This is a wonderful place to stay. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The view from our room down to the Pacific was stunning and the whole site is beautifully landscaped with trees, shrubs and flowers. ||We loved watching the hummingbirds on the walk down to breakfast and seeing the agoutis and coati families most days. We saw many birds from our room terrace.||All the staff were genuinely warm, friendly and attentive. They even point out the wildlife if they see something near you. We saw toucans from the restaurant and a MotMot bird while waiting for our lift to an excursion.||There's lots to do in the area, we enjoyed a guided walk in the Santa Elena cloud forest, the Orchid Garden and a night walk at the Children's Eternal Rainforest, the El Trapiche coffee cocoa sugar tour and just walking the hotel trails.||The food in the restaurant was excellent, and they are very aware of dietary needs. If you do want to want out there are lots of local eateries in the area.||I did not want to leave! We stayed 3 nights but could have easily filled another day in this lovely area at such a super hotel.

This cozy high quality hotel has to be experienced to believe it. We were given a cottage with a view up on a hill with every comfort. There are trails around the property and care has been given to the landscaping and siting of the cottages. With this level of hotel, the included breakfast was first-class. And laundry was also included (a first for me) ||But what really stood out-in addition to everything else-was the hospitality and care shown by the staff in every part of customer service. There’s even an inexpensive opportunity to support the ecology through an adopt a tree program! Pura Vida!||Note: This scenic part of Costa Rica is high up in the cloud forest, and significantly cooler than the lower elevations. At 4,600ft /1400m (approx) you’ll want to bring a warm jacket and a rain slicker. (this was January) I took three tours -Night Walk, Cloud Forest, Hanging Bridges/Selvatura, plus the coffee tour. All vetted and recommended by the staff.||It was truly hard to say good-bye; I hope to return again!😀

Hotel Senda Monteverde was a wonderful place to stay and exceeded our expectations. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always going out of their way to make us feel welcome. We really enjoyed the tasty food and drinks on site, which were complemented by the hotel’s picturesque views of the surrounding cloud forest. The clean, spacious cabin was comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and it was easy to get to downtown Monteverde with a quick taxi ride. A relaxing, well-run hotel that we’d happily recommend to anyone visiting the area.

My family recently had the pleasure of staying at Senda in Monteverde, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The hotel’s location is a serene sanctuary, slightly removed from the bustling town center of Monteverde, yet still within walking distance. This balance provided a perfect blend of tranquility and accessibility. The hotel itself is beautifully landscaped, with well-maintained trails and hiking paths that invite exploration right on the property. The architecture of the rooms was thoughtfully designed, blending modern comfort with a touch of local charm. Note, it was ok to flush toilet paper :) What stood out the most was the warmth and professionalism of the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure every need was met, and their hospitality truly enhanced the experience. Additionally, the on-site restaurant offered a delightful breakfast each morning, featuring fresh and tasty ingredients that set a positive tone for the day. Overall, our stay in Monteverde and at Senda will forever be cherished. It was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting the region.

We loved our stay at Senda. Our room was so comfortable and privately situated, surrounded by nature. At check-in, we said we were interested in scheduling a night tour and Laura quickly arranged that for us. Our night tour with Joseph was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. We learned much and saw fascinating creatures during our enjoyable walk. Our meals at Senda were extraordinary and our servers were friendly and efficient. The nightly turndown service was a wonderful surprise. Senda exudes serenity and hospitality. We look forward to returning.

Simply magical! Wow. Hospitality at its finest in a serene, natural, upscale and truly incredible location. Even the basic room feels like the most luxurious. Carmen and Tatiana greeted me and Michael graciously drove me and my luggage to my room. The trails and proximity (and free admission) to the nearby reserve are an awesome perk! Room is VERY well appointed with free snacks and drinks and the most delicious coffee ever. Turn down Service with chocolate and a filtered water bottle must be the best I’ve ever seen. Top notch service from everyone! Go see the guys in the restaurant Sapo- Gabriel, Adonay and Alexander will make your stay complete.

This really is a special place! We were only here for two nights and wished we had stayed longer. The service and welcome is lovely and everyone is so helpful. The little extra touches like hot water bottles and heater when you return to your room on a chilly evening, the free treats and drinks in your room, the hand written note from the manager, all these make a truly memorable experience. Our room was perfect, amazing views and an incredible range of birdlife just by the balcony. The restaurant was exceptional with outstanding food and service.|Overall an amazing hotel which I would high recommend!

When inquiring about a lodge to stay at during our visit to Monteverde, one place stood out. Senda lodge appeared to be a nice site with good views on the Bay of Nicoya. We were wrong ! The pictures on the web site are nowhere near conveying the charm and distinct features of this lodge. Indeed, “in person” Senda Lodge is much more beautiful, well maintained and providing a habitat for many creatures. Moreover, the personnel are professional and very responsive. The restaurant offers a tasty local menu that is hard to match. We stayed in cabin 25 which is spacious and well situated to gaze at the sunset.
