location is great, close to all the main attractions in Ulm. Overall, a pleasant stay, especially for those who enjoy a local atmosphere.

Hotel Schiefes Haus is one of Ulm’s most unique landmarks — a charming, crooked half-timbered building that looks straight out of a fairy tale. When I visited, it appeared to be closed, so I couldn’t go inside, but I still took time to marvel at its unusual construction and distinctive leaning design. Even from the outside, it’s fascinating to see how the structure tilts yet remains beautifully preserved. Located right in the heart of the old town, just a short walk from Ulm Minster and the train station, it’s a quirky and memorable sight that perfectly captures the character of Ulm.

Great hotel with lots of historic atmosphere, we have stayed twice before over the years. The staff are very good and provide good customer service. The room was comfortable and the breakfast plentiful and lots of choice.

Hotel Schiefes Haus is a fascinating building dating back to 1406, known as the world’s most inclined hotel. Originally a fisherman’s house, its leaning structure is due to uneven settling over centuries. The rooms are cozy and uniquely slanted, but beds are kept level for comfort. Located in Ulm’s beautiful Fishermen’s Quarter, it offers a great mix of history and a central location. A charming stay with a little quirk!

We were very warmly welcomed and shown our rooms - plus given a map of the local area and provided suggestions of things to see & places to eat. The hotel is a perfect blend of historic, rustic, and modern. It is beautiful & clean. The rooms are spacious. The beds are comfortable with super pillows. We enjoyed afternoon wine in the back porch overlooking the creek while passerby’s continuously took photos of the house! |After unloading our luggage out front, we parked the car (Parkhaus am Rathaus), stayed for 2 nights, and explored Ulm by foot. Breakfast was superb (available 0630-1030). A wonderful selection of meats, cheeses, breads, eggs, fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee & tea. |Stay here if you are looking for a unique experience!! The staff were so kind, friendly, welcoming and accommodating! Great stay!

This is a really cool historical hotel which translates to “leaning house”. And it is literally a leaning house with slightly tilted floors and walls, like walking into a museum. The staff here are incredibly hard working and attentive and do so much. This is a rare experience to see. Make sure you book with the hotel because booking sites really raise the price.

The Hotel Schiefes Haus was absolutely amazing. The staff was so kind and helpful, the room and views were beautiful, and breakfast each morning was just what we needed to start our day of exploring Ulm. The Haus is so conveniently located to the heart of the city, but was also a quiet and calm place to relax at the end of the day. Ulm as a whole was so charming, and every time we come back in the future, we will definitely be staying at Schiefes Haus.

This place is special. The floors are angled crazily. Apparently it was in the Guinness book of records back in the 90s when it was renovated into a hotel. For the convenience of the location and its special unique character you do have to sacrifice a bit of comfort. We stayed in the room on the very top floor. It took 4 steep flights of stairs to get to our beds. The shower over the bath was a bit awkward. But for us it was well worth it. Beds were comfortable. The decor is a bit dated (90s chique all the way) but everything is in very good condition. Special mention of the excellent breakfast. The service was also fantastic. Thanks!
