This is a lovely traditional family run hotel. On first appearances it may not look much, but once checked in, our room was huge with a spare bed in one corner. Our bed was very comfortable and there were 2 very comfy armchairs in the room too, as most hotel rooms only provide 1 chair due to space. |We ate here in the evening and the food was excellent. We had pumpkin soup, baked Brie, followed by a lamb burger and beef burger. |The staff here are very friendly and have a pride of working here.|My only reason for not giving a 5 rating is the very dated bathrooms. |Overall a great place to stay on travels around Iceland.

Stayed here for one night in August 2025. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. Also appreciated the free coffee and hot chocolate! The hotel is super quirky and has a Shining vibe, in the best possible way. We were told that we wouldn't have WiFi in our room, as we were in the very furthest possible room, but we did and it worked well. It's quite isolated, which we appreciated as it was very quiet and great ambiance. Only taking a star off because the rooms are a little dated HOWEVER the hotel is well maintained and the staff is nice.

The hotel looks like a 3 star motel specialized in accommodating big groups of package tours who want to visit the glaciers in the southern part. Good location, but it is still isolated. The wind was too strong and made noises, and I couldn't really have a sound sleep. There was no way of adjusting the temperature of the room. There was a free vending machine for Coco and tea.

Amazing hotel with the most courteous and hardworking staff. We stayed here for 2 nights to be close to Jokulsarlon and Diamond beach. We loved the spacious rooms and the elaborate breakfast every morning. We had plenty of vegetarian options. The wifi and tv is not as reliable, but we didn't really come to use those services. We loved their dinner menu which has 2-3 vegan choices ( pizza with vegan cheese!). Overall a great stay!

The staff was nice BUT… -I was told WiFi doesn’t reach all rooms (neither did cell data). It’s like they just don’t care to do anything about it. How are people supposed to plan the trip and check weather??? I would have brought them a €20 WiFi repeater from my house. -just not that attentive. Breakfast was good, but they have one coffee machine with no milk and the other with no cups. They could do better.

We stopped in for the breakfast buffet, but did not stay at the hotel. It was fun to look at the taxidermy collection capturing many local bird and animal species. They also had a collection of random local antiques and whale bones which were fun to see. The breakfast buffet includes a few types of homemade breads, and an assortment of meats and cheeses along with the more standard bacon, eggs, and beans. The smoked mackerel was superb! The price was very fair for Iceland ( :

The Hotel restaurant food is excellent. We ate both lunch and dinner in the same day. From the margerita pizza, pepperoni pizza, to the lamb burger, the fries were crispy and well seasoned, the fish of the day "cod" was served fresh. The lamb main course was cooked perfectly and so tender. The Skyr cake for dessert was the perfect ending...coffee, tea and Hit chocolate were complimentary. Staff was friendly and efficient.

We really enjoyed our stay here while travelling with a tour group. Quaint country side inn. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The included breakfast was delicious. We also liked the complementary coffee and tea.
