Amy was honestly the best front desk person I’ve ever come across during a hotel stay. From the moment I walked in, she made me feel completely welcome and taken care of. She greeted me with a genuine smile, checked me in quickly, and even gave me great local tips that made my trip way better. Amy went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. When I had a small issue with my room, she handled it right away and followed up later to make sure I was happy. It’s rare to find someone who’s not only professional and efficient but also kind, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. Her customer service was top-tier, and she made my whole stay feel more personal and enjoyable. Honestly, she was a big part of why my experience at that hotel was so great.

Valentina was very professional with our stay.. she helped us very much… the hotel is very nice and friendly… we stayed for three days and had complimentary drinks and coffee every day. I will definitely book again with Hotel Shelley! WE LOVED IT.

This hotel was everything. I truly mean that! Valentina was exceptional. Her spirit and energy is amazing. Inside the hotel there's a bar and the owners are amazing. The vibe is everything. It's literally not that far from South Beach. I'm definitely advise you to stay here.

I had a wonderful experience at the hotel, thanks in large part to the amazing receptionist Valentina. From the moment I arrived, she made everything smooth and effortless. She was friendly, professional, and welcoming, making check-in quick and easy. Her positive attitude and helpfulness truly made a difference in my stay. Great first impression and excellent service all around!

Valentina was a gracious host. She helped with everything we needed to make our stay great. My daughter and I loved our stay. The room is quaint and beds are comfortable. Water always available and cold. The staff is friendly and always says hello with a smile. We will be back next time we are in South Beach. Thank again Valentina and Hotel Shellley!

This Hotel is sooo Beautiful, and like a 1 min walk to the beach. Meylin was extremely helpful and let us check in really early which was a HUGE life saver! She is an absolute delight and extremely friendly! Our room is perfect and the bathroom is gorgeous. We even have a mini bar which we of course had to dip into lol. We only stayed 1 night but it was a great 1. Thank you sooo much Meylin for all of your help and outstanding customer service! Will definitely recommend this hotel and hope to stay again if i revisit Miami.

We had a wonderful experience during our stay, and I want to especially highlight the exceptional service provided by Amy and Valentina at the front desk. They were warm, professional, and incredibly attentive, going above and beyond to make sure my daughter and I felt welcome and comfortable. From the moment we checked in to the time we left, they made everything smooth and stress-free. Their kindness truly made a difference in our stay—thank you both for your outstanding hospitality! 5stars girls I be back soon !

Google
Valentina was very helpful for my first time in Miami , such a charm <3. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed down to making sure we had the best price. The staff specifically Ruby is as welcoming and comforting like Valentina. To top it off they have a Bar that does 4 shots for $20! An amazing lobby area very cozy and elegant. They do provide coffee from 8-10 am. Oh ! They are also part of the hotel right across and they provide airport shuttle, beach chairs , towels and a free drink at another near by hotel free of charge! The rooms are decent size for a 3 day weekend with two rooms, 4 people in a double bed and other two in the other room with double beds., ranging under $600 for both. They do provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash. The rooms do also have a mini bar. I did hang out in the lobby until 2am , no issues what’s so ever at peace and comfort while still being part of the nightlife in Miami.

Yelp
The location was so good. Really close to everything. The room was nice and the staff is really great and friendly. Especially Meilyn really made our checkout so convenient.

Yelp
Disgusting ! April 19th 2024 elevators are broke . Had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs ! This place should be shut down . Room smell horrible . Condom wrappers in front of our room . No receptionist or front desk . Have to walk to another hotel to check-in . People were sitting outside smoking weed in front of the hotel . This is not a hotel , more like a motel . Do not book !

Yelp
The other reviews are pretty accurate; you're not going to get a great experience with an old hotel on Miami Beach, but I do still feel like I overpaid. Not accessible since it's a walk-up. Our door was broken and only opened partially. We were able to get inside the room, but because we didn't have many bags with us. Rooms are small but met our needs for a short stay. The AC is a wall unit, so it's loud and humid. The staff work in the hotel across the street, so this one seems not to be staffed at all; someone even made themselves at home in the lobby overnight. They do say it can take 5 days to get your deposit back and recommend reaching out to your own bank to get it done faster, which I found odd, but it did get returned within that timeframe anyway. There wasn't much noise from the street since our room faced the back, but the other guests were noisy overnight (again, makes sense given that it's Miami Beach). Overall, if you're here to stay up and party on the beach and just need a bed, this would meet your needs.

Yelp
5 star FFFFF Charged me 2 X for resort fee, (the fee is 4 towels, soap, shampoo.) Mattress was the most broken down lumpy peace of crap in the USA. Noise coming from out side made it impossible to sleep. People yelling in the hallways after midnight. No convenient wall out lets, could only find 3, not electronic friendly at all. I put this hotel in the category of a back stabbing thief. If your young want to party all night this place is 4 you.

Artie H.

Yelp
THE WORST! Greedy hotel and staff that doesnt get paid enough to care. Unswept floors in my room, key cards that repeatedly didnt work, staff that just ignores you when you ask something etc. The crazy part is the charge you the resort fees at the door upon arrival with ZERO warning. I stayed for 3 nights so that amounted to $85.50 out of the blue. Look, if they had let me know in advance, fine, but there was no warning whatsoever about this. Note that I had already paid for "taxes and fees" in my original booking. I stayed in other hotels in South Beach, and other places, including about 20 other countries, and never ever had this kind of experience. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO LET THE CUSTOMER KNOW WHAT THEY GOTTA PAY BEFORE THEY ARRIVE, RIGHT? Not at the Hotel Shelley. They will charge you last minute, and if you dont wanna pay, you cant stay there. Anyways, Orbitz refunded me the $85.50 and are looking into delisting them. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Beaureu. AVOID THIS HOTEL. PLENTY OF GOOD HOTELS IN SOUTH BEACH. HOTEL SHELLEY IS NOT ONE OF THEM. attached is pic of the receipt for the additional charges

Yelp
Hotel Shelley on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach is a great place to stay close to the beach and everything else. I have had a really good experience every time I have been here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
I gave this review 1 star for mainly two reasons: 1 - our room was the size of a small closet. 2 - when we asked if they had rooms because we wanted to extend our stay one extra night, they lied and said no. So let me elaborate. The hotel itself is just OK. I've seen much better in South Beach. They are conveniently located a block from the beach and next to everything you could possibly want including a grocery store, restaurants, etc. The rooms are ridiculously small. They were only two of us so we got a queen size bed room. I walked in the room initially and all I could do was laugh because I've never seen such a small hotel room in my life and I've stayed at plenty of hotels in many different cities. It was so small that I felt claustrophobic when I was in there and tried to spend most of my time outside of the room. The room itself is just OK. The AC was falling apart but it did work so I guess that's what's important. Cleaning service was good daily. They offer free drinks for guests between 7 PM and 8 PM every night. We went down to take advantage of this perk and we're basically served Gingerale with no alcohol which is really no surprise but still disappointed. We had a bottle of vodka so we added our own to it. The female bartender was not friendly. So here's the kicker. We initially had reservations from Friday to Sunday. Sunday comes around, and we decide to ask the guy at the front desk if there was any availability for one more night. He says without looking in his computer, there is no availability. We stepped outside and looked it up online to see for ourselves and what do you know, rooms available! We bring the phone in and show him and watch his jaw drop. He had that look on his face like "I can't believe they went and looked it up themselves." He seemed like he didn't want to be bothered to do his job. So then he says, "oh you have to pay me here." My response was "no I don't because I've already paid for it online." I just shook my head at him in disappointment. I thought about asking for the manager but I let it go. Maybe they'll see it on here. Horrible customer service. Anyways, do not stay at Hotel Shelley in South Beach would be my suggestion. There are plenty of other options to choose from.

Yelp
I was a little skeptical booking a room at Hotel Shelley after reading the numerous negative reviews, but took a leap out on faith after getting such a good deal through Airbnb. I was in desperate need of find a room close to the American Airline Arena for Drake's concert but not too far from Ocean Drive, which made Hotel Shelley the perfect place! Hotel Shelley is walking distance from literally everything and is a great option for anyone interested in Miami's nightlife. I saw a lot of complaints about noise but my friend and I did not have that issue the night we stayed here (mind you we booked this room on a week day.) Just a warning the rooms are pretty small but the beds were super comfy, and the full length mirror was a perfect touch for getting ready. I tried to book this room again for spring break through the hotels website and was almost charged triple the price. If you can I would suggest booking through Airbnb for the best rates!

Brianna H.

Yelp
The front desk receptionist Katy made our stay so much better. Our room didn't have hot water to shower and she made sure to get us in the next room for hot water asap at 6am. She was super nice and helpful all night with good recommendations.

Tyler F.

Yelp
I would give a zero if I could. I had reservations for a one night stay at this location before attending a cruise. However, when I arrived there was no one to check me in. A large group of street partiers in the front. Wide opened door for anyone to walk Come Inside. There was a group of girls arguing with the security that there room had been broken into. Thankfully they notified me before I was able to stay. The unsafe and dirty environment entering was all I needed to run the other way. Thankfully I found a super nice hotel elsewhere.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Save your money. IT'S DISGUSTING and MOLDY. They still refuse to refund me and claim all sales are final when my things were literally covered in poop water and pee water coming from upstairs. I was a guest of Hotel Shelley from December 2, 2021 to December 5th, 2021. I shared a room with my friend. The stay at this hotel was traumatizing and a nightmare since the first day at this establishment. The staff was rude repeatedly and had no regard for the safety of its guests. These are the following complaints: 1) Upon arrival into our room on December 2nd, at approximately 3:00 am, we found our room flooded with an influx of toilet water from the floor above. Our suitcases, jewelry, electronics, clothes, shoes, skincare, make up items were all completely drenched in yellow water which is likely toilet water from the floor above. If necessary, we can forward a video we have taken of the toilet water causing damage to our items. 2) Upon making a complaint to the front desk and asking them to please move us to a new room or a new hotel, they refused and did not provide towels or a bucket for the continuously dripping storm of water in our room. 3) As we had no other choice at 3:30 am and without any aid from your staff, we stayed in the room with water continuing to drip. In addition, significant wall damage was beginning to show in some spots. We did not get any sleep as we were worried that the walls might give in from all the water and flood the whole room. 4) On the following morning, December 3rd, 2021, upon complaining to the front desk girl worker in the morning who had no empathy or compassion for the events of the previous night we finally spoke to your manager. The manager did not provide us any aid other than promising to come back to put us in a new room. He never came back and put us in a room. In addition, because of Art Basel week most hotels were full and we could not book a new stay ourselves. We are grateful to the cleaning lady who took pity upon us after she saw the damage in our room and provided us with a key for a room upstairs, room 206. 5) The room upstairs, room 206, had a faulty toilet which did not flush at times and a shower door which would not close causing more water to leak from the shower in the bathroom. Every time we took a shower, the bathroom was flooded in water. 6) In addition, we were never provided a code for the entrance door and found ourselves, two young women, locked out in the street in middle of the night. 7) The front desk staff was not continuously present at the front desk for very long periods of time which poses a safety risk to guests of this establishment.

Yelp
This place do not even deserve a one! It was disgusting and the customer service was HORRIBLE! We arrived at 4:05pm let me remind you check in is at 3pm. Well the room was not ready! When we finally received the room, it was unbelievable what we walk into. The room was still dirty from the previous guest. We requested someone to come and clean it. Well no one never showed. I went to the front desk and complained about the room and the non working hot water and that the Tv was not working. Well I was referred to Gregori the manager. Well Gregori never fix the situation, never returned my calls or emails. This shows that this HOTEL IS A DUMP AND CAN CARELESS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! It's so much I want to say, but so little room to write. Please look at the pictures we took of the room we were given, TOTALLY DISGUSTING!

Yelp
Hotel Shelley. Where do I begin? My friends and I arrived in Miami Beach with smiles on our faces and dreams of a fun getaway, and while we did have a great time, it was definitely not supported by the hotel as a whole. Upon first arrival, we made our way to the front desk where we would see someone working there (actually, it was one of the ONLY times someone was at the front desk!). The lady told us we had a room for 2 people, not four. Luckily, my friend who booked the room had her confirmation email to confirm it was booked for four people. The beginning of the stay wasn't terrible. We were given three towels for four people (????) and we were on our merry way. It struck us the next day how bad this place truly was. Our toilet began overflowing. Massively. Not due to the fault of any of my friends or myself, but simply because the toilet was broken. We told someone at the front desk, and they said there wouldn't be anyone to fix it until the next day. So the toilet continued to soak our floor in pee water for a day, ruining our towels. We never received cleaning services in our 3 night stay either, so the room got pretty low on supply. Out of towels, out of toilet paper, and nobody at the front desk to help get us restocked. I mean, they didn't even have ice or provide us with a toilet to use while ours was overflowing. In addition to all of this, there was some suspicious stuff happening at the hotel that seemed pretty dangerous, but I'm not sure if the hotel even knows that because they were never at the front desk. Overall, I would not recommend this place, even though it is in a good location, it is not worth the many many problems that it comes with.

Yelp
I didn't expect The Ritz. It's an old hotel with a lot of character & conveniently located by foot to the Miami Beach attractions and the beach itself. This hotel is affordable. When you book your hotel online from their site, you will only pay for (a) reservation fee and (b) one night at the hotel, which is non-refundable. The other days you booked are held for you but not yet paid for...despite having a receipt showing the total price. Check you bank account if you don't believe me. Compare it to the receipt and the fine print. In order to check-in, you will need to pay a $100 deposit. Once you're refunded the deposit, it takes up to 5 days to get to your bank. This hotel does NOT accept cash for any reason. They're not set up to accept cash. The a/c is a wall unit, so there is no de-humidifier like ones already built into a central air unit. It will be very humid during the summertime. I removed the filter out of the wall unit and cleaned it because it had caked-up dust & lint. It took 3 minutes. The water pressure is good and the water is hot, too. There's no elevator so, you'll have to carry your luggage upstairs yourself. I saw no evidence of ADA compliance. Since it's a registered historic building, they may not be required to do so, but I'm not certain about this potential issue for those with disabilities. And the other guests were pretty trashy, but so is Miami Beach. It's like Bourbon Street...at the beach!

Tamirah N.

Yelp
I have always stayed at this hotel every year but now i don't recommend. Not only do they charge $100 deposit for every single night you stay. That is truly unfair. The rooms don't have mirrors and it's so many mosquitos. It's ridiculous. I went home with so many bites. They also charge me because the sheets and towels were "dirty" because it had make up stains. I think it is BS. The sheets have to be washed regardless so that shows that they don't take the sheets off after a guest leaves. If it cleans they just fold the bed back for the next customer. Even though it's walking distance to everything. It is not worth the money. I will rather spend more money for better customer service.

Kimberly R.

Yelp
It's tiny and if you care to sleep, there will be no such thing. Doors slamming, people trying to get into our room, maids just ready to come in to clean your room without even knocking!? No elevators, a staircase.... the lounge downstairs bumps music so loud we can hear it from our room. If there are girls with heels on, you can definitely hear them above you on the wood floors. The bed pillows were comfortable, the mattress was ok. But the bed linens were stained with red wine or some sort of colored punch which was disgusting to discover. The shower water takes some time to figure out, a few of us got hot water, some didnt. Convenience was nice, walking distance to alot of great shops and eateries. Not sure I'd I'd return.

Lester S.

Yelp
OK. I don't usually want to bad mouth a place. I do love the color scheme, but that is it. If you have to check in across the street to get in to your room in the hotel across the street. Go up three flights of stairs and the key doesn't work. Hmm Go back and get a lecture on not putting my key to the room near anything magnetic. Wow ok. I go back and walk up the stairs to find the room is not cleaned. I understand mistakes. I walk all the way down, go back and they give me another room. Boom.. Guess what, the other room is worse than this room. Im done. Not that serious. I go back to cancel, they say.. No refund. I try to dispute with my credit card company since they don't return my call. All you get back is the deposit they hold on a separate charge.. All I can say is if you don't care what it looks like. Go.. enjoy south beach. just don't expect much.

Whitney B.

Yelp
The best customer service ever front desk rep Jocelyn was super helpful and when our reservation was cancels they worked hard on making sure we got our room and found a solution

Megan B.

Yelp
Don't stay at this hotel. It's filthy: mold, mildew, bugs, hair in the bed etc. Management refuses to communicate with guests to resolve issues. They don't have an airport shuttle as advertised. The WiFi doesn't work and there is a horrible smell in the lobby. There are absolutely zero redeeming qualities about this hotel.

Angelica M.

Yelp
The best of this hotel is the design is kinda girly which I like but other than that, you have to check in on the hotel across the street The Chesterfield (I guess) and even when they took a little while to give us our room because it was a busy day, the front desk staff were very friendly and nice. Once in our room the air conditioning make a lot of noise, I guess because it looks really old and did not get cold it was working more like a fan than air conditioner. The bathroom was very good and all they leave for it was amazing (make up wipes, shampoo, body lotion, etc.). A good thing of this hotel they did not charges us the fee other charges on Ocean Drive.

Britney T.

Yelp
thank you for your great hospitality & energy -Girls From Room 107 . Thank You Babygirl

Jalyse S.

Yelp
This place doesn't even deserve the one star I have to give it to leave this review. Absolutely a never again in my book. When we checked into our room, the key cards DID NOT WORK. I had to ask the people at the front desk to let me into my room the whole entire weekend. As I walked in the door didn't open fully because the bed was directly behind it. The bathroom door was jammed half way open. Our sheets AND towels were dirty. I told the lady at the front desk I was uncomfortable leaving the room when maintenance had to come fix the door and her response was "why we can get in your room if we want to either way", I even complained to the manager who replied "you have to understand that things happen".Customer service, cleanliness, the whole hotel was absolutely disgusting.Honestly SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT BOOK THIS ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Stay away. The hotel was terrible. I was not given the room that I booked. Was given a cheaper room. The front desk staff was not helpful at all and did nothing. Front desk staff and manager are not responding to the phone so if you have an issue it won't be resolved. Most of the time no one from the hotel was even present on site. We had a crazy person yelling in the hotel at night around 3 am, it was never addressed cause no one was there. Not safe, not clean , unprofessional. Terrible experience.

Mulacheech M.

Yelp
rachel was very welcoming she deserves more than 5 stars great job ana

Paige W.

Yelp
I'd love to give this place ZERO stars, but that's not an option. We stayed at Hotel Shelley on July 3rd and WOOF. There's no elevator and we were given a 3rd floor room so we trekked up flights of stairs with bags of heavy luggage, I'm assuming the hotel hasn't maintained plumbing or fixtures in years because, holy cow, the smell in our room. The drainage from the shower in the bathroom wreaked of putrid sewer and chemical smell - so bad that we had to shut the bathroom door completely and shove towels underneath the door jam so we wouldn't smell it. IT. WAS. AWFUL. Imagine a hair salon with the strong chemical odor of perm and dye, mixed with sewer - that's exactly what we smelt during our stay. Upon check-out, we were told everything was good and a week later, I have a charge on my card for an item from the minibar. We only stayed one night in this hotel before flying international and because of the smell, we spent most of the hours other than sleeping OUTSIDE of the hotel. I've tried calling and emailing for a week, no one answers the phone, operators have hung up on me, messages have gone unanswered. All in all, this was an awful hotel experience. If you're visiting Miami, avoid this hotel and ALL other South Beach Group hotels. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache!

Brianna D.

Yelp
If I could give this place no stars I would. An absolute nightmare to stay here. PLEASE DO NOT. You'll better off sleeping on the Miami streets. This place needs to get shut down. The key to our door did not work, we literally had to ask the front desk to let us in every time we left, and because they run two hotels across the street from each other, we had to go across the street to be let in. The manager was the absolute worst, as one of the front desk worker even agreed. They refused to switch us, or get maintenance to continue to fix the door. THIS HOTEL IS SMALL & DIRTY AF. There's a plaque on the bathroom wall that says their bathroom marble has be reserved since 1931 and that seems that's the last time they serviced and cleaned this establishment.

Joe S.

Yelp
More like hotel "Helly" - odor, poor service, and employees sitting on their phones while you're waiting for service. My Husband and I waited for 45 minutes to get checked in, then the room had a horrible odor!

Cindy R.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE, HORRIBLE, WORST HOTEL I'VE EVERY STAYED AT!!! It was my first time in South Beach, I wanted to in a art deco hotel. And thinking it's South Beach and judging my the pictures I thought this hotel was going to be perfect. Especially since it's so close to the beach. That is the only good part about this place. First off, the freaking front desk is across the street and 2 building away from the actual hotel (should be motel). I have booked on Booking.com and got a email saying I was able to check in 2 hours early but when I got there the staff told me I couldn't. So I had to leave our bags in the lobby and it was locked literally by a chain with other luggage. I was really worried that our stuff was going to get stolen. When we finally got to our room I was surprised to find out that there was NO ELEVATOR, and we were on the 3rd floor. They have staff that can help but we didn't want their help after we saw one of them buying drugs right off the street from a car. The Room, was so tiny that the door touches the bed. Everything did look like the photos but the photos don't show how thin and cheap the beds are. The mattress has a plastic cover, which in Miami and in the summer was awful to sleep on. The bed almost caved in and the bed isn't on a box frame, it's on straps so it feels like your sleeping on a hammock and it was hell on my back. The AC barely worked, it didn't start blowing cold air until later that night. The bathroom had no ventilation and it was very hot even after taking cold showers. The windows are glass and the Miami weather goes right thru it. The TV was terrible. Planes have better TVs than that crap they had on the wall. We only had 2 channels and everything was static. We almost had a break it!! Later than night, one of our rowdy neighbors who were drunk tried to get into our room. Thats when we noticed that the door had damage like if someone kicked it in before. The front desk gave us no empathy and just said "It's Miami." That's not excuse. We hardly slept, worried that someone else would try to get into our room and because our neighbors were slamming their doors all night. Due to the thin walls we heard EVERYTHING THEY DID. It didn't stop till 3am and the next day we checked out. It was the biggest waste of money and such a mistake. You made my vacation A NIGHTMARE. And I hope no one ever stays here again.

Julia R.

Yelp
Room is what was expected - it's Miami Beach. Your not spending time in your room. Great place to crash for a south Beach weekend. JAMES at the front desk was so nice and accommodating.

Casey C.

Yelp
So I booked this place through airbnb and thought ok great location and great price. All the reviews on airbnb were great. So I booked it and then I came here and read the reviews on yelp and I got nervous about this reservation but I said whatever it can't be that bad. But when we were walking up the stairs (no elevator) all you can smell is cigarettes. I was still also feeling like ok this won't be that bad. I immediately checked the beds for stains and hair and there was a small stain but it didn't seem new it just seemed like a normal stain, I still wasn't, stressed being that the room was so cheap. But then I tried to shower, the bathroom window was duct-taped because the glass was completely broken, there was soap scum all in the shower. THEN THE SHOWER CURTAIN HAD SPLATTERED BLOOD ALL OVER IT. I told the housekeeping and they never addressed it, the front desk said they would send the housekeeping and still nothing. We didn't shower the whole time we were there. The lobby had loud dance music blasting all night and all day. I would say that this place is great for people trying to get blackout drunk and not be aware of their surroundings.

Christopher V.

Yelp
I have stayed at Chesterfield Hotel once and have also stayed in their suites once. However, this is my first time staying at the Hotel Shelley, which is also one of their properties and it seems to be the red-headed step child of the bunch. The room size was fine because, well, it's Miami/South Beach, you can't expect a room size to be huge and not to mention, this was a last minute trip for Art Basel. but it's almost as if Hotel Shelley is forgotten. First off, the phone in the room did not work when we had to call for them to bring us clean towels. To the point, where we actually had to cross the street to get the towels ourselves. It was rare for the staff to clean our room, which we found weird. At one point, we entered the room and ONE bed was made while the other was just left the way it was, not to mention, they never re-stocked our toilet paper, thankfully one of us had wipes for us to use because even when we went across the street for toilet paper, they told us someone will be right to our room with it, no one ever showed up.

Bradley S.

Yelp
This place was absolutely horrible. The staff was useless and so rude. Honestly, not even sure how this place is in operation and by who. They phone lines do nit work, not even to call the desk. What's more annoying? The hotel desk is the hotel desk ACROSS THE STREET!" I love tiny, boutique hotels, but this place was a total nightmare!

Rajat G.

Yelp
Just returned from my stay at this hotel last week, it was a great experience. The location was perfect, just walk to all the great places. The hotel has a happy hour that had 3 kinds of drinks free for the entire hour, the free shuttle to the MIA airport was like the cherry on the cake. The hotel room was not that small, all the services were great. Hotel also provided beach towels everyday. No issues with bathroom, key card or any what-so-ever. I was reluctant with this hotel after reading reviews at first but i have no complaints. This hotel might not be for someone who wants to relax as they have music playing entire day but hey this is Miami, who wants to relax anyway.

Yelp
Very good hotel and nice staff, especially Mr. Brock, was very accommodating and helped us with questions.

Yelp
My friends and I stayed in Hotel Shelly for spring break and this was the worst experience for a few reasons. Reason 1: Our hotel room key did not work for the entirety of our stay, but this wasn't uncommon. We asked our neighbors and other visitors and they complained that they had to exchange their key numerous times, as well. One day we were late to our plans because they had to reconfigure the keypad on our door, because it broke. Reason 2: It's greatly over priced, because the snacks in the room were old yet, $2.00 for a Snickers bar. Reason 3: Horrible room service. We'd ask for towels or soap and did not receive them unless we called back or went to the front desk multiple times. ****REASON 3: BED BUGS!!!**** - Yes, BED BUGS! They hotel is so poorly maintained that it is infested with bed bugs. Left the hotel around 3 weeks ago and my body is still covered in bruises and bites from the bed bugs. My friends who stayed with me we are covered in bites as well. WE CALLED BACK FOR OUR MONEY AND THEY REFUSED TO REFUND US. Overall, the 4 days I spent there were highly unpleasant. This hotel is very cheap in design, tacky in design, employee services and amenities AND FILTHY/ RIDDLED WITH BED BUGS!

Yelp
What a DUMP. This place actually needs to be shut down. The 1 star is for the bartender, David, at the hotel across the street. 1. Keys don't work. Had to get them reset every time we left the room. 2. 100% sure the sheets were not changed. We ended up changing them ourselves after noticing the next day various dirt marks and toothpaste on them. 3. Toilet ran all night, shower stunk, no toilet paper, no blow dryer, no garbage can, phone didn't work. 4. Trash under the beds and in the bathroom vanity. 5. There is 1 sheet to cover up with while you sleep, but this place is so disgusting I was too afraid to ask for a comforter. 6. Someone puked in the hallway our first night, the smell was horrendous and it wasn't cleaned up for 24hrs. 7. Nobody works at hotel Shelley. No front desk, no bar, nobody watching the front lobby and the people coming and going. It's pretty much just a frat house open to any passer by. Most concerning thing was not seeing 1 housekeeper the entire 5 days we were there. We tried to move rooms but wasted 2 hours waiting for "reservations" to respond to the front desk. We ended up staying in the same room to save our 1 beach day. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

Yelp
I don't even know where to start I am so disappointed. The room is okay the bed was supposed to be a queen I felt more like a full. Happy hour you don't have a lot of choices to drink from. I had issues with the key battery died on the reader I requested for it to be fixed and I walked out to go eat that was the biggest mistake - they fixed the issue but my credit card was also stolen and transactions was made. This hotel is not safe at all. The front desk there is hardly anyone there . I will never go back to this hotel and is not one that I would recommend

Yelp
The staying was alright. I gave this place one star for a reason which I will mention later. Once I got passes a few things at this hotel , I was fine. The hotel lobby look very ghetto looking with dark, dim lighting. There are a bunch of hipster, young people hanging out at the lobby at all different hours of the day. Walking into the hotel and I thought I entering into some kind of whore house. The music they have on at the lobby are very depressing and loud. There are no elevator to carry your luggage upstair if they give you the room on the second or third floor. You have to carry it upstairs yourself. The door keycard never work every time I tried to open the door. I have to swiped my card several times to opened my room. The bathroom look very old and need major update. The ac is not cold to the maximum temperature. The hotel location is a block away from the beach so that pretty convenient. There are a lot of shops, bars and restaurants around the area that open real late at night if you want to grab a bite to eat. The front desk people are very nice and helpful but the services at the reservation office suck big time. No one answer your phone call when you trying to reach them at different times of the day. My nightmare begin here. I booked a 9 days stay over the Labor Day weekend. I only get to stayed for 4 days here and they kicked us out of the hotel on the 5th day due to hurricane Irma. The government evacuated the whole state of Florida and all the hotels in the area was shut down. The manager of the hotel told all the guests that we will get a refund within the 7 days period. It past 2 weeks and I still didn't get my reimbursement. I contacted the hotel and they told me to call expedia.com instead because they are the one I booked my reservation through. I called expedia and they told me they never receives any refund from hotel shelley and unaware of the claim. The two institutions kept kicking me back and forth and no one took responsible for the refund. It a nightmare to get my money. Long story short, I finally got the reimbursement at the end with very hard works and in a very aggressive way through constantly calling both institutions everyday and harassing them for my refund. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone non will come back here again.

Yelp
Warning! LONG detailed review ahead. There are several reasons to give this place one star and to NEVER EVER STAY HERE again! RUN!!! As a matter of fact, if I could give this place no stars, I would! First off the staff is extremely rude, with the exception of the maintenance staff! Clerks, maids, everyone...all rude and lack professionalism! Upon arrival, we were told it was okay to check in early. We arrived and checked in but was then informed that the hotel was full from the night before and they were waiting for check outs and then would assign us a room. We then asked about what time, the woman at the front desk informed us that it would be around 1. This was okay because we were waiting for the rest of our group and wanted to grab lunch. There were several luggages near the door, she stated that we would be assigned rooms in the order we arrived. When we returned from lunch, the luggages were still there but we witness several people walking up to take their luggage as they were checking out. Basically none of the luggages that were there for check in and she could have just simply told us that we could only check in at a set time, 3 pm. The hotel is extremely small!! No elevator and you have to drag your luggage upstairs as they don't have bellmen to help! The description online states it sleep comfortably 4 people, absolutely not! The rooms are basically the size of dorm rooms with two queen beds in them. There are no stand up mirrors and very cramped for 4 people to try to get dressed. It's an old building that I assumed was renovated so the ventilation in the hotel is awful. It was literally HOT everywhere we went! We stayed for 3 nights and our room wasn't serviced one time! The maid knocked on the door one of the days and we asked if she could come back in 20 minutes and she said yes but when we left and came back we realized she never came. The beds are HARD as rocks, literally. I wish I could make that up, but we all woke up with back pain daily. Our TV was broken and wouldn't turn on, they actually came to replace it as soon as we told them. That's probably the only positive thing I have to say. The room had a wet mildew odor that was worsened bc the air conditioner didn't work well. The bathroom was DISGUSTING, very small. No shelving and just all around gross, I can't even go into the level of dirtiness, honestly. The first night we arrived the entire hotel didn't have hot water for hours. We woke up the next morning and was informed in order to get the newly fixed hot water to work, you must turn the handle to the cold water option. What a mess... They use the sister property for EVERYTHING. The resort fee that is included as a daily charge, but you have to walk across the street for everything...Ice, beach towels, towels, pool, cups, etc. The second night, we asked for towels because no one came to clean our room and was informed that the hotel was completely out of clean towel!!! One of the clerks in the front ran across the street to get towels because everyone was just so upset. We even had to called several times just to get toilet paper. The only positive thing I have to say is that they have happy hour everyday but I can't attest to how the drinks are, but it's there and it's an option! The music In the lobby is good. Also, it's close to everything, so you're basically paying for convenience. It's definitely WAY overpriced for the level of crap you have to deal with. I was looking for something great to say about this hotel but there is literally not a whole lot! It was overall a pretty horrible experience and I would not recommend anyone to stay here!!

Yelp
I hate writing reviews that are negative, but in this instance I truly needed to address the situation. We checked into hotel around 4:30pm, the woman at the desk while looking up our reservation, was on her phone, barely acknowledging us, which is something unfortunately I have gotten used to at stores etc. Once checked in, we entered our room and went to turn TV on and the remote didn't work, (room 104) went to front desk and told the same woman, she went on to the walkie talkie and told the maintenance person, so tried to get back into room, key didn't work, my husband opened door and I tried the other key, that didn't work, so the woman at front desk tried with new keys, they worked and didn't work. That being said finally got a key to work, the room was small, but honestly that did not bother us, the bed was clean, however, was not comfortable. We had reservations for 6pm for dinner, so when we left we told the gal at desk they could come in and put new batteries in the remote. We got back at 8pm and the remote was never fixed, when going to desk (new woman) she said can't help you until morning. We were leaving in AM so guess what, at 805 we went to bed with absolutely nothing else to do. There was no hot water, for at least 10 minutes upon running it, and it was not really very hot, So with all that said, I really want to say that I've been in the service industry for my entire life, I believe when training your service people they should be trained to be friendly, courteous, and helpful. I found your front dest person almost dismissive with an attitude of indifference (being on her phone while checking us in) . Your hotel, considering it offers no more than a bed to sleep in, the front desk people should be cheerful and helpful without making people feel like we were inconveniencing them. Maryola Dannebaum

Yelp
I've stayed at Hotel Shelley on a couple occasions with friends. We found it through Expedia with good review and decent prices for such a great location (one block away from the beach). They do run a free shuttle service to and from Miami International Airport. Return trips to the airport depart from the Chesterfield Hotel every 2 hours on the even hour. Trips from the airport to the hotel run every 2 hours on the odd hour. The room itself has been redone, wooden walls painted over in brown with a small 13 inch flat screen hanging. Still a bit of a moth ball smell to the place...but you just get used to it. This is definitely NOT a hotel for families. It's a boutique hotel where the young come to party so don't be surprised if you still here loud clubby music playing from the lobby at 5am. They also host an open bar from 7pm-8pm on weekdays (only certain vodka drinks). The bartender makes a great show of it all, even pouring free shots straight into your mouth from the bottle. Overall, good place to stay for a decent price. The location is unbeatable!...and who spends time in the hotel on vacation anyways?!

Yelp
Well! Regardless of the 1 star reviews, I found the Hotel Shelley to be just GRAND! I was only in town for 3 nights and everything from the checkin to the checkout was very professional. I booked my stay through Travelocity for a single king room. The price was just right. I didn't booked the shuttle from MIA to hotel for the fact that my arrival was after 10pm. When I arrived the desk clerk "Erik" engaged in great conversation and got to know my as a person. He even recommended a few local food spots. I do suggest using a credit card for incidentals... my hold was back in my account after check out less than 24hrs (it was a weekend) I arrived to my room and behold it was a double bed.. for the same price since my room was paid in full. The a/c was on room lights up. The fridge was fully stocked and a delicious snack assortment. The bathroom was nice and amenities were basic. The beds very comfortable. EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN!! It was very quiet on the third floor... which was perfect. The beach was a block away from the hotel. Weather and work schedule permitted me from going to the beach. I didn't get the chance to partake in the "happy hour" but my friend who was there as well stayed in a sister chain & we took advantage of that. It was my first time in South Beach and my stay was great. The ambiance of the hotel and what they offered met my needs. I would stay here again and again.

Yelp
Pretty sweet boutique hotel right in the mix of things on South Beach! Love the purple & cream decor they have on the exterior of the building. The lobby itself isn't that big, but has a pretty well stocked, nice bar. The bar also serves hookah, which you have to smoke outside on the patio. Our main bartender Marina always made us feel welcome and definitely took care of us. They also have free happy hour from 7-8PM. The lobby is always rocking out with music so you will always be in the groove when you're heading out to the beach or getting ready to take in the very sexy views of South Beach They have a free shuttle that will take you to and from the airport which saves you $ on a cab. They guys at the front desk were more than cool and always helpful when needed. The room itself wasn't the biggest for 2 guys, but we didn't plan on spending a great deal of time in it. Lighting wasn't that great either, but we made it work. There was an awesome stereo in the room that we blasted all day & nite (even when we weren't in the room...Lol). I definitely recommend Hotel Shelley if you don't wanna spend a ton of money on lodging. Very fun spot to stay in!

Yelp
This was one of the clowniest experiences of our summer-long road trip. Without a place to stay in Miami Beach, we hit up Priceline.com's name-your-own-price feature with a few days to spare. I figured it wouldn't hurt to low-ball it, and bid $28 for the "2-star and below" category for hotels, expecting a big "Keep Dreaming" screen to pop up. But no! With taxes our bill came to $39 for a two-bed room and a lobby bar that featured a FREE happy hour from 6 to 7 p.m. All the well drinks you can suck down in an hour. We made it to the beach before the happy hour, but afterwards we were toast. Two of us made it around the corner for some good Cuban takeout, but that was it for us. It's not often you find a hidden deal like this, but we made out like bandits at this place. Thanks to Izzy for being the most cartoony bartender I've ever met.

Yelp
Great location! Walking distance to everything in south beach. Cute hotel - The paint and decor was chic inside and out. We were lucky enough to stay in room 301 which had a great view. But no elevator! Good thing I had my buff bf haul our luggage and beach cruisers up and down the stairs :). The shower design had no curtains or doors to prevent water leaking onto the floor so I had to use a towel to prevent a flood. The room is stocked with goodies if you choose to stay in and snack/drink (but why would you want to stay in when you're in south beach). The room was clean and cool (I'm glad the air conditioner actually worked here because we stayed in other hotels in florida where the air conditioner would barely keep the room cool in the hot and humid weather). Daily Happy Hour - open bar for hotel guests! But the open bar had a limited menu (rum or vodka mixed with soda or fruit juice). Either way I was happy to get free drinks :). Friendly bartenders. Great music plays in the bar/lounge. There was a DJ station set up but never saw a DJ spinning. Free airport shuttle - Waited almost 2 hours for the shuttle although they claimed to pick up guests every hour. Felt more like a party bus because it played loud fist pumping music the whole ride there. Free beach towels and beach bag. I wish they provided a free beach umbrella too to complete the beach package. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future.

Yelp
This hotel is simply amazing they helped when no one would and the staff Frank and Jonathan are great and we appreciate they're amazing service!!

Yelp
This place is one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed at. I booked it for 3 days in South Beach from Hotels.com which listed it as a 3 star hotel......when in reality it's a 1 or 2 star establishment. It's old, outdated and the cleaning solution they use was horrible smelling, the windows don't open so you can't even air out the toxic room, the toilets wouldn't flush right, the shower overflows, the view from the window was a family of stray cats and a building being renovated. Everyday you heard construction happening right out of the window. Then, I was forced to depart a day earlier (which couldn't have come soon enough) due to a health emergency because I have cancer and they wouldn't refund the 3rd night that I didn't even stay there. Rude. Disgusting. Never again.

Yelp
The hotel is in a GREAT location! On the same street as many of the stores and restaurants. Very chic and modern. Room had plenty of space for two girls. It had a small walk-in closet with an ironing board, safe and shelves. Also, was stocked with purchasable tons of goodies from the minibar (drinks are all in the mini refrigerator). Not that you need to buy an overpriced small bag of mini cookies when you can walk to the million convenient stores around the area. The dark lighting was cool, gave it a real dungeony feeling -if you're in to that type of stuff! :) The staff was very friendly. There are no elevators so the bell boy has to carry all luggage up the stairs. They recommended clubs and restaurants and schedule airport transportation. The complimentary happy hour sucked. We went down one night and didn't bother to come back the remaining nights. Drinks are weak and unfortunately when I was there, there was no one to really socialize with. I took off one start bc of their damn room keys! I literally had to come downstairs every time I tried to get back into my room bc the key was always demagnetized. Good thing we weren't too far from the lobby. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. The price is about right and the location is just great!
