Hotel Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich

To start off the year, what’s better than spending a couple of nights in one of the most beautiful suites in Guangzhou. The skyline of the city has changed so much over the years, so it’s amazing to have a view on almost the entire CBD day and night from the comfort of your room. The room: really cannot say anything bad about it, probably the best suite we had in the last couple of years, so a huge thanks to the great staff at the checking to upgrade us as platinum members of Accor. The food: we had in room dining for lunch as well as breakfast in the lounge (as the breakfast restaurant was too busy at 10am). The in room dining was fantastic, we had the Hainanese chicken and seafood curry and for a great price. The breakfast was super lacking though, with a very limited selection in the lounge. It’s a shame we couldn’t try the restaurant as it was just far too busy at 10am with a long queue. The gym: passable for a simple workout but nothing too fancy. So if you are like me and need a full gym while travelling, you may need to look for day pass gyms nearby. The location: fantastic, with short walk to Tianhe and a great view of the city. Overall, this hotel is great. But there were too many instances where the hotel staff did not display the expected service for a hotel of this standard, including at the checkin, during breakfast, when calling the front desk staff (ie some items we asked for were forgotten and we had to follow up multiple times). Still, will definitely be back later this year and hopefully this time get to enjoy the full breakfast and the spa

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent stay with great service and location||We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Guangzhou and were very impressed with the overall experience.||The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to get around the city. The property is well maintained, elegant, and comfortable, with a calm and luxurious atmosphere.||The service was excellent throughout our stay — professional, friendly, and always helpful. We particularly enjoyed the Club Access, which was a real highlight. The food and beverages offered at the club lounge were very good, well presented, and generous, making it a perfect place to relax.||Dining overall was excellent, with great food quality and variety. Everything we tried exceeded our expectations.||We stayed as a family and had two rooms — one for my wife and me, and another room for our children. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, which made our stay relaxing and enjoyable.||Overall, Sofitel Guangzhou offers great service, excellent food, and a very convenient location. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to couples and families visiting Guangzhou.

It was a month ago or so that I stayed at the hotel. Good vibes and hardworking reception staff. Special compliments to staff Tracy (along with male staff who is of a tall build whose name I did not obtain) who helped me with a defective item ordered from taobao. She provided the much needed help for the item to be successfully returned to the sender. The tall male staff in a separate occasion provided a more respectable massage centre when the options that I've searched for is limited. I did not have the opportunity to thank them personally at the end of wonderful stay at the hotel and wish to convey my heartfelt thanks. Excellent work attitude and warm hospitality which I'll always remember!

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the front reception team. I would especially like to commend Maison at the front desk for his exceptional professionalism and gracious welcome. His warm demeanor, efficiency, and attention to detail made check-in effortless and immediately set a positive tone for my stay. Maison is a true asset to the hotel and a perfect representative of the Sofitel brand. I was also extremely impressed by the concierge team, who consistently went above and beyond to assist with directions, travel arrangements, and local recommendations. Their knowledge, responsiveness, and genuine willingness to help made navigating Guangzhou easy and stress-free. Every interaction with the concierge was handled with care, confidence, and professionalism. Throughout my stay, the overall level of customer service at the reception and across the hotel was outstanding. The staff were always courteous, attentive, and proactive, ensuring that every request was handled promptly and with a warm smile. The hospitality felt sincere rather than scripted, which made the experience even more memorable. Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich truly exemplifies refined comfort, world-class service, and heartfelt hospitality. I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Guangzhou. My husband and I stayed for two nights at Sofitel Guangzhou, and it was a wonderful experience. Location: Very convenient and central. Short ride to Beijing Road, Prac Central, nearby malls, Sacred Heart Cathedral, and several shopping markets. We also appreciated that the hotel kindly allowed us to leave our luggage at reception after checkout, which made it easy for us to go out and explore without any hassle. Staff: Welcoming, courteous, and always helpful. Room: Spacious and comfortable, with very cozy beds. The bathroom was amazing—modern and beautifully designed. We were also lucky to enjoy a lovely view of the Canton Tower from our room. Breakfast: A wide spread with excellent variety and quality—truly impressive. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again on our next visit.

Every time I come here, it gets worse. I am a platinum member. I did the check-in online knowing I would arrive in the early hours of the morning the next day, still when I arrived the staff had canceled my reservation. This is so unprofessional. I wasn't given a room on the elite floors, no welcome amenities were prepared when I arrived. The room was cold (Dec/Jan) and when I told the staff their answer was "it is South China and there is never any heating in the rooms". And that is just a lie. It is South China, and heating is rare in accommodations of any type, EXCEPT in a 5 stars hotel. I travel in this geographical area often and this is the first time I have a 5 star hotel where I am cold and have to request a small electric heater and told that is normal. Not it is not normal at that price point, nor for the type of clients you are serving. The breakfast is a large buffet, which can be good, but can also sometimes be a bit of hit and miss. For example very few chicken options, no clear description of what is in the food. When I asked for late check out it wasn't granted, despite rooms of the same type still being available for booking for the following night, which shows unwillingness to accommodate guests and not logistical impossibility. Honestly I regretted booking this hotel for my stay and will go to the Marriott/Sheraton next time, which are better located and where I had a better service last time.

Old hotel - need renovation, stinky carpet Breakfast - not enough western option and way too many sitting for a small kitchen that cannot accommodate. Amenities- pool is okay, spa was okay, lounge is actually acceptable. Service - if you don’t speak Chinese, staff may seem a little dismissive because well. They don’t speak English well. But overall they were nice if you spoke Chinese to them. Location - central but not directly next to any major mall. ——- Overall the price reflects the service and room you get from this hotel. It’s very decently priced for a Sofitel.

Equally impressive was the staff, who were consistently helpful, professional, and attentive throughout my visit.For complete transparency, my experience had two minor drawbacks. My room, while comfortable and well-appointed, showed slight signs of wear and would benefit from some maintenance updates. The dining experience was also inconsistent; some dishes were memorable, while others were merely average.That said, these points did little to diminish an otherwise wonderful stay. The overall comfort, serene ambiance, and superb service make the Sofitel Sunrich a hotel I would happily return to and recommend without hesitation.
