I was on holiday with my family in Mérida and had booked a New Year’s Eve 2025 dinner at Hotel Sevilla. We were a group of 8, traveling from Dubai, Luxembourg, Syria, and other places to reunite for our annual celebration. Just 15 minutes before our reservation, the hotel sent us a WhatsApp message (not even a phone call) informing us that our booking had been cancelled.||||When we called, the manager explained that the owners had decided to give priority to some last‑minute friends, leaving us without a table. When we expressed that this would ruin our family’s celebration, he laughed and told us we should “think about the people in Palestine who won’t be able to celebrate New Year.”||||This behavior is unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. Cancelling a confirmed reservation at the last minute, prioritizing personal acquaintances over paying guests, and mocking customers in distress is a huge red flag. If you value reliability, respect, and basic hospitality, I strongly advise avoiding this establishment.
