They deserve their 5 star . From the service to the rooms to the location of the hotel. They deserve their 5 star. Staff are some of the friendliest most helpful I have ever seen. They always welcomed us with a smile and always made sure to meet all our expectations. I have ZERO criticism. Hard to find one. The whole place is perfect. Well done

5 star hotel in the center of Bern. The hotel is located right across the main train station in Bern. Plenty to see and do all within walking distance in the Old city area. The staff did an outstanding job in making you feel welcome and attended to our every need. Anita at the front desk deserves a special mention as she provided a friendly and professional check-in/check-out experience. The hotel facilities are top notch. The Spa was a great highlight after a long day visiting the city and adjacent locations. Definitely worth the money.

We spent a city break weekend on August 14th to 17th in Bern, and stayed at the Schweizerhof Bern & Spa hotel.|The location of the hotel is excellent. Bahnhofplatz is right in the city center, close to the river (if you want to have a swim) as well Bärenplatz & Marktgasse, where the heart of this picturesque city beats.|We stayed at Deluxe type room and there was not really anything to complain about. The room was cozy and designed in a stylish manner. Complementary water, coffee, tea, etc. were available with no restraints. The service team cleaned it twice a day with very satisfying results. |The sleep quality was superb, and although our windows overlooked the Bahnhofplatz, we did not hear any noises, most likely due to soundproof windows. |However, if you don't like being watched while using the restroom, you might be slightly disappointed, as there is a huge mirror right in front of the toilette bowl 😉 Feels weird.|The service quality was good, the front desk staff was informative, although the hotel might consider staffing the night shift with slightly more competent officers. We had one issue to clear after 23:00 o'clock and the only answer we got was "please come in the morning". This frustrating impression was made up by the restaurant team however – very friendly and courteous people.|We had breakfasts in the hotel and they were really delicious. Large selection of cheese, cold cuts, fruits, breads and desserts. The "a la carte" dishes list was long and interesting – we tried a few of them and they were great. |The overall impression of the Schweizerhof Bern & Spa hotel is very good. It is definitely a friendly and reliable spot on the Swiss capital's map. Our rate is 4.7 out of 5.

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You can’t get better location to travel across Switzerland. I travel on a mixed business and couple basis. Room are clean and renovated, They even received my wife and me with a special decoration at the room since they noticed it was our wedding anniversary. Congratulations to all the staff for a great and complete experience. You receive what you pay and it is totally worth it

I enjoyed my weekend getaway a lot. The location is perfect. Just next to the train station, to the main shopping streets, and 20 min walk from the beautiful Rose park. The sky bar offers nice views. Breakfast was delicious. And the staff everywhere is so kind. Special thanks to Nikita who explained in detail where to go and what to do in Bern. Love also the interior and style of the hotel. Spa is small but has all the necessary. It was truly a lovely getaway to Bern.

I booked a room at this hotel because it was listed in my Capital One travel account. We had been traveling with a Viking cruise and are ending our trip in Switzerland. Since we’ve never been there before, we needed a place to stay for just a couple of days. We had to travel from Basel, Switzerland, to Bern via train, and it was a pleasant surprise to find that our hotel was just outside the train station. From the moment we walked in, the concierge made sure we were taken care of. We had been hauling large pieces of luggage around through the train stations, and he immediately took them from us and took care of them. Check-in was very smooth and easy. Everyone was exceptionally professional and very nice. Once we got up to our room, we were extremely pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it was. There was a towel warmer, and the refrigerator was fully stocked with food. The room was very clean. The next morning, we went downstairs for breakfast again. It was exceptional, and the staff was incredibly nice. We’ve stayed at many hotels, and after traveling last year to Ireland and moving hotels almost every night with our group for 13 days, I would have to say this is probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at abroad or at home in the US. I absolutely could not recommend this hotel more. It was amazing!

Located across the street from the main train station in Bern, this hotel was ideal for our travels. However, most attractions are about a 15 to 20 minute enjoyable walk. |Still there are really good restaurant options close by, including the hotel restaurant which we ate a very good breakfast.|As with most European hotels, the room was on the tad small, but hey it’s Europe and size is at a premium there. But it was clean and comfortable.|I’ve saved the best for last:|The staff are AMAZING! They really go above and beyond to look after your needs and wants. |Each staff member we encountered was so helpful. That goes a long way to any experience at a hotel.

The ceiling was low. The shower at the bathtub was faulty and leaky. Temperature of the room was odd. What disappointed me real bad was that the sauna closes at 9pm n opens at 11am. How do they expect tourists to to enjoy the sauna n pools. Also, the reception did a worst than chat gpt intro of the place. She did not highlight to me that there was a lightshow at the palace. I almost missed it. For a 5 star luxury hotel. Totally not what i expected. No offers of water or refreshments too when i was waiting for me room. No offers to bring my luggage up too.

Great place to work from home if you don't want your employer in the us to know you're in Bern. They have a great bar and private room where you can get on Concalls and have a drink or a cigar. After all, it was 5pm here and 9 am in Cali. Hahaha

I'm not sure if it was because I was dressed in scruffy leather or not but I was treated like a rock star my entire 5 day stay!! From first entering and handed hot towels for our hands and a lovely little glass of fruit sorbet to relax with while checking in to knocks at the door with little packages of goodies with chocolate, drinks and toiletries(not asked for) We were offered free taxi service and complimentary room upgrade. The rooms are beautiful and quite spacious. A rain-shower is always a winner. Good amenities, a nespresso machine and minibar included in price and restocked each day. Turn down of the room in the evenings left some very welcomed swiss chocolate and fruit drinks. Great location opposite the train station and right in the heart of Bern. The staff were wonderful and our room excellent! The restaurant was fantastic for dinner and buffet breakfast every morning. The cocktail bar is amazing with brilliant staff.

My Oh My! I very much hope to be in Bern again soon as this hotel was an absolute pleasure to stay at. In fact, I would go and stay in the hotel an entire weekend if I could. The hotel rooms are perfect in every way, from the plugs at the desk suiting both EU and UK, the overly comfortable bed, wonderful (large) waterfall shower, free minibar (free soda, water, wine, and beer. Hard liqueur you pay), great teas and coffees, and an absolutely scrumptious breakfast... I was in heaven. On the ground floor near the bar you will find a comfortable cigar room which will likely make an American happy as they will find a selection of Cuban cigars (you can thank me later). The spa in the basement is definitely worth a visit, especially in the cold winters, as the hot saunas, pool, jets, and everything else is a dream.

Best hotel we stayed at in Switzerland (turns out 5 stars doesn't mean the same thing to everyone but it was better than expected here!). We were greeted by the bellhop upon our arrival and escorted to the desk where we were given cold towels and juice! We were escorted to our room and shown how to work the lights shutters and tv! Many mini bar items are complimentary which was really nice! Refilled once a day! They also have a spa and three restaurants! The hotel is located just steps from the old town and clock tower and within a few minutes of the rail station. Request a room facing the courtyard to avoid traffic noise in the front of the hotel. The sixth floor is the highest floor. Our only compliant was that the air conditioning was weak even at the lowest temperature but it was still comparable to other European hotels.

The Schweizerhof hotel is, to put it simply, the best hotel in Bern. From the gorgeous architecture to the plush rooms to the unparalleled service to the superb spa to the first-rate gym and pool, this hotel cannot be beat. It stands head and shoulders above the rest of the hotels in Bern and is the ultimate upscale hotel experience. It brims with luxury and comfort. It is located in the most central part of town and many shops and restaurants are nearby. It is an extremely walkable area in the quaint and lovely old town and is also close to the Bahnhof station in Bern. We had the wonderful pleasure of staying at the Schweizerhof for over a month and the entire stay was an absolute delight. Someday when we return to Bern, I hope to stay here again. This hotel ranks so high in terms of excellence that it truly deserves more than five stars.

Beautiful end to a week in Switzerland. The hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they were able to keep our bags until check in. The rooms are beautiful and the amenities top notch. The spa was perfect for relaxing. We only stayed one night but the experience was wonderful. We will definitely be returning.
