Very nice hotel with very reasonable prices, very well located close to everything traveller may need but still in quieter alley. Noises from the streets does not bother you here. Rooms (dorms & private rooms) are clean with basic comforts: warm showers, towels, soaps, tv, daily cleaning of the room. It has nice lobby, rooftop and balcony area where you can hang out. |It has great location, walking distance sights like Dirbar Square, Hanuman dhoka and Monkey Temple. Hotel also provide information about trekking and tickets to transportation. If you ask before hand they can organize airport pick up.|I really enjoyed my time in this hotel. It has become like my second home. The hotel staff and owner are supernice and helpfull, they managed to create great and relaxed atmosphere. You can see they dont do this just for money, they genuinely care about your wellbeing.|I really recommend this place for both short and long-term visits!🙂||-Heidi H

Price quality it's good for the location. Don't expect a 5 star hotel, it's also not what you're used to in developed countries. It's not wheelchair friendly, doesn't have an elevator, but!!! The staff is amazing! Really friendly. The place has what you need. I stayed in the dorm, because I wanted to meet travelers, but it's more having a private bedroom. Beds are comfortable, nightstands, lockers, balcony in front and small in back and it has a nice place up front. The main street is loud, but it's way up better than in the center of the city. Here it sounds further away. And would be way much better with more people.

Fantastic location right around the corner from everything happening in vibrant Themal. A safe and peaceful haven. Wonderful hotel manager Prem Lama is friendly, professional and welcoming. The rooms are simple and comfortable, keys to keep everything safe and feel at ease whilst you explore the exciting city. Bring ear plugs as surrounding area is bustling at night. Relaxing, cute outside garden area to chill in just next door. I would recommend to stay here for the perfect base whilst exploring Kathmandu. Enjoy! Namaste

Laughing Buddha Home||||Lekhnath Marg, Thamel 29, Kathmandu, Nepal (just near ManMohan Hospital)||||Email: knockag@hotmail.com, Web: laughingbuddhahome.com||||Tel: 977-1-9841225794, 01-4422562||||On a quiet backstreet, by a narrow lane that blocks motorbikes and cars, just hidden behind a hospital, is a wonderful little long stay guest house, the “Laughing Buddha Home”. It is managed by a pious Gurung Buddhist family. This is not a party place, but if you want to have a good experience of Nepal and its people, then please do consider staying here. The rates are fair, and especially for long stays there is even a further reduction. Rooms are well maintained and smoke free. Bathrooms are clean. The WiFi works throughout the floors. Electricity is constant. Hot water is rooftop solar, which is a wonderful temperature, or backed up by electrical heating. Rooms on the sunny far side of the house are southern facing, with a lovely garden view. Authors like to write there viewing the garden, watching birds fly, and hearing children's laughter from a nearby school. One can thus set up a bit of a home atmosphere, and enjoy a quiet, easy life. The location is at just the northern most end of Thamel, so all manner of restaurants and services are easily available. when you want them, else it's just serenely quiet.

I've been in Kathmandu for 3 days, and Silver Home was a very nice place to stay. They have a variety of rooms ranging from 200 nrp per bed to luxury suits. Staff here is super friendly and helpful, nice to chat with. There are several areas for working and chilling inside the hotel and a big open area on rooftop. The only major downside I've found was lack of hot water 24/7 (pretty much like in 90% of Nepali hotels). 11 yaks out of 10, will visit again!

I am an American, and despite the fact that I had a Nepali friend to stay with in Kathmandu, I decided to stay at this hotel for a couple nights during my trip so I could experience the tourist attractions and nightlife of Thamel on my own. And boy was it worth it! The hotel is just a few minute's walk from tons of great stores, bars, and pubs, as well as the beautiful Narayanhiti Palace Museum and the Garden of Dreams, both of which you should absolutely visit. I came back from clubbing very late a couple times, no problem (just make sure to save the hotel number in your phone in case the front doors are closed!). The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating for all of my needs, and they cooked me breakfast! The room wasn't super fancy, but it was great for the price, and relatively clean. I got one of the deluxe rooms, which has a ceiling fan, a bathroom with a sink and western toilet and cold/hot shower, a television, multiple electric ports for US/Europe/UK plugs, a queen-sized bed, a bedside table, a desk, an armchair, and multiple windows looking over the street. There was a small roach problem (can't blame them, it was the middle of monsoon season!), but they were very quick to fix it by gassing the room with RAID while I was gone. Overall it's a wonderful little hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Thamel for any period of time.

My stay with Prem Lama Tamang at Silver Guest House was a fantastic experience. The staff were excellent and super friendly. The hotel was in a great location away from the hustle off Thamel. The business owners on the street are all super chilled and friendly. ||||One might when I could not sleep they stayed up chatting with me showing me the local music and made me a drink to help me sleep. ||||Next time I come to Kathmandu, this is the only place I am going to stay. ||||Prem Tamang and co, you are legends!

First of all my questions goes to Trip Advisor. How you recommended this hotel to people? Did you check the hotel standards? Absolutely horrible and did not worth to stay even it was free? I went there to stay a night. No receptionist, there was a guy who was told to receive me. That guy was a tradies not a staff. Toilet was horrible, no water to flush, no water to take bath. Opps kitchen was too messy. They told me to provide free breakfast but no body was there. Even there had someone I would not have taken that breakfast because of messy kitchen. Utensils were too dirty even hard to find clean glass to drink water. Room was not secure as door lock was not working. So please don’t make mistake by booking this hotel. You won’t get value of your money. They are cheaters and thug. ||My request to Trip Advisor, please remove this hotel from your list, otherwise you will lose your faith and trustworthiness. My humble request to you.
