Hotel Schynige Platte

We booked our room with the train tickets, arrived slightly early than the check-in time. The hotel was so kind to keep our bags so we did a three-hour walk in the meantime. Our room had an amazing view. Beds were comfy and the shared toilet-shower facilities were clean. The best part was the delicious four-meal course which was served at the same time with all the guests staying. It is a must-visit hotel in one of the most beautiful parts of the Alps.

Great location if you're lucky with the weather. Friendly people, cool trainride up the mountain, fantastic views. |Go for the view, and have a great lunch. |Find a modern hotel with your own bathroom and good sound insulation at the lakeside and go up by cogwheel train to enjoy the views, the lunch and a walk if you have the legs for that. That gives you more flexibility and a better sleep.

A wonderful one night stay! Excellent food, cozy clean rooms, and amazing views ❤️ It's a great place to include on a long distance hike too. You do have to share bathrooms, dormitory style. However, that's a trifling thing because the rooms are fun and the food is amazing! If you're staying more than one night, you may not have quite the same dinner experience every evening. The staff seemed you struggle with the second night's choices.

I stayed on a dine and sleep package on a Saturday night. The 4 course meal was exceptional, I thoroughly enjoyed each dish. The location is out of this world, as is the opportunities to move around Schynige Plate after the crowds have gone on the last train down and at sunrise. I got some beautiful astrophotography pictures of the Platte with clear skies. Some of my favourite photographs. The host and staff were very friendly and professional. A warm welcome from all. The hotel feels nostalgic, and I hope they keep it that way, as I loved the decor and ambiance of the place. Fantastic stay, and I thought exceptional value for money.

Superb location. Exceptional views of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau mountains. Easy access by cog railway from Wilderswil. Hiking trails and alpine flower garden walks. Sunny dining terraces with mountain views. Good food, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff.

Did not stay at the hotel, just ate lunch after the hike. Good food and atmosphere but it was cloudy it was cloudy everywhere that day. Great hike

We really enjoyed our stay at Berghotel. The view was absolutely stunning and made every morning special. The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. Highly recommend! I will keep coming back for the service and the view.

The views are incredible, as well as a special mention to the hotel's cleaning service, which left us very surprised, but we found it incredible that they did not have milk or vegetable options in the middle of 2025!
