Hotel Singulier (Bordeaux, Nouvelle Aquitaine) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Behind an unassuming façade in Bordeaux’s Gambetta district, Hôtel Singulier reveals a world of only eight rooms and suites, plus a private apartment. Interiors balance romance and modernity: crown moldings and parquet floors offset by velvet headboards, wicker wardrobes, and sculptural lighting, much of it crafted by local artisans. Each room has its own character, from freestanding bathtubs to marble-clad showers, while the Audacieuse suite surveys the rooftops. A leafy courtyard and rooftop terrace complete the sense of a private, hidden escape." - Tablet Hotels

Outstanding Hotel with an ideal location in the Historic Unesco Heritage section of Bordeaux. The room has central air and extremely comfortable beds & pillows. The hotel, for now, has no elevator but it will be added soon. The owner, Francois & the staff, Sasha carried our luggage up & down.Marine, the Chef, made us delicious breakfasts each day. Fresh juices, fresh fruits, yoghurt & eggs. Of course, a choice of croissants & a savory or sweet treat. Marianna, kept our room immaculate. We would absolutely stay here again! I celebrated my birthday here and they brought me a homemade almond torte with fresh plums & crème & a candle. Be sure to get full details on how to find their hotel if you are driving.

I was not a 100 percent sure of what to expect and was delighted by what I found. This charming owner operated ( husband & wife) hotel was the perfect way to begin our trip. The room was exactly as pictured and the bed was comfortable and the room was cool on a hot day. We stayed in room 20 ( only a bathtub no standing shower) The roof top deck is tiny but sweet and a wonderful spot to enjoy a drink or a well curated breakfast. It was walking distance to everything we needed. The best part of our stay was the owner Francois and the care he took to ensure our stay was perfect. He went out of way for us. For that we are truly grateful. I would stay here again and again.

We stayed for only one night. The room was attractive, the bed was comfortable, and the staff we met were very nice, but overall our experience was mixed. Firstly, the TV screen cannot be turned off; it has a kind of screen saver image that remains on and emits a low light into the room (my guess: equivalent to a 15-watt bulb). Some people might like having a night light on, but for people who like absolute darkness while sleeping, it's annoying. (By the time we figured out that this was a problem it was 10pm, and the front desk staff had left. We could have called them for help, but decided it would be too much trouble for them, and draped a duvet over the screen.) Secondly, although the hotel is on a side street, it is only a few feet from a busy road, and the road noise is intrusive. That bothered me, even with earplugs, although my husband can sleep through anything. In retrospect, I should have asked for a roof that faced away from the street, and I should have asked how to turn off the TV screen image when we were shown the room, so these were my faults. Lastly, the tub and sinks were in the room (i.e., not in a separate bathroom). I know some people like that, but it's not our taste.

"A wonderful boutique hotel in a fantastic location in Bordeaux. The rooms were spotless—on the smaller side, but that’s quite typical in Europe. The staff was outstanding and extremely accommodating."

Last week, I accidentally booked a night at this hotel for the same day and immediately called to say it was meant to be for later in the year. I was told as I was within the cancellation policy of 24 hours there was nothing they could do. Whilst I appreciate that a refund might not have been possible and there was no expectation for them to do anything, as it was my mistake, it would have been great customer service to offer to move my booking to the date in September when I had meant to book it for. I could see a couple of rooms free when I booked, so anyone else who might have wanted a room for the same day, would also have been able to get one, and it was an honest mistake.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by going to Bordeaux and we selected Hotel Singulier because my brother recommended it after staying there in Oct 2023. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so friendly and helpful to make our stay wonderful! The rooms were a nice size with high ceilings, large windows and plenty of space for our luggage. We stayed in a Junior suite and the amenities were luxurious. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was heavenly because it was so comfortable. It was very quiet at night and we enjoyed the homemade breakfast every morning in our room. I would recommend paying for the breakfast because all of the food was scrumptious and we definitely felt pampered every morning. We had homemade pastries, granola , yogurt, fruit and eggs anyway, we preferred . Not to mention, we love the lattes too. They also have a roof top terrace, looking out over the beautiful city of Bordeaux, that we got to enjoy with a nice bottle of champagne that we were able to purchase from the in room mini bar. The hotel is not large and only accommodates around 7 rooms which made our stay so wonderful. We were there 4 nights and honestly could have stayed longer if we had more time. The attention to details that everyone put into our stay were impeccable. They bent over backwards to help us in anyway. They were able to recommend restaurants and helped secure a driver and taxis when needed. They let you know they are at your complete assistance to make your stay wonderful. Thank you Audrey, Auriane and Bryan for making our stay so fabulous! All of you were very professional, but very warm and kind to us during our stay. We would without a doubt recommend Hotel Singulier to friends and family. Lastly, they have a wonderful new spa that we took advantage of during our stay. We would recommend it too. Sicily did a fantastic job helping us relax and enjoy the treatments. (A facial and massage) Our stay at Hotel Singulier will not soon be forgotten. It is a phenomenal place to stay because its so chic, but the people that work there are the heart of the hotel! Merci beaucoup Audrey, Auriane and Bryan!

A very comfortable, cozy and elegant hotel in the very centre of Bordeaux, five minutes from the cathedral. Warm and silent, and the staff is really kind. Definitely a good choice for staying in town and enjoying its atmosphere. Didn't have time to use the SPA so another reason to return

I had a truly wonderful stay at Hôtel Singulier during my 3 day trip to Bordeaux. The staff went above and beyond to make my experience unforgettable, showing genuine care and thoughtfulness that made my special occasion even more remarkable. The hotel itself is stunning – stylish, intimate, and impeccably maintained. My room was both luxurious and cozy, with every detail designed to make guests feel at ease. The location is ideal for exploring Bordeaux, with many attractions just a short walk away. What stood out the most was the exceptional hospitality. The team’s warmth and attention to detail made me feel so celebrated and valued as a guest. Their efforts truly elevated my trip and left me with beautiful memories I’ll cherish. I can’t recommend Hôtel Singulier enough – it’s perfect for anyone looking for a luxurious and heartfelt experience in Bordeaux. I can’t wait to return!
