Hotel Schweizerhof Zürich

We stayed for 4 nights at the Hotel Schweizerhof and had a wonderful experience. We came at odd hours, checked in and out, left our luggage in storage and the hotel staff was very accommodating. We tried different rooms and all were luxurious. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Location near the train station was perfect for us as we used this hotel as our base and visited other cities.

Hotel is more into relying on past reviews instead of improving. I was traveling with a tour group that was scheduled to leave the next day. I was hoping to speak to the tour person to confirm what was expected for check out but I was late in returning from a private tour so I asked the front desk staff if they could help me out. They said that the tour guide was done for the day and perhaps they could help. That was nice of them to say so but at times it is best to speak to the person you need to speak to for clarification. One person said the information was on the printed handout and that I should read it. I mentioned to him that because of a eye situation that effects me reading fine print, I can't see it. Other staff persons were very helpful but this person that told me to read it was difficult and not what I would expect from this hotel. I tried to make him aware that I was trying to confirm what I thought I was told but to no avail , he merely said suitcases will be picked up at 8am. One other staff read to me what the time for pick up was and to my amazement, it was a different time from what he told me. Some staff are great but this person made me feel that my questions were above and beyond him and it left me with the impression that asking questions may be snarled at by some staff. Very impressive hotel name but it can do better

This year, we spent our family vacation in Zurich and stayed at the Hotel Schweizerhof Zurich for four nights. The hotel's location is unbeatable. The staff were friendly, and they arranged a room that was very suitable for our family. The room was spacious, clean, and functional. Thanks to the hotel's location, we walked to the old town and took the train to other places we wanted to visit. There are plenty of dining options around the hotel. Unfortunately, it's in a location that really encourages shopping! :)

Loved the location, friendly /helpful staff, and room layout. Rooms remained quiet despite the main train station right across the street. Restaurant on property was great. Would definitely stay there again!!!

Exceptional stay with my family. The hotel located in the heart of town , near to all the transportation , it's very convenient for us to travel around Switzerland, while we enjoyed the peace and comfort of the rooms. The staff was friendly. We are waiting to come back here again with my family See you soon

Stayed here 4 nights just recently. Just over the road from the station so super convenient. Misan at the bar was an amazing barman. Our room was great. One of the best so far on this trip. Robes in the room. Coffee machine. Fresh fruit every day in the room. Chocolates at bed turn down this place justified the price tag. Specially considering its proximity to the station. Breakfast is good. Hot eggs and great hash browns too! Coffee is yummy too.

I expected better from a 5-star hotel. I asked if I could briefly use the restroom to change my toddler’s diaper and was refused because we were not guests. No alternative or help was offered. While policies may exist, hospitality should also include basic human understanding — especially toward parents and small children. This experience left a very negative impression and does not reflect the warmth or class one would expect from Hotel Schweizerhof Zürich.

From the porters who meet you at the station to the front desk this hotel team are phenomenal. Now let us talk about the location. INCREDIBLE. My mom was Swiss and she always said "stay near the train station and you will see why". WOW was she right. There are lovely hotels around the city BUT this hotel is in the middle of a wonderful world of shops, bakeries, and the whole metro system.

When traveling out of the country it is so important that my hotel has great amenities. Not only did this hotel deliver but it was conveniently located. Walking distance to so many different points of interest. Where I could not walk, the train depot is literally across the street from my hotel. I slept like a baby in my power controlled bed that I could elevate with the push of a button. My tv remote had to be charged or I could control the tv using my phone. So cool. Also, there was fresh fruit in my room daily. The hotel breakfast was pretty good; always the freshest of everything. The concierge took great care in booking two of my excursions. Elevators are super small. No other complaints to report.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the entire staff--doormen, bell hops, registration staff and even the staff of the restaurant. We were given warm towels to freshen our hands and a choice of Prosecco or orange juice too. Our floor is under renovations with the carpets covered with cloth and tape. But our room is small but comfortable. The adjustable queen bed was a nice surprise too. We loved the ambient lighting--one set for relaxing, one for cleaning, one for work etc. They have a unique way of alerting hospitality that you wish to not be disturbed--a red tassel for do not disturb and a green tassel for clean our room Or provide turn down service. We are looking forward to our free breakfast tomorrow.

Just across the street from the Zurich main train station. Very convenient, tons of stuff around. Includes a hot breakfast every morning. Eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, etc. My fav part is the adjustable bed. The room was comfortable and clean. They give you fruit and chocolate in your room. Every day. I would stay here again.

The location of this hotel is very convenient. It's right across the street from Bahnhofplatz - Zurich's main train station which has a direct connection to/ from the airport which only takes about 15 minutes. Right outside is a tram stop. Trams 7 and 13 stop here for sure and I forgot the other trams that stop here as well. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and chocolatiers nearby. The hotel has a nice restaurant as well. It's quite pricey at $270+/night which includes breakfast and WiFi. I didn't get to enjoy the hotel breakfast as I had other breakfast plans...or I'm out the hotel way too early for breakfast. But do know that Zurich is one of the most expensive cities to visit in the world. They're 2nd on the list as of 2019 tied with Paris. So, paying at least $150/night for a hotel room is not unheard of. The room kind of looks old but it's clean. Enough space for 1 person. There's a 24hr gym. The usual flatscreen TV, toiletries, and other hotel room amenities. You're mainly paying for Zurich...and the convenient location.

While this hotel is only Rated at 4-Stars, the decor, location, and European style easily gives it 5-Stars in my book! I found a special deal thru Booking.com for this accommodation at a Low-Rate of $246 (original pricing over $400) for a Standard Double Room with One Queen Bed. Coming from Luxembourg, this hotel is a less than 10 minute walk from Bahnhofstrasse, where the main train station is located. I had time to check in, have a quick beer at the restaurant, and then it was off for an event at the Kaufleuten to see Nervo and Friends. It is a shame I didn't take pictures inside the hotel or breakfast buffet because everything was impeccable! I recommend this hotel for its class, comfort, but mainly for the location. The famous pedestrian shopping street Bahnhofstrasse is just a stone's throw away from the hotel's doorstep with shopping and restaurants you do not want to miss! Zurich's up-and-coming neighbourhood famous "Europaallee", the classic financial district by Paradeplatz and Zurich's sightseeing spots are all within steps of the hotel. They treated me like a king during my stay and will treat you the same if you end up staying here during your trip to Zürich!

We've been here two days and love it. The staff are professional and extremely polite. The amenities are awesome and the location can't be beat. If you get the chance I strongly suggest you stay here.

Stayed here this past week so I will start with the pros. Clean hotel, friendly staff and the breakfast I purchased with the room was always excellent. The beds are adjustable which is a nice plus and the shower was hot and perfect. (Really not a fan when hotels have no hot water and skimpy showers!) The room had nice amenities and the Concierge was always helpful and so friendly. Locally close to many restaurants and places in walking distance. The room comes with WiFi which is nice. I really wanted to give 5 stars although the cons cannot be overlooked. The room A/C was not cool enough so many nights I did not sleep well. Yes, I spoke to someone at the front desk and was told 'by law' it could only go down to 19c. Even with the fan running all night it was warm so really do not think it was cooling to 66 F. Another is it is conveniently across from Zurich HB train station and was very noisy from approximately 6:00 am until 10:00 at night. Lots of traffic. I thought I could sleep with the window open to cool down the room but no luck. I always stay at a hotel across from the train station when traveling abroad, if I can, although this hotel appeared more noisy than others. The room was a single, much smaller than the online picture, so I was tiptoeing around my large luggage, etc. My room was also across from the housekeeping office (not sure if that was what it was) but they need to be respectable of guests still in their rooms. The staff talking in the early morning woke me a few times which was not fun after not sleeping well due to the warm room. I think if you stay out late, wake up early, and enjoy a warmer room then this is a great hotel. Zurich shuts down early soooooo........ :)

Coming from NYC we knew Swiss hotels would be luxurious but the Schweizerhof right across from HB (main train) station is regal from the moment you step in. The outside of the building looks like a lot of western European buildings but the lobby is beautiful and the bar/cafe connected to the hotel is gorgeous and always full of sophisticated people, visitors and locals alike it seems! The rooms seemed refurbished as this was the second time we stayed here and for the price tag, the room is a bit small but our company paid for it so whew! The location can't be beat though altho transportation in Zurich is better than any other system you will find in the entire world!

A bumpy start but as far as I am concerned a must place to stay. Service unbelievable. Staff always attentive and helpful. Special shout out to Jay, our waiter!!! Thank you !!
