Great location and nice hotel. Rooms were comfortable, although could've had more outlets and done a better job with blackout curtains. Dinner was expensive, but amazingly good quality - best meal we had in Iceland. Breakfast was good. If you stay here and have time, take the brief hike from the back of the hotel to see the glacier/mountains etc. Absolutely stunning. We were lucky with good clear weather.

This hotel is not luxurious but very welcoming thanks to its staff and the breathtaking landscape! Just behind the building there is unforgettable trekking of 10/15’ to the glacier’s view that was really worth it. Additionally, we want to truly thank Pedro for helping us with our car, without him we would have not been able to continue our journey!

A high class local experience! A family run hotel with the most majestic hotel view I have ever seen. A glacier right in the background with a nice scenic 10 min walk to the ice. The food at the restaurant is beyond amazing and worth every krona. Micheline star worth! Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend staying here and supporting the local community.

We chose this place mainly for its great location, and it did not disappoint. Although we didn’t spend much time at the hotel or exploring the surroundings, our room was clean, the front desk staff were extremely helpful and polite, and the breakfast selection in the morning was excellent. Highly recommend!

Pros: hotel staff is really nice! Rooms were clean and also had an eletric kettle with coffee and teas available. Even though the room was quite "old fashioned" it was comfortable and enough for us during our hikes at the glacier. If you like hiking there is a hiking trail right behind the hotel that leads to a lookout point with views of the glacier (really worth it).||Cons: everybody is aware about meals prices at Iceland. But we were really chocked about the prices on the hotel's restaurant. Some really basic meals with huge prices. Since we had a long trip we had no other option for the night other than spending a huge amount of money on a few chicken legs (see the picture). In case you are staying at the hotel don't forget to check the gas station right in front of the hotel where you can find really good sandwiches at a good price. We could also find one of the hotel's meal (Pasta salad) on the go much much much cheaper at the gas station when compared to the hotel's restaurant. And guess what?! The gas station staff have uniforms with the name of the hotel and the card receipt has also the name of the hotel. So, why do they have good prices at the gas station while the Hotel is really expensive?

Wonderful place. Very quiet. We saw the Northern lights from the room!|Very nice staff. We liked the breakfast very much too. |The "backyard" is a stunning glaciar you can see from your room. You can also go for a nice walk around. Do not miss this spot!

I was really impressed with this hotel — great service, clean and tidy, and the food was delicious. The best part is the trail right behind the hotel! You can take a short 20-minute hike, or walk about an hour to reach the stunning Svínafelsjökull Glacier. If you visit in June, the lupines are in full bloom around sunset — absolutely breathtaking.

Rooms... Especially the showers....are small, But very clean. Beds are somewhat hard. Extremely cheap shampoo in the shower. I recommend you use your own. A full Breakfast Is included at no extra charge. No exercise room. Accomodations are Appropriate for the price. Good value for the money. No Complaints with regard to that. I would stay there again. 3.5 stars.
