Hôtel Solara

Excellent location right in the centre and moments from the beach but still quiet. Rooms are a bit basic but clean and our double room had a great little balcony. People on reception are really friendly and helpful and will store your bags. The lift is tiny as other people have said. We preferred to walk the five flights of stairs! Would definitely stay here again if back in Nice as it's great value for money for where it is located.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Jean's warm welcome made my first visit memorable; he even provided a map highlighting all the must-see spots. The hotel's prime location in the city centre not far from Nice Ville station allowed me to explore effortlessly. Plus, it’s close to top-notch eateries. I ate at Le Grand Cafe for breakfast and Rina for dinner. Both were great and added an extra layer of convenience and delight to my trip. The room itself was great - I booked the double with balcony. Quite a large balcony, decent bathroom and room size. Highly recommended * The reception is open until noon in the morning. If you arrive by 12 o'clock they should be able to look after your luggage if you message and ask.* *Once at the airport there is Tram Line 2 to get to the city center. I got a return ticket for £10 which got me there and back for my flights. The nearest stop to the hotel is "Jean Médecin". Then it is a 6-minute walk.*

The hotel’s location on Nice’s main street was really convenient. Just a heads-up, though: it can get quite noisy late at night if you’re sensitive to that. It’s also a safe area with plenty of people around, which made me feel secure walking back late at night. Plus, it’s just a short stroll to the beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Great location and very kind owner. The bathroom was a bit small but the terrace totally made up. Great value for tourists.

POSITIVES: Great location, room was small but clean and owner pleasant NEGATIVES: Balcony was lovely except for the dead fruit tree in the corner. Shower head broken; glass cosmetic tray under bathroom mirror ready to fall off; curtain rod not secured properly so kept falling down when curtain was pulled. Asked for a second hand towel twice which we never got and then the morning of our departure no hot water! Also not convenient that you are unable to check in or even leave your bags between 12:00 - 14:00. Will not stay here again.

I enjoyed staying in Hotel Solara. This is a budget friendly 2 star hotel and right in the city centre of Nice, so it has amazing location for tourists. Obviously the room amenities were limited as it was a budget hotel. But it would be enough you only intend to explore the area during the day and stay in the room to sleep only. Good Internet connection, a small refrigerator and a TV included as well. And the staff was extremely polite and attentive. I bought 9 eur breakfast from them and they punctually brought it to my room at the time I requested them. Also explained me the public transportation system and the main sightseeing places around Nice. So for this price range I would definitely book there again.

This hotel is very good for the price, don't expect anything fancy, but you'll be right in the center of Nice, minutes form the beach, 10 minutes from the tram stop, and close to many restaurants and shops. The hotel is a part of an apartment complex, you have to get to the 4th floor to actually access the hotel and the reception desk. The lift is very small and makes funny noises, so if you have more luggage, you might need to take the stairs instead. The staff is very helpful, the hotel is not open 24/7 though. You'll get codes so you can open both doors after 8 pm, and you can call this phone number to reach the reception anytime. ||The hotel offers in-room breakfast which is nice. ||I had a single room which was surprisingly spacious for a single room, very clean with a large terrace with an amazing view. The shower was pretty small and there was space to put your toiletries, the shower was very modern though.||Two things I didn't like about this hotel - the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from your neighbors. Because the hotel is located on a busy street, it gets very loud at night too. Secondly, the bed was very uncomfortable, very hard, I hardly got some sleep. ||If they change the beds and pillow, I'll be happy to come back! I recommend this hotel to those who like staying in the center and are not too demanding.

Simple rooms - very immaculate - french balconies, takes up a 4th floor above restaurants - the owner is very friendly and gives you a resort map and explains the area on arrival. Set on the rue d France -amongst lots on restaurants and stores wander the pedestrian area of old Nice into the Port Olympia, a couple of minutes down a side street from the Solara to the promenade and in the opposite direction is the tram stop to the airport. Perfect location for exploring Nice! Train station app 15 minutes walk which allows you to explore the Cote d'azur Azur - Cannes,Antibes, Eze, Monte Carlo, Monaco & Menton and so much more
