"Behind the brightly colored stucco and dark shutters of this 16thcentury building is one of Innsbruck’s most charming retreats. Owned by the Ultsch family since the early 20thcentury, the Schwarzer Adler has become known for its accommodations as well as its cuisine. Each guest room is uniquely styled with an uncluttered aesthetic and period furnishings, along with oversize beds to sink into after a day on the slopes or exploring the old town."

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Schwarzer Adler in Innsbruck. The room was clean, stylish, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. What really stood out was the breathtaking view—absolutely stunning! The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring the city, yet it feels peaceful and relaxing. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Innsbruck.

Big rooms! Amenities were in great condition. I was able to park my rental e-bike safely for 5 nights. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was outstanding. Fresh bread rolls, sausages, bacon, eggs, cold cuts, sauteed vegetables, sauteed mushrooms, beans, cheese, fruits, croissant, sweet puff pastries I could not even name, tea and coffee of course, and probably more that I missed. A true feast to start the day.

I loved the hotel and it's got a great view. The room I stayed in was absolutely perfect and I like the breakfast too. Staff are also friendly too. The best part is meeting the guests from Luxembourg named Claude and his wife Laure. It has been a pleasure and I look forward to visiting Innsbruck again soon.

What a wonderful place to stay. Excellent amenities, clean beautiful rooms, fantastic beds. Location is perfect, 5 minutes to old town and everything else you want to see. But the best thing about staying here is the staff. I have never met such a consistently friendly helpful smiling accomodating staff as we have experienced here. Nothing is too much trouble, they are all excellent. Whoever does staff selection and training know what they are doing!||Our stay in Innsbruck was made more memorable by our accomodation here. Thankyou everyone.

We had three nights in this hotel as part of our exploration of South Tyrol. The room was very comfortable, with all amenities - including a service room - and a generous balcony where we were able to enjoy a glass of red wine and stunning views of the mountains. There was an excellent breakfast selection, with plenty of local produce. The staff were lovely and helpful. The hotel is also located centrally, near the train station, and all the main attractions in Innsbruck. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent front desk service and location - neither of which can be faulted. However, my room felt slightly tired and definitely needed some TLC, breakfast at EUR20 per person seems expensive when there are countless bakeries and cafes nearby, some choices (e.g. no minibars in rooms, slippers / gowns only at reception) were odd and the intrastay room service was lacking

I nearly did not book this hotel after reading trip advisor. We had a recently renovated room with a lovely Mountain View. The shower water was hot and room serviced daily. They have a fresh water spring in lobby to fill water bottles. Very good breakfast buffet and table with filled roll “to go” should you need a snack while touring. Excellent position for station, Altstadt and restaurants. Would stay again in same rooms.

We recently completed a wonderful 5-night stay at the Schwarzer Adler with our 2.5-year-old daughter at the end of September. From the moment we arrived after a long train journey from Hallstatt, we were met with smiling faces and a quick, seamless check-in process.||Our room on the top floor featured a charming sloping roof (a minor adjustment for taller guests) and offered an absolutely incredible view of the mountains. The space was cozy, well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, and provided ample storage.||This is clearly a family-run hotel, and the entire staff was consistently pleasant, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. The hotel's interiors boast a lovely old-world charm, and its location is perfect—within easy walking distance of the Old Town and the main market area (Maria Theresa Street).||The only two minor areas for improvement we noted were the shower adjustment cord, which was too short to position the showerhead above my neck, and the lack of a minibar or small fridge in the room.||Despite those small points, we had a truly great experience and would love to stay here again when we return to this beautiful city!
