The restaurant offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for resting after exploring the waterfall. The cheese meat sauce lasagna-style pasta was rich and comforting, with layers of tender pasta, savory meat sauce, and melted cheese that felt hearty and satisfying. The cod risotto was creamy and delicate, allowing the freshness of the fish to stand out while remaining beautifully balanced. A fresh salad on the side added a light and refreshing contrast to the meal. What truly elevates the experience is the spectacular view of the waterfall nearby—the scenery somehow makes the food taste even better. The restaurant is very popular, and the food was exceptionally good, so making a reservation is highly recommended. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

We stayed in this hotel and ate at the restaurant as well. Everything was nice and the view is amazing! We can even see Skogafoss Waterfalls from our room window. Beds are comfy and the room is quite spacious. The food at the restaurant is superb! We had the Icelandic soup, the lamb burger and the arctic charr. The experience is truly wonderful. Special commendations to Ola & Gemma for the excellent service and hospitality. We will surely return again but in summer and with the whole family.

The room looks quite dark and aged. Some essential things were lacking like kettle. There was only one small table and chair in the family room we stayed in so we had to ear/drink in the beds.Location is good and right next to the waterfall. Cleanliness is acceptable.

It was okay. I was excited for the location, I wa not expecting a room with a view directed to the waterfalls but also not a room with the view on staff deposit. Anyhow, the location is awesome, amazing just waking up and visiting the waterfall as first thing of the day when tourists are still on the road. However, it felt a little bit like a tourist trap. It's quite more expensive than all the other places we stayed (because of the location and the great position to visit the south west coast), but the room is very "unpersonalized" and can be improved: e.g., given the geothermal water, hot water form the sink is not drinkable; i would maybe recommend to add a boiler in each room so that it is possible to warm up cold water and drink tee in the room or fill in flasks before hiking without using the one coffee machine in the corridor - somethign that all the other hotels I stayed simply offered. The breakfast is also standard. Some reviews complain about the geothermal-water smell: I instead think it is quite nice to experience that - it doesnt stick to the skin as someone says. Lastly, kinda hard to drive there during night, where no signs indicate how to get in front of the hotel from the parking of Skógafoss. Restaurant is open up to 21 which is good if you arrive late at night after sightseeing and you can have drink up to 23! Overall, I woudl recommend it once in life but I would not come back for a second time.

My family (kids age 14 and 11) stayed one night during a recent trip and it was a great overall experience. We arrived late in the evening after a full day of glacier activities further west. The hotel is very clean and modern and seemed to be very recently updated. We had two rooms which were both spacious and excellent. We arrived after dinner, but still had drinks at the hotel bar which has an amazing view of the Skogafoss waterfall. It was cold, so we sat inside, but there is a very nice patio as well. Breakfast in the morning had more limited offerings, but it was everything that you would need and all very good. The only thing that was particularly unique was the hot water is from a geothermal source, so taking a shower had a fairly strong sulfur smell. That was the only hotel in the trip that we experienced this. There are signs in the bathroom to make you aware and it really didn't matter, but it was different. Overall, the hotel is very clean, great staff, and a great location for anyone doing a multi-day trip along the southern coast.

Very close and walking distance to Skogafoss waterfall. Breakfast was very good.Room is dated, no fridge but they offer free coffee/tea (machine) which is right outside the rooms.Water smelt like sulphur but it’s due to the geo thermal water they are using.

The location is amazing. Of course you have the beautiful Skogafoss a short walk away. This is also a great central location to explore the south coast. The hotel itself is alright, it's nice but feels a bit like motel quality if you are from the US. The only thing we didn't like was the geothermal water in the shower. The hot water had a strange smell and felt weird on our skin. Other than that we loved the hotel. Also ate at the restaurant and it was good.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel which sits besides looming mountains and the Skogafoss waterfall in its backyard. It's well located off the Ring road and the rooms thought small are efficient. We had a room with a view of the waterfall. There was no closet but we found that to be the case in almost every hotel we stayed at in Iceland. There is no mini fridge nor safe. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. The property inside is very clean- and rooms are minimalist The breakfast was decent. The staff polite and helpful. There was horseback riding 2 minutes away by car on a road behind the property. I would recommend without reservation.
