Marcos offered wonderful, well informed, kind service at a memorable breakfast! His English is excellent, and he was very helpful in helping us plan our day visit to his fine city. The buffet is marvelous with beautifully prepared offerings. The chef is serious, and it shows.

Big expectations followed by disappointment. Staff are kind, friendly and helpful. Restaurant serves good food. However the hotel needs urgent refurbishment and redecoration: wear and tear everywhere. Tiny uncomfortable bathrooms, minimal closet space. Cleanliness?- very unsatisfactory. Wooden floors need urgent replacement. Corridor floor outside the suite - uneven. Restaurant’s ceiling “Stuck” decoration is based on “Swastika” patterns (Nazi Cross)- what bothered me asa descendant of holocaust survivors.

Tons of character and the main building is lovely. I don't know what the rooms are like in the main building, but if you stay in the annex I would think twice. The hotel is on an extremely busy road with constantly beeping and revving motorcycles. As the hotel is historic, that means it has single pane windows and a single wood shutter which do nothing to keep out the noise. It's like sleeping in the pit at Nascar. The rooms themselves are oddly bare. A bed, two lamps and a couple tables and that's about it.

This hotel is just beautiful. Simple and elegant at the same time, with very pleasant garden and water fountains. Beautiful rooms and beds. Very quiet and close to the main tourist attractions. Restaurant open all day, with spectacular breakfast served in a beautiful dining room, or wherever you want within the hotel premises. Courteous and helpful staff. A place to visit more than once

This wonderful Palace, worth a visit! Excelent cousine with a romantic touch. Excellent location, excellent food, in a sophisticated place with very beautiful decoration, featuring watercolors pictures of animals of the Brazilian flora. Main dishes Evokes imperial family! Picadinho a Dom Pedro, canja do imperador, torta do imperador( cheesecake with berries), Nice place to have a special meal! Closet until end of october/2019

Relaxing, easy going, clean. A simple hotel set in an old building but one that provides good service. I expect to stay again. Nice grounds, good room. Excellent shower facilities. Great coffee. Reasonable food. Nice to sit outside in the covered are. Just a pleasant place to stay. 👍👍

The hotel is wonderful, located in a huge area at the most beatiful avenue in the city (Köeller). Some apartments are located in the main building (aged 140 years) and others (like ours, Visconde de Rio Branco) in a mansion also within the same area. Our room was very large although the bathroom was a little small. Breakfast was excellent. Both hotel and restaurant teams were lovely and helpful.||Almost all rooms suffer from traffic noise coming from the square in front of the hotel. Even with the restrictions because it is a historic building something should be done to mitigate this effect. During the night there's virtually no traffic.

Historic building with good size rooms and comfortable beds. Comfortable lounge. Hotel has private parking and is secure. Service friendly, helpful and excellent.||Great location to visit sites of Petropolis, a very safe city.
