Hotel Schwarzwälder Hof is situated in 10 minutes walking from the centre of Achern. It has 20 rooms. The overall impression is that of a hotel which is well maintained and clean. ||A relatively narrow room on the 1st floor was given to us at our arrival. It has queen size bed. As we are an elderly couple and no honeymooners, we asked for a more convenient quarter. Thankfully we were allowed to move to a larger room with a king size bed on the 2nd floor. The small and the big rooms are both recently renovated, equipped with a recliner chair and a desk. ||The bathroom was spacious, bright and clean. However, the shower cabin is narrow and is no longer of today’s standard. Wi-Fi worked perfectly. A bottle of complimentary mineral water is placed in the room. The accommodation is conforming to the advertised 3-star comfort. Some rooms may have a noise nuisance, especially in the summer months. The hotel is located on a roundabout; and sleeping by open window may be problematic, as the rooms are not aircon fitted. ||The breakfast was adequately garnished with products of good quality. Freshly prepared egg dishes are offered. The Schwarzwälder Hof is a popular gourmet restaurant serving Baden/Alsatian cuisine. The food is deliciously and freshly prepared. It was necessary for us to reserve a table, because the restaurant was fully booked. For the quality of the food, the meals are fairly priced. ||Free parking is available in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, there is no lift, which makes the hotel not an ideal for disabled guests. The employees were without exception courteous and attentive.

I have just got back from a week in Achern/Baden, with my Daughter, Mainly to catch up with a friends rom 53 years ago. We stayed at this hotel (same one for me from all those years ago) and I was so happy that we did. The Host and Hostess were really lovely people and though we knew no German they were very good (with the help of a couple of waitresses) at understanding what we wanted. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and refreshed every day by lovely maids. The Food was excellent and very high class, we ate in the restaurant every night bar one and were not disappointed in the quality of the food. I'm hoping to go back next year.

This hotel has been modernised to a very high standard, the rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. The views from the balcony were great and it was very peaceful. There was plenty of free parking, and a lovely garden. There was an upstairs outdoor area where you could relax with a cool beer or glass of wine.

I arrived with 3 other friends on a motorcycle trip to the Black Forest. It was clear that our approach wasn't silent, because one of the hotel staff was outside immediately and directed us to park securely in a garage on-site. Great start!|My room was in the second floor facing the front. It was hot/humid during our 3 nights and as there is no air con I opened Windows fully all night. The only downside is that from around 0600 you hear the church bells loud and clear. That said after the first night I tuned out from them and wasn't disturbed by them. |My room was very comfortable and clean. Wardrobe space was fine for me but would be a little tight for two. The bathroom was a good size. I didn't use the TV. |Breakfast was included in the room rate. It was excellent with a buffet that contained fruit, cream, cheese, meats, cereal. Eggs could also be ordered. |The hotel has an outside garden / dining area. Great for a beer at the end of a day's ride. We also ate there one evening - the best of our three dinners in the town. |The staff was friendly. One lady spoke excellent English (our German is rubbish) and she was super helpful. |Wifi worked well and was free. |

Most comfortable bed ever. Bathroom was very clean with excellent shower and good water flow.|Staff very friendly, wanting to make your needs met. A little bit of traffic noise, but not bad. Church bells at 0645 woke me up, but it was time anyway.|I paid 73 Euro for single room, plus 5.90 for an excellent breakfast. My relatives paid a total of 99 Euro total for 2.|Fancy cappucino machine was a plus...add some nutella to it and you have a good old American mocha!!! |

I first came to this hotel in 1962! I came back 2 years ago and am currently on my last day here today. The proprietors are really welcoming, although not speaking English and me not speaking German could have been a problem but we got by!! My daughter came with me the last time/this time (in order to visit a very old friend in a home nearby) We especially love the meals here and the chef is top notch! It is so clean and the bedrooms also lovely. You could get your sleep interrupted by the bells from the church across the way but it didn't bother me and the stop at 10 o'clock and start at 7 the next morning - what a lovely sound to wake up to!! I hope I can come again, although I'm getting on in age now, but my daughter would bring me again because she enjoys fine dining and you certainly get that here!

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Schwarzwalder Hof early in October. The room was neat and well furnished. The beds were firm and comfortable. We had no problems with the provided free Wi-Fi. The free breakfast was delicious and plentiful. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

It is a very good place to stay. The rooms are small but comfortable. The do have free fast wifi and free parking. The breakfast is awesome and tasty. There is a church in the neighborhood which wakes you up very early in the morning.....
