Beautiful hotel in a great location. The hotel is specious, clean, beautifully decorated with lush gardens. The staff is friendly and helpful. We love being in the middle of the town square with easy access to restaurants and shops. Our room was grand and the bed was very comfortable. The A/C and robes allow you to fully relax in comfort. We spent time in the rooftop pool and enjoyed drinks and snacks there. We also enjoyed the cafe downstairs for iced lattes and pasteries. Definitely book this place if it’s in your budget.

My wife and I stayed three nights in this beautiful hotel. This is the gold standard of hotels in Tequila. Elegant, upscale yet not pretentious. The property is immaculate and the employees are attentive. |We especially enjoyed the rooftop pool with a commanding view of the central square, the magnificent church and the volcano. |Our room was spacious, overlooking the pool- although we wished for a balcony but there are none at this property. |We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant as well. What we most enjoyed was coming back to this property after a day of touring and tasting to relax and unwind. The property is centrally located and well worth the splurge

On our recent trip to the city of Tequila, Jalisco was a memorable one. We had just missed the annual Tequila Festival which was a little sad. So we made up for it by stopping by the Hotel Solar de las Animas. We had cocktails at the downstairs hotel bar and it is beautiful. The altar behind the bar is a site to be seen. We ordered some of the hotels craft cocktails and they were delicious. We also had the opportunity to head up to the terrace bar with a great view of the main plaza. This hotel is beautiful and is a must stay when in Tequila.

Love it. What a wonderful hotel to stay at. The room was spectacular and the amenities are very good. It’s right on the town. It was a wonderful night and tequila. The place gets better at night. There are so many wonderful little cubbies to sit and relax or enjoy a beverage on your own. Next day- There’s really no way to capture the beauty and relaxing spirit of this hotel. You simply must experience it for yourself.

We stayed here last week during our visit to tequila. Beautiful hotel w excellent service and old world charm. Conveniently located in the city square. Beautifully designed with rooms overlooking gardens. The decor and furniture were gorgeous. We loved our stay here !

Google
This hotel was incredible. From the staff, the amenities, and location, we felt by the end of our trip that we were visiting good friends at their incredible home. Their service was better than a lot of service you would expect at 5 star hotels in the states. 6/5 stars, we’ll be back!

Google
Awesome location on the square in historical Tequila Mexico. Beautifully maintained, exquisite setting and excellent service awaits you. Food for the most part good, we did only breakfast. Only disappointment was 2 coffees in the room per stay, along with limited drinking water, as the water is not safe out of the tap. Not a huge problem as there is a convenience store around the corner where you can purchase what you need. Check-in staff top notch and clearly happy to assist at all times.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. A beautiful building, comfortable rooms, and an absolutely amazing staff that will make you feel welcomed and taken care of. Oh, and the breakfast is outstanding. If you can afford it, don't think it twice! This is the best hotel in town, no doubt about it!

Yelp
Overview: The best hotel in Tequila with good service. Cons: Older hotel with very poor sound insulation and sparse furnishing in rooms. Arrival: Arrived by car. No valet or porter available when we arrived. Check-in: adequate check-in process Room (305): A large room that needs more furniture and some comfortable furniture. There was no place to comfortably sit in the room! Small and older TV (no Netflix access or smart functions) with all channels in Spanish. Mini-refrigerator, safe, etc. Major disappointment- Nespresso in-room coffee maker was fee-based! Who provides a Nespresso and then charges for the pods? Furniture was below average. For example, little sitting chair in the corner of the room was completely uncomfortable. Floors were tile but not very clean. Bed: Average king bed with above average linens. Bathroom: Large bathroom with large walk in shower, but shower was not well-designed. It didn't drain well and water pressure was bad. Lighting was not the best. Hairdryer was broken, and we had to request a replacement. Service: Overall good service, nice staff Pool: small pool in courtyard, small rooftop pool Restaurants: Best restaurant in Tequila is located in the hotel- La Antigua Casona Overall cleanliness: above average WiFi: very slow wifi. Ran an nperf test and the results were dismal 6 Mb down, 5.6 Mb up. Had a Teams video meeting while there, and my colleagues kept complaining about my spotty internet. Valet: decent valet service upon departure Misc: nice library for relaxing and reading; hotel is located in a good location on the main square and one block from the Jose Cuervo distillery

Yelp
This hotel is in the heart of downtown central area of Tequila. Across the street from the Church, the Jose Cuervo distillery and walking distance to Sauza distlillery. A lovely and super clean hotel. Prior to arrival they sent us an email with recommendations for adventures in tequila. It was recommended to take a tour of the Jose Cuervo distillery. I called and they were so nice to assist over the phone. Great service! Arrival: by car. Hotel has valet service provided after check-in. Nobody will greet you at your car. Park in the front and go in. Service: employees are all very nice and friendly. Security is everywhere keeping everyone safe. Room: 305, very clean. With a nice King size bed with high quality bed linens. The bed is medium comfort and nice firm pillows. The TV is quite small for the size of the room. The chair and ottoman are uncomfortable. The desk is a nice spot to do some work but the WIFI in the hotel is quite slow. Working remotely here would not be n option. There is a mini bar. The coffee is not free in your room, so be mindful to check prices before you brew a cup. One pod of coffee is 60 pesos. Coffee in the restaurant with refills is 40 pesos. Get yourself ready and head downstairs. The coffee in the restaurant is out of this world delicious and worth getting dressed for. Bathroom: lovely bathroom with gorgeous chandelier but a bit dark for shaving or applying makeup. NIce double sink but water pressure is lacking. The left side sink hot water never got hot. There is a soap dispenser that both sinks my must share. Reaching over from the far sink can be a pain if another person is at the closer sink, we made due, but bit akward. The hair dryer is low quality and did not put out hot air to dry your hair, we did request a new dryer. The new dryer works good, but again not the best quality. Gorgeous gigantic walk in shower but the water pressure is not that great. You have this lovely gigantic shower but the pressure of the water and the shower head does not allow the use of the entire space but you do have hot water. Sleep quality: varies depending on the night. First night was poor and we did not get any sleep. Our room faced the swimming pool so not sure if there is a better place in the hotel, but you can hear everything. The church bells go off every 15 - 30 minutes and each time it is between 8-10 rings. Then you hear water running from other rooms from the showers to the flushing toilets. The street noise. The second night it was quiet and the sleep quality was great! We think it was because of Christmas Eve and Christmas that the Church bells were going off so much. The next night, the church bells were silent. Pool: there is a lovely outdoor pool. There is an adult pool on the floor 4 with the sky bar. What a lovely pool on the rooftop and the bar is overlooking the downtown Tequila area. Restaurant: on site restaurant and quality of food varies on what is going on. See separate review.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Tequila. Great service and attention to detail. Birthday week celebration is what brought us here. Last minute reservations for a Tequila tour? No problem, concierge got us in.

Yelp
We only stayed one night and I regret that so much. Arriving to Solar de las Animas was like coming home after driving long hours and tired. You don't need to leave this hotel. It has everything there. The top bar has an amazing view and it has a pool right next to the bar. We went to the gym which was amazing, they have every equipment you can think of and working out with the view of the mountains was beautiful. The place is spotless The bed is amazing, great pillows. Rooms are huge and bathrooms too! Don't forget your bathing suite like I did. The pool is gorgeous and the water feels amazing. There is Art in the place. The library is unique. Love, love, love this hotel. The Seafood Pasta I had at the restaurant was out of this world delicious!!!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful! Lots of attention paid to the grounds and pool areas. The rooms are large and comfortable. The rooftop bar and pool are a must. The major downside is you will hear every noise, every conversation, every peep from others in the hotel halls because there's absolutely no soundproofing. Bring something for background/white noise. Do not try the restaurant as it is very disappointing and could ruin your opinion of the hotel. There are a lot of other local restaurants to try while you are out and about!

Yelp
Let me just say if I had the option to rate with zero stars that would be my rating! My wife and I stayed for a night and got eaten up by bed bugs. Hotel staff went in to the room and confirmed that there was bed bugs. Terrible response from management they did not even offer an apology or credit for the terrible experience. Management did nothing about my concerns and stated "we're not sure how the bugs got there, they may have fallen from the ceiling" this was managements response to my concern. Terrible experience for the high ratings of this hotel. I wouldn't stay here ever again! See photos attached. Hotel's management's response was unacceptable not even an apology! TERRIBLE

Yelp
Other than the price being a little hefty for a nice hotel I wouldn't say luxury either but definitely well maintained, didn't really eat at the restaurant since I'm trying to eat from the street vendors mostly but definitely a nice stay for a few days in a beautiful city of Mexico

Yelp
I stayed here for one night and I paid $248.32 The property is nice beautiful the staff in the front desk nice but the downside of this it doesn't come with breakfast included and for the price that you paid I think they're in value the little things they can make a difference to their property that being said I went to try to have dinner at that la Antigua casona and they have a rooftop area which it was not available because they say it was close and then we asked if we could see it more into the center of the restaurant they told us they didn't have a table for two in the center of the restaurant that being said it was not even half full which I thought that was ridiculous/ I will not consider to recommend this place neither to stay again here they are other options around the area.

Yelp
With Mexican architecture and colonial style decor, you feel the old world 17th century charm combined with modern luxury and comfort. It's possibly the nicest hotel in Tequila - and the newest - as it took three years to build and they are now gradually accept guests to fill their 93 rooms. The location couldn't be more perfect, situated blocks from Tequila's plaza del centro with views of the church Santiago Apostol and volcano. You're in walking distance to local eats, shopping, and tequila bars (which comes in handy since the hotel is a Jose Cuervo hotel and that is the only brand of tequila they serve). Rooms are equipped with L'Occitane products; mini bar; mini fridge; plush bathrobes, slippers and bedding; smart TV; Wi-Fi; and a standing shower that could possibly fit you and four of your closets friends! On the first level you'll find the pool, restaurant, cafe/wine area, strolling/walking paths; on the 4th floor is where you wanna go for sweeping views of the town at the hotel's Sky Bar. They have a limited food menu (guac, chips), tequila cocktails galore, lounge chairs and a small swimming pool. The hotel also offers turndown service, beauty salon, meeting room, and a fitness center with sauna. Our group of friends were only there for one night and had an early morning tequila adventure, so we didn't get a chance to check out all the amenities - but I'd love to return! Rooms start at $170 USD, but I did notice $120 USD specials recently. If you book, I rec staying over the weekend, as the town is completely silent on weekdays. My only complaints about our stay was: :: No complimentary coffee. The room is equipped with a Nespresso machine, but you still have to pay for your coffee. (Even our HolidayInn Express in Guadalajara had free coffee in both the rooms and the lobby.) :: Trying to close our tab at SkyBar took some 20 minutes. It took a staff of 5 people to stand around a machine and scratch their heads as we waited ... and waited ... and waited. We nearly missed dinner at the only opened restaurant in town. :: Though SkyBar had a full menu of 20+ tequila cocktails, they were only able to make 5.

Yelp
Four women "Possible Food Poisoning Warning" We had 8 people during our stay, (4 men / 4 women) and all the women ate dessert at their restaurant. The next morning, the house doctor had to examine all 4 women, and gave them each several prescriptions for medications (Vomiting, Diarrhea, Cramping) The Hotel manager was so too busy to care, and never came to talk to us. The Hotel is so money hungry that they even charged us the .50 cents for a "pedialyte" type drink that I gave my wife after she threw up 3 times (it was in the room refrigerator). No concession was given. The Doctor was a nice guy. Enjoy your stay here, but if anything goes wrong - Good Luck

Yelp
Excellent luxurious hotel for a little town in the countryside of Mexico. Everything was excellent from the moment we arrived. We felt safe and taken care of. Straub. With free flower drinks when checking in: hibiscus and romero (rosemary)... yum! The pool is perfect for an afternoon of splashing fun. We were there on a Thursday night and had the pool for ourselves! Luxurious bedding and decor. Tequila in your room for reasonable prices for American tourists. Coffeemaker and other niceties in the room, including two small glass containers with raw almonds and dried fruits. Yum!

Yelp
Perfect downtown location! Valet (underground) parking. We reserved the room the same day. They're online was not working from where I was at. I called the hotel and had great service on the reservation. Rooms were large and very clean. Beds were very comfortable. I was surprised at their very cool bar up on the top floor overlooking the city. Great drinks with a heated pool right by the bar. Highly recommends this hotel.

Yelp
Definitely stay here. It's an amazing hotel I side a small town. It across the street from everything and it's very high end. The staff was friendly, everything was clean and up to date. It definitely made me want to come back and stay here. After seeing some of the other hotel options you will for sure want to Stay in this one!

Yelp
Hotel staff was amazing, everything was clean and the location was perfect. You could walk just about anywhere from either of the entrances. The sky bar had a great view and the restaurant served delicious food.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel and restaurant located in the center of tequila Jalisco. Walking distance from Jose Cuervo and step out into the plaza. The restaurant is an hacienda style with gorgeous presentation and friendly staff food is well made and presented nicely.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel during my first visit to Mexico and it was beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious, and the bathrooms have a rain-style shower head which was my favorite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My boyfriend speaks Spanish, but I do not and they were very patient with me and made me feel welcome. The sky bar is beautiful and has an incredible view, and the pool is great - I recommend ordering the mango habanero margarita, it's incredible! I hope I get an opportunity to visit again, I would definitely choose this hotel for my stay and recommend it to anyone who is visiting this area.

Yelp
Amazing hotel in the heart of Tequila. Superb service and beautiful installations. The best option - by far - in Tequila.

Yelp
Might be the best service Ive ever had and I have stayed at a lot of really nice 5 star hotels. The town of tequila is fantastic and if you're visiting the area then you must stay at this hotel.

Yelp
Booked by my company & very excellent services. Everything ran smoothly & seamlessly. The only minor issue is I could hear workers talking, moving around & cleaning dishes during the night. I also keep hearing something coming from the ceiling throughout the night. Besides, that - it's a beautiful hotel with amazing attentive workers. I had a wonderful time & loved it!
