My family (kids age 14 and 11) stayed one night during a recent trip and it was a great overall experience. We arrived late in the evening after a full day of glacier activities further west. The hotel is very clean and modern and seemed to be very recently updated. We had two rooms which were both spacious and excellent. We arrived after dinner, but still had drinks at the hotel bar which has an amazing view of the Skogafoss waterfall. It was cold, so we sat inside, but there is a very nice patio as well. Breakfast in the morning had more limited offerings, but it was everything that you would need and all very good. The only thing that was particularly unique was the hot water is from a geothermal source, so taking a shower had a fairly strong sulfur smell. That was the only hotel in the trip that we experienced this. There are signs in the bathroom to make you aware and it really didn't matter, but it was different. Overall, the hotel is very clean, great staff, and a great location for anyone doing a multi-day trip along the southern coast.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel which sits besides looming mountains and the Skogafoss waterfall in its backyard. It's well located off the Ring road and the rooms thought small are efficient. We had a room with a view of the waterfall. There was no closet but we found that to be the case in almost every hotel we stayed at in Iceland. There is no mini fridge nor safe. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. The property inside is very clean- and rooms are minimalist The breakfast was decent. The staff polite and helpful. There was horseback riding 2 minutes away by car on a road behind the property. I would recommend without reservation.

It was ok. It felt a little bit like a tourist trap if I can be honest (just a little bit). It's more expensive than all the other places we stayed, but you're paying for the location. The carpet is gross, the water smells of sulfer (they do warn you with signs inside tho), and the breakfast is so-so. The view out our room was nice because we happened to face the waterfall kind of, but it was also a road that people were often on so we had to keep the curtains closed if we wanted privacy - I wish they'd had a sheer curtain layer to use during the day. The staff seemed very nice although super busy, and the location is awesome. We had trouble getting into our room because the electronic touch screen number pad didn't accept our room number. 🫠 Easily fixed but I think regular key cards would have been a better design lol. It's dark at night (good for potential aurora viewing maybe) and walking to the waterfall in the eve is awesome. All in all a nice stay for one night for the experience.

Fine stay, nothing awful nor great. Didn’t love how you’re in a parking lot with no sheer curtains. Water was very smelly like sulfur (they warned us with signage). Breakfast buffet was average. Overall clean.

We had one room with kitchen in the guest house. Excellent location as Skogafoss Falls was just behind the guest house and at walk-able distance. It has washer and towel dryer which can be used as dryer. |Kitchen was of good size and stoked with utensils enough for three people. Only complaint is the wash basin in the washroom is very small where as there is enough space for a bigger washbasin of standard size.

We did not stay there but had an excellent meal - the local fish was delicious. Not too saucy and accompanied by simple vegetables. Just go local here. It is 10x better than in Rekjavik. Ribs were good but more classic. We should have tried the lamb next time

Our stay here was okay, mostly thanks to the great location right next to Skogafoss. It was great to be able to visit the waterfall first thing in the morning. That said, the room had a noticeable sewer smell, and the water pressure and temperature in the shower left a lot to be desired. While the room was clean, the overall experience could have been better.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and came to see the waterfall, and were happy to find a restaurant next to it. It was crowded which we took to be a good sign.|Anna took us to a table right away, and explained the menu well. We ordered the potato leek soup which is on their lunch menu daily, and was soup- of- the- day for dinner. It was delicious and a decent sized serving. We also had the vegan risotto entree which was also excellent. Anna’s service was prompt and efficient without rushing us. We highly recommend this restaurant.
