Hotel Silken Juan de Austria

One of the best family rooms we ever had on quite some travels. Separate bedrooms and bathrooms for us and our two teenagers. And connected together. |Excellent breakfast and diner was ok. Very pleasant prices for drinks and tapas. Staff all very friendly. The hotel parking was challenging (step and narrow spaces). Liked the public parking at only 2 minutes away at our 2nd stay. For us a deserved 4 star hotel. At a much higher standard then our 3 and 4 star hotels at France in our trip to Portugal and back. Would stay in this hotel again in future.

We booked this hotel because it has a parking. Turned out to be full, and good luck finding public parking around there. We circled for 20 minutes and just decided to park a 20 minute walk away. This is not a 4 star experience. Reception staff was friendly.

The awful thing about this hotel is the fact that there is one heating control for all the rooms and if your room is too hot- you have to suffer it. Open the window they said - onto one of the main roads in Valladolid. Avoid staying here because quality of sleep is zero. I was travelling as a group and it was our one shared constant complaint. I hope never to return.

The rooms were really good quality. On the other side, the breakfast was awful. There were flies sitting on the food and when I reported it, they didnt do anything about it. The oily eggs had run out, they didnt replace them despite waiting 40 mins. The variety of food was poor. ||Also, at the point of check in, minimal information was given.

I really wanted to like this hotel. When you walk in you are greeted by a beautiful lobby and friendly staff, however my stay there was disappointing to say the least. The hotel has no gym, which is a bummer, and the pool water is green. In my 5 summer days there I didn't see a single soul get in the pool and I don't blame them. That's not the worst of it however. The A/C in the room can't be adjusted by the guest and doesn't cool enough for a comfortable sleep in summer. To make matters worse the A/C broke all together for 2 days, however, once fixed it didn't make too much of a difference. That's unacceptable in my opinion. A few other things that bothered me: the breakfast buffet is quite pricy for it's limited selection. The silverware was often not washed properly, and they often ran out of items and took long to replenish them. All in all the location is the only thing saving this from a lower score. The staff was friendly but the issues around the A/C are just unacceptable. Guests should always be allowed to set the A/C to a comfortable sleeping temperature for them. For the record I weigh 150 pounds so I'm not some obese person complaining here.

We loved it here. Comfy bed, all you need is here. Helpful front desk, cleaning crew. Restaurant downstairs is at least 5 star facility. Impacable service, ambiance, delish food. We will be back.

We had booked this hotel without really reviewing it and we were very happy with it, the receptionist was very pleasant on our arrival. We got there early and decided to go in and see if our room was available, it was and when we got to the room they had left a bottle of wine as a gift (really nice touch). The bed was massive and really comfortable. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Great value overall. The location is on a nice boulevard which is peaceful through the night but only a 10 minute walk to get to some more lively spots.
