Hotel Sello Dorado

Very clean, easy to get to hotel with good amenities. Room we had did not have a window to the outside, just to the hall, maybe a good thing as it was very quiet. Clean room and bath, friendly staff as well. The only down side is that it's located in the "car repair" part of town, not the sexiest area to be in but walking distance to the main square. There was no onsite parking for our Jeep as it was too big for their garage, but one block over we got safe parking for the night for only 1$. Would stay again if passing thru Pasto. I've stayed there for only one night on the way to Ecuador, the room was very clean and nice, hot showers with a good stream. Had a small problem with closing the door but it was only in our room. Good price for what we got. The bad thing is the location in my opinion but I've didn't look around too much and the Wi-Fi didn't work in the room

we stayed here for a few days if you are going to stay in Pasto this hotel is very nice. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful. The wifi is excellent and the hotel is located near a nice chicken restaurant. If you don't feel like heading out at night they will order food in for you which is nice if you just want to relax at night. The rest of the area around the hotel isn't anything special but Pasto isn't really a tourist destination with only the Laguna really on offer. Ipiales has more to offer if you want to stay somewhere close to the border and explore otherwise this hotel is a good place for a couple of nights.

Visited ending of march 2016. ||||PROS: ||* Clean and comfortable common areas. ||* Although simple and not too much-elaborated decoration, rooms are clean and comfortable. ||* Staff very friendly and collaborative. ||* Tipical breakfast at restaurant, vey jummy "arepas". ||||CONS: ||* Not so nice neighborhood. ||* Only room can be paid with credit card. All other services (food at restaurant), vending machine, etc. must be paid in cash only. ||* There is no air conditioning system: at evening room temperature was warm, later on early morning temperature became comfortable chilly. ||*Noises from outside (people in the halls, neighbor rooms, kitchen in ground floor) could be heard ||* There is no refrigerator in room ||* Small parking lot: space for about 7 standard cars, ones blocking others ||||||NOTES: ||* Even though I mentioned more CONS than PROS, I give more weight to PROS, meaning DEFINITIVELY I will stay on this hotel next time I visit Pasto. ||* In Pasto there is a scheduled traffic restriction known as "Pico y placa" it is a driving restriction policy aimed to mitigate traffic congestion. Location-wise, it's maybe a 10-15 minute walk from the main part of town, but very close to the bus terminal. The room was promptly cleaned. The most impressive part of my experience was the helpful staff, specifically the young man who took care of our food order and the woman at reception. I had forgotten my one down jacket in Popayan, which is a long bus drive from Pasto, and the lady at reception was so helpful in helping me retrieve it. I took up a lot of her time trying to get in touch with the Popayan hotel, and she was always happy to help. I would recommend Hotel Sello Dorado for three main reasons: the proximity to the bus terminal, the clean rooms, and the incredibly helpful staff. She didn't speak English, and my Spanish is very poor, but she nonetheless helped me through my issue. Muchas gracias!

Very economical, comfy bed, table & chair (easy to do any computer work) and private bathroom with HOT shower. Having hot water in the shower may not seem remarkable, but this is Colombia and at this price point many of the other places I've been to only had cold water showers. ||||On the down side, the only window was to a tiny inner public sitting space with a skylight. So things tended to get noisy when people sat there talking loudly on the phone. Severe lack of electrical outlets. Lucky I travel with an extension cord -- had to run it from the bathroom to reach the desk and my computer. Also, not the nicest neighborhood, mostly car repair shops around you.

This is a great hotel. It is not expensive and has everything you need. Nice rooms, great TV, it is clean and quiet. The only bad thing is the internet quality. It is a little slow and some times it does not work.

I experience a warmly welcome in the Sello Dorado hotel in the city of Pasto by his workers and administrator; this hotel count whit nice rooms and its very economic, the location permit you to have access to restaurant, and facility to transportation. Its well known by the local taxi drivers so you have no difficulty to arrive there.
