Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa

The hotel is beautiful and the staff are wonderful and attentive. The location is perfect if you are arriving by train. You couldn't ask for better access. My only issue is that it can be a bit noisy if your room faces the train station. Not from the trains itself, but from the people milling around the station. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the of the lighting in the room. It was impossible to just have the bed side table lights on. Nearly every light seems to be connected and although there is an option to dim the lights, they are all still on. I did finally figure out how to turn off just the chandelier, but there were still spot lights and bedside lights and entry hall lights. Lighting in hotel rooms always seems to be an issue, but this one seemed to require escape room level skill to figure out how to turn one on without triggering all of them. Otherwise, lovely.

Very good hotel and the location is amazing. It is located in the center of Bern near the train station. Shops, pharmacies, supermarkets, restaurants and tourist attractions are walking distance from the hotel which is very convenient. The rooms are modern, cozy and stylish and all necessary amenities are provided. I stayed there with my family and enjoyed my stay. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet served at a special area during the Christmas period. However, despite all the advantages the service could be slightly improved. The quality of the housekeeping was good, but sometimes this service was provided in the late afternoon. The quality and taste of the Japanese food at the lobby bar / restaurant was also very good, but the waiting time was a little long and our order was mistaken several times. But overall it is a great hotel.

We had a very warm and friendly checkin by Lisa. We were early so we left our bags and went out. Upon our return we were assigned room 501 (a Boutique Junior Suite). A lovely spacious room with a king bed, sofa bed, work desk, Japanese tub that has a tv /mirror, walk in shower, separate toilet, lovely aromatherapy products. if you checkin early and the room is unavailable you can use the spa before hand. Alternatively after check out you can leave your luggage and enjoy the spa as well.||Tthe gym was well equipped. ||The spa was great with a heated vitality pool, a Hannam, sauna, experience showers, nice water beds to relax with some TWG teas; fruit instilled water and mites, dried apple and delicious dates. We loved the experience.||We turned in the "make our room" sign and went out for dinner. Upon our return the room was turned down with slippers by the bedside tables, Tartufino dolce chocolates and still or bubbly water.||USB C and usb a port on both side of the bed frame was really handy, as were the power points on each side.||A quick call to housekeeping and we were addressed by our surname and and we were able to find the hidden kettle (near the mini bar) and hair dyer (in a discreet drawer in the vanity unit).||The room had Ample clothes hanger s and storage space.||There were lovely TWG Teas in the room which we had before bed.||Breakfast was great with some very nice pastries, cold cuts, fresh fruit and juices, coffee and some nice hot egg dishes cooked to your liking. The boiled egg, poached egg and omelette was delicious. Service was great and friendly.||Check out was nice and friendly and we were given some delicious Berner Mandelberli cakes.||Just note the hotel does charge a security fee upon check in that should be reversed upon check out. ||Wifi 36.9 down and 29.7 up.||We would definitely return.

My first visit to Schweizerhof was right next to Bern Station. The room was very comfortable and the design was classic and elegant. The Western-style three-course dinner was excellent, although I, with my Taiwanese palate, couldn't eat much.

I would emphasise the SPA, where I had the most professional medical massage treatment ever. I reccomend it to all travelers having regular problems with back and neck. The gentleman knows his job.|Tho whole staff anyway is Swiss proffesional...

The hotel was beautiful and comfortable as well as Jacks Brasserie which was a fantastic experience especially with our waitress, Isabela Bahia. She was helpful, kind, and gave amazing recommendations for our dining experience. I would highly recommend visiting the hotel and dressing up for an evening to enjoy the restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Perhaps three stars is a “jip” in my rating - but I had high expectations for a very highly priced and rated hotel in Bern. We stayed for 3 nights in their one bedroom premium suite as a family of 3. ||When arriving - we had to inquire of the bellman of what/where to go with our bags to check in. I’d expect at a 5 star hotel a bellhop to be ready to help. We stepped inside to check in and it was a business affair - no offer of a welcome drink (even water). No matter - thankfully we had our room ready a bit past noon so we could go immediately upstairs. Arrival/check in experience - 2/5. ||The hard product of the room earns 4/5 stars. It’s a stunning room, with great space for the family to spread out. Its location is perhaps less than ideal - with a very busy intersection of the train station out front - even with windows closed it was quite noisy at night. The room lacks AC (seemingly, as they offered portable AC units) so our first two nights were very warm until we did take their offer of a fan for the bedroom. 5 star hotel with no AC… ||The highlight of the stay is the housekeeping - the very nice lady that cleaned our room was so friendly, smiling, and did a wonderful job even though we were a bit messy with all the baby toys/etc. We really appreciated how detailed and clean the rooms were. ||The rest is average. Seriously, stick a doorman outside to greet guests with a smile as they enter not just stare at us from behind the desk as if they are unsure we are actually guests at the hotel. Same with the front desk. Get small toys for the babies that stay there to give to the parents (we’ve stayed at 6 hotels on this trip and this hotel was the only one not to have a trinket). ||For the price, I would not stay here again.

Such an amazing stay with the most wonderful, friendly, and helpful staff. Gorgeous room and view. Just such a wonderful way to finish up our time in Bern. The breakfast that was included at Jack’s Brasserie was absolutely top tier and being right there at the train station took so much of the stress out of departure.

Great place to work from home if you don't want your employer in the us to know you're in Bern. They have a great bar and private room where you can get on Concalls and have a drink or a cigar. After all, it was 5pm here and 9 am in Cali. Hahaha

I'm not sure if it was because I was dressed in scruffy leather or not but I was treated like a rock star my entire 5 day stay!! From first entering and handed hot towels for our hands and a lovely little glass of fruit sorbet to relax with while checking in to knocks at the door with little packages of goodies with chocolate, drinks and toiletries(not asked for) We were offered free taxi service and complimentary room upgrade. The rooms are beautiful and quite spacious. A rain-shower is always a winner. Good amenities, a nespresso machine and minibar included in price and restocked each day. Turn down of the room in the evenings left some very welcomed swiss chocolate and fruit drinks. Great location opposite the train station and right in the heart of Bern. The staff were wonderful and our room excellent! The restaurant was fantastic for dinner and buffet breakfast every morning. The cocktail bar is amazing with brilliant staff.

My Oh My! I very much hope to be in Bern again soon as this hotel was an absolute pleasure to stay at. In fact, I would go and stay in the hotel an entire weekend if I could. The hotel rooms are perfect in every way, from the plugs at the desk suiting both EU and UK, the overly comfortable bed, wonderful (large) waterfall shower, free minibar (free soda, water, wine, and beer. Hard liqueur you pay), great teas and coffees, and an absolutely scrumptious breakfast... I was in heaven. On the ground floor near the bar you will find a comfortable cigar room which will likely make an American happy as they will find a selection of Cuban cigars (you can thank me later). The spa in the basement is definitely worth a visit, especially in the cold winters, as the hot saunas, pool, jets, and everything else is a dream.

Best hotel we stayed at in Switzerland (turns out 5 stars doesn't mean the same thing to everyone but it was better than expected here!). We were greeted by the bellhop upon our arrival and escorted to the desk where we were given cold towels and juice! We were escorted to our room and shown how to work the lights shutters and tv! Many mini bar items are complimentary which was really nice! Refilled once a day! They also have a spa and three restaurants! The hotel is located just steps from the old town and clock tower and within a few minutes of the rail station. Request a room facing the courtyard to avoid traffic noise in the front of the hotel. The sixth floor is the highest floor. Our only compliant was that the air conditioning was weak even at the lowest temperature but it was still comparable to other European hotels.

The Schweizerhof hotel is, to put it simply, the best hotel in Bern. From the gorgeous architecture to the plush rooms to the unparalleled service to the superb spa to the first-rate gym and pool, this hotel cannot be beat. It stands head and shoulders above the rest of the hotels in Bern and is the ultimate upscale hotel experience. It brims with luxury and comfort. It is located in the most central part of town and many shops and restaurants are nearby. It is an extremely walkable area in the quaint and lovely old town and is also close to the Bahnhof station in Bern. We had the wonderful pleasure of staying at the Schweizerhof for over a month and the entire stay was an absolute delight. Someday when we return to Bern, I hope to stay here again. This hotel ranks so high in terms of excellence that it truly deserves more than five stars.

Beautiful end to a week in Switzerland. The hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they were able to keep our bags until check in. The rooms are beautiful and the amenities top notch. The spa was perfect for relaxing. We only stayed one night but the experience was wonderful. We will definitely be returning.
